How To Get PERFECT Flares For Ductless Mini Splits | Navac Powered Flaring Tool!

  • When it comes to flare connections on HVAC units, it’s very important to follow a good process and to have the right tools. In this video, I show my process on how to get perfect, leak free flare connections using the Navac cordless power flaring tool. With ductless mini split units becoming more and more popular in North America, the need for a flaring tool that offers accurate and consistent flaring has become necessary for proper equipment installations. I have always used a flaring block in the past and never really felt confident with the tool, that is no longer an issue for me. I highly recommend this tool!

    Good video as always. Just curious about your pressure test process. As the system is no doubt R410A, shouldn't your pressure test be higher? Here in UK we test to 1.1 X max working pressure.

    • @QualityHVACR
      @QualityHVACR  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct. After reading the manual, it states to pressure test at 500 psig. Going forward that’s what I’ll test at. I’m bad at remembering to read the manual sometimes...Thx for pointing that out.

    • @jayaircon
      @jayaircon 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Quality HVACR No problem. We’re moving to R32 in uk which means we have to buy all recovery units, vac pumps and gauges as R32 is flammable. Bring back good old R22 I say!!

    • @frankf7406
      @frankf7406 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure to look at the pressure difference on the king valves. With Mitsubishi, too much nitrogen pressure and it can leak past the king valves. If you have a leak, it’s not going to hold pressure.

    Great work bro with the fancy tools . I have to many tools already . Making a flare is basic stuff and a good mechanic makes hundreds. The torque wrench is cool but not nessesary . I would recommend these tools for my wife lol. Been a commercial mechanic for 30 years. Maybe I am old school but a guy has to learn what tight enough is and how to make a flare that tool may not fit in all locations. We have to watch we don't become toolaholics. Lol keep up the good work.
