    The back of the 6.7 crank has a small boss that sticks out, so the 5.9 flexplate won't fit. But 2 mins with a flapper disc takes care of it

    Behind every successful man is a Good Wife! Love how Mike's wife not only stuck up for him but has faith in his visions! Watching how proud she is just with her ear to ear smile is priceless! ❤ women don't understand how much power they can give us or take from us. Men support the wife & mother, they are the caretakers of the family & children. An intact family unit is so powerfull, the backbone of our country!

    What are your thoughts on the wide bowl vs the small bowl on the 6.7 as far as performance and stuff?
    DDP seems to think the 06-07 5.9 wide bowl was the most superior for fuel burn on one his vids. No discussion was made in this detail for 6.7 swaping to the 06 style bowls. If I was to do this swap I would be going with wagler rods so you can see why it would make sense to decide if the 06 piston swap is worth it. Maybe its worth making a vid on this topic.
    What's holding me back is the injectors. I have a new set of exergies for a 2006 and would not want to drop another 4k or so on 03 style injectors. I sent the 5.9 too hard and need a new block.
    Thanks for sharing all you do, it helps ignorant schmucks like me have a better chance in building a decent rig.

    • @horsetorquesdiesel
      @horsetorquesdiesel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Narrow bowl is tougher in my opinion. Wide bowl will make more fuel only power. On nitrous they make about the same

    • @ChannelZeroOne
      @ChannelZeroOne ปีที่แล้ว

      @@horsetorquesdiesel Can they be direct swapped? meaning I buy stock 06 5.9 pistons and they bolt up in place of the 6.7 ones?

    • @ChaosViper67
      @ChaosViper67 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ChannelZeroOne I agree with Josh that the reentrant style/narrow bowl pistons of the 305hp 5.9 and 350hp 6.7 engines are better for cleaner power, they seem to run quieter and smoother as well. But I'd you already bought new injectors with 04.5-07 spray pattern then buy QSB industrial 6.7 pistons that are built for a similar spray pattern as a late 5.9. You can't run 5.9 pistons in a 6.7, the bore is 4.02" for a 5.9 and 4.21" for a 6.7.

    • @ChannelZeroOne
      @ChannelZeroOne ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChaosViper67 Thanks. That's the type of info I am looking for.
      What about the rods?
      Hopefully Josh does a vid on this topic.

    • @ChaosViper67
      @ChaosViper67 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChannelZeroOne I'm not really knowledgeable on common rail fueling but what fueling and turbo setup? If you have compounds are a super torquey setup you'll want rods. Street fighters are all you'll need billet rods are overkill for most.

    • @joshuaquilliam2887
      @joshuaquilliam2887 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All pick up truck 6.7's have the regular "small bowl" reentrant pistons. The wide bowl 6.7 pistons came in the QSB marine engine and are readily available from retailers. AFAIK they hold up to heat a little better as well because they are a little different metal due to the higher output of the QSB.

    • @horsetorquesdiesel
      @horsetorquesdiesel  ปีที่แล้ว

      They say they handle heat better but I question that due to the heat of the after treatment systems on the pick up trucks. I have melted far more wide bowls then narrow. But the literature says they are stronger. If that makes sense
