I have an 01 2nd gen. I installed a 4" turbo back exhaust. Had TurboLabs of America rebuild/upgrade an HX35 turbo to 67mm c/t wheel. Airdog FAAS lift pump, DAP 150hp injectors. Quadzilla Adreneline V2 tuner. Also had my auto tranny rebuilt with billet torque converter and shift kit. I don't know how much HP I produce but it rocks. My next goal is to install new head studs that I bought. Haven't had the time. I did all the work besides the tranny myself. I can't see paying someone else to work on my truck when I can do it. Also I installed and ARB airlocker in my differential. I don't have 4WD. I never plan on selling my truck. I love the Quadzilla tuner. So much control over the tuning.
I have a 98 24v cummins with an edge box. I made an electronic controller to operate a VGT turbo (He351ve), then converted my truck to VGT turbo. It had mild low end smoke, so I switched to quadzilla for the custom tuning and smoke control. I wouldn’t say I 100% regret the tuner switch, but the edge hit so much harder and was a lot more fun to drive. I kind of miss it.
Yeah, that’s what I thought, but really the little puff of smoke off idle with the edge doesn’t seem that bad. It was so much more fun to drive and felt more powerful.

So in short I would love to see what your truck would do on the dyno!
Same! I really wanted to but there’s nothing close to me. Thankfully this is a pretty common setup so plenty of other people have, but the goal with the 0-60 was to actually give some hard data on the improvements as best I could without a dyno.
You did a great job explaining the build to get this kind of horsepower. One thing for certain, and this comes from experience owning a 24v truck. You need to have at least 13psi from the lift pump to the VP44 so the fuel in the VP44 can recirculate back to the tank and keep the VP44 cool. From what I remember on the other diesel forums it was a norm to have at least 17 -18 psi at all times on the fuel gauge.
@@JustDiesels It is huge and unfortunately there are numerous repair shops that work on Dodge trucks and don't know that a good quality lift pump is needed that attaches to the frame and not to the engine. Do it right to begin with, do your homework before buying and join some Diesel Forums and ask a lot of questions before buying. When you see a truck for sale that is stock with only 55K or even 150K plan on putting a new lift pump like a Fass or Airdog and possibly a new VP44 (I wouldn't give it a second thought myself) or you might be sitting on the side of the road. My first 1999 Dodge SLT 5 speed left me sitting on I-4 after driving it only less than 200 miles. I was a stock truck with less than 160K miles. So $4,000 later and a new VP44 and Airdog lift pump I was well educated on the Dodge fuel system.
