With what I've learned about clear coating, is that a little goes a long way. So what I do is first, make sure your paint is completely cured/dry. Make sure humidity is low in the place you're drying your build. 2nd, warm your clear coat can in a container of hot water for about 10 minutes or so. Then when you spray on your clear coat, do a light coat to start. Then let it dry for 2-3 days. Now repeat the warning process, in the hot water. And spray another coat of clear, a little more than the first coat. Let dry for another few days. If you spray too much, you'll know almost instantly with the "bubbling". Good luck my friend. I still have issues with clear coating!! It's truly a bit€#...
When I use paint, I try to stick to one brand and type. There are some clear coats that can ruin the paint and decals. I usually have good luck with Krylon Crystal Clear for sealing decals after printing and to coat the entire body, but some brands don’t work well together. I usually force myself to use my airbrush so I can use a bottle of Testors clear to apply several thin coats that dry smooth and clear. I was rushing to get some cars out to Victor Fastlane and I used the spray can of clear on the NASCAR Tauruses.. and a minute after I sprayed it, the paint and decals wrinkled. Thin coats of Krylon Crystal Clear doesn’t seem to do that and the Testors clear coat doesn’t do it. Keep on Chef’n! 😂
I'm picking up what BillysMidway is putting down, use product from the same manufacturer because it's formulated to work together. Mixing different paint types is akin to mixing Jim Beam & Jack Daniels, _ohhh nooo_ We should all get a second free space on the SST Bingo this episode for how roughly you hit the camera here. 😅 Do take care; those aren't cheap Those aren't "Loser Cars" in the looks department at least, Bill. I've seen many sent in to races that didn't have even half that effort put in 💯😎🏁
