The air pressure on the side of the tire is the air pressure. Texas passed a tire pressure law in 2008. It is five pounds from printed on tire. Insurance company’s adhere to the law. This means if you have lower than that your insurance is voided. Meaning you get a ticket in the Mail for improperly maintaining your vehicle. Scary 😦 huh.
That’s quite a silly law considering the many factors that govern what your optimal tyre pressure should be like vehicle weight, carrying weight, towing weight, tyre profile, load capacity, temperate, and altitude. You can lose 5psi just from driving from a warmer state into a cold one and up a mountain. Scary indeed.
