- Tigh Na Mara, gaelic for “house by the sea” is a world class resort destination in Parksville, British Columbia. Brian Roth from BD Diesel Performance joins Brendan as they try their hand at salmon jigging and end up getting into the most abundant numbers of salmon they’ve ever experienced.
So many great memories from my childhood jigging at Little Q river. Great Vid!
Sounds like a fun way to spend a childhood! Thanks for watching!
Hey Brendan, great videos. I have had amazing success with a Delta half jig - Green Herring Aid. Has to be the 1 oz. You can fish the entire column of water for lings, rockfish, and salmon. Amazing jig.
Thanks for the tip Jim. Gibbs has some incredible lures and the Herring Aid seems to work anywhere on the coast.
Great videos. I’m learning a tonne from your videos. Much appreciated! See you on the chuck around vancouver once it opens up.
That’s awesome, thanks for watching!
Great video thank you... heading to Alder Bay in a couple of weeks.
Thanks for watching! Tight lines!
Sometimes its so busy at the LQ you need to jig to avoid the bumper boats!
It gets crowded for sure but it’s worth it!
Love your videos. Great fishing!
Really like how you mostly stay hands off when releasing, so much better for the fish!
Great video !! I'll try jigging for salmon next spring . Thanks !
Thanks for watching! Please subscribe if you haven't yet!
Nice video nice place👍
from japan.
I subscribed to your page👍😊
Thank you!
What a hog that was on the jig beauty. First time in 12 years I’m not going for my island trip, one sad panda 🐼. Keep these great vids coming so I can get my fix through you this summer.🍻
Yeah that was truly amazing. We were so grateful. Too bad you can’t make it out to the island but we’ll have plenty of videos to keep you entertained!!
Nice videos. I can watch and dream I am there with you to forget the surrounding noise. Very relaxing.
Do you mind me asking the model number of your net, I want one. I love it. Thanks
Thanks for watching! The net is a catch and release net from Gibbs Delta
Great video with lots of info
Is that off Tina marra or qualicum
You should do some catch and cook content
We actually are this year! Great idea!
Nice! Love the boat.
Always always jig your way down, up slow with the rod and drop fast, often if you pause at the bottom of the stroke vs keep jigging will entice a strike.
Wow a jumbo on the jig. That’s crazy.
Nice hogs BMo. Was this filmed in late summer 2020?
Yes, Hogust 2020 I think around the 27th or so
You should make a quick video going over your simrad settings!
Great idea!
@@ReelWestCoast what kind of transducer do you run?
Nice video Brandon and the other gentleman with I can’t wait till next year to give it try.
Hope you don’t mind me asking what’s the difference between aTyee or chinook or king salmon they all look a like to me
Chinook and King salmon are the same, a Tyee is just a Chinook (or King) over 30lbs. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t yet!!
@@ReelWestCoast thanks for the information so I can say I landed one on 9/11 here in Washington state it was 591/2 pound had to let go it was a native fish but it was worth the fight and the fun it Swim away healthy and safe
@@carlossales8710 That's awesome! Good on you for releasing it! We release any healthy fish over 30 as well.
@@ReelWestCoast yes they are the brute stiock and we have to keep them come back
You have info on those jigs? Great vid!
Glad you like it! Mac Fish jigs from Gibbs Delta. The one in the video was the herring aid pattern
Sniping chinooks like you used to snipe on Kiprusoff.
congrats on tyee
Was wondering what weight of jig to use for different depths? Like 2 ounce to a certain depth ? Then go to 3 or 4 ounce for deeper depth. Having a hard time finding info on that. Thanks
Have always done well in that area 👍
Yeah, amazing spot!
Beauty fish!
Thanks for watching!
HI. I mean this with all sincerity I don't know much about hockey I didnt know you played until I was showing your videos to my friends. Who quickly told me you are not just a fisherman. That being said. I have tried reaching out to you a few times. And I would love to have contact with you. I would do ANYTHING to get to go fishing with you and learn from you. If you thinks there's a chance we could ever link up and I could pick your tackle box so to speak. Please let me know
What brand of sunglasses do you wear?
what transducer are you using?
Brendan really respects the fish, you can see it.
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!
Was this recent?
August 2020
Didn't know that anything that feels over 20lbs is "definitely a Tyee"
My understanding of big spring/feeder fish are Tyee, not nessisary ocean maturing fall chinook
@@NorthweSteelheadJunkies Chinook Salmon 30 Lbs and Over are called "Tyee" Salmon. That is the only qualification for that Nickname
