I fish solo all the time around Vancouver. It’s so much fun. I landed a 30lbs chinook solo at T-10 last Sept. Man does it make fishing even more of a sport when trying to net solo - especially in a chop.
Those white mercs are nice! You have the double controls, do you find it is easier to dock this size of the boat from the helm, or the stern controls station?
This was such a great episode with many lessons to be learned. It was great to see you and your editor at the boat show - as I mentioned to you I’m happy to assist with some ideas as your channel deserves much more attention!
As always what a great episode. I can't wait till the first week of july when i got my family in Ukee/Tofino the most beautiful place on earth. I hope the fishing is good then. Thanks for sharing.
Great video! Had my first solo salmon fishing this past weekend and will definitely take a few of this tips for the next outing. Organized chaos is a perfect description!
12:45 that's a Washington produced hatchery fish. WA has restricted our fishing seasons so much we can barely fish for them but lucky you Canadians can enjoy them
Haven’t checked in for a while new boat looks awesome and a great episode Thks for a couple tips we can use this coming season. Last year was our first time fishing out of Bamfield and it was spectacular. You’re right the west coast of Vancouver Island. Fishery is incredible. Have a great year 🎣👍
Thanks Terence! Glad to have you back, please subscribe if you haven't yet! Bamfield is an amazing place I'm glad you got to experience it. If you ever see us out there swing by and say Hi!
tip for solo at least a 6' pole on the net play them out and bring them in slow ... this is where most who are right handed ... have most issues as now your left arm is tired .... and landing is where it all tends to go wrong ... kick the speed down but not dead panning .... another is if you have enough space carry two nets .......
Really enjoy the videos. Thank you!! Wondering what reel(s) you are using and if you might consider a video on various reels and why you have chosen the ones you are using> Much appreciated! Keep up the cool vids!
We haven’t jigged much in Tofino but we did one episode where we jigged up live squid and then mooched for salmon. While we were jigging the squid we ended up jigging up salmon as well. We also did an episode showing how we jig for salmon and what our method is but that was in Parksville.
Great episode, and love the tips. A question for you, ive learned that with spoons, especially, its possible to do a release with a gaff...once you know how (and its taken me quite a bit of practice). I see you do the release with the pliers, any reason you chose not to do the gaff release?
Not any real reason but sometimes if the fish is small and laying cooperatively and we can see the hook we will opt for the pliers. Gaff releases are a great method and we highly encourage them. We actually have a video coming out very soon on "How to do a Gaff Release" and why it is the best method for preservation of the fish. Keep it up and thanks for watching!
Hi BM Enjoy every single one of your videos. You are living the dream. I wish I could troll around by myself with 2 balls down like you do in your Kingfisher. Unfortunately without the luxury of auto pilot and or a rear helm controls it aint happening.
Holy Mack!!!! If this doesn’t get your fishing blood flow’n, don’t know what will!!!! Gonna run out the door up to Parksville and buy a Kingfisher, wife will find out next month when the bank statements show up!!!!😂🤣😆🎣🎣🎣
In tidal waters, there is no limit to the number of fishing rods you may use. In rivers, streams and the tidal waters of the Fraser River, there is a limit of one rod per fisher.

Watching your double header "dance" was great. This gets me pumped for the upcoming salmon season!

Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it. Countdown is on! Hope you have a great trip!
Great episode Mo, one thing I can’t fish solo without is my Scotty net minder, keeps the bag from getting caught on things 😎
Yes we definitely got a couple of those after this episode. Great product and we love Scotty! Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching. Glad you’re enjoying the videos! Great idea and will do.
you definitely thought about telling the camera guy to grab one of the rods 😂
He may have had to sneak in a couple cranks while in the rod holder…. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video. It was great fishing that water colour. Do you ever jig salmon around Tofino ?

Effishiency is key lol 😅
Absolutely! Thanks for watching
the reel question is why don't you have any friends?
That is a good question....
Is this at Portland point
are you able to run two rods in Canada or is it because your cameraman is on board?

@@ReelWestCoast nice, wish it was that way here in Washington
