What is Dreamlight Valley?
Disney Dreamlight Valley is a life sim game similar to games like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. In it, you'll help your favorite Disney characters re-build Dreamlight Valley and bring it back to its former glory. If you like cozy games like ACNH and Stardew, but wish you could spend time with your favorite Disney characters, Dream Light Valley is for you.

Since the update it seems that critters also have a chance to drop dream shards when given a food they simply "like" rather than just the ones they "love." I have to imagine that the chances are even BETTER with foods they love, but test it out for yourself and let me know! 💜
The calico bunny is only available from 8am to 2pm on certain days.
And the fox's don't like talipia fish I tried, he shook his head no lol.
But every other kind they like.
Hsvnt tried tuna yet though. I yhink they just font like extra stinky fish 🐟 is my guess. Makes sense.
Last thing, you can get Moanas per pig from the movie too after doing her memory quest. Game doesn't tell you, you have it. But you do. He's super cute too. 😍

There is actually another way to see the list of critters you've gotten which also provides more information. If you go into the collections section, then to Critters, there's the list of everything. Once you've "obtained" the critter, it will show the red dot but also the picture of it will be more....solid for lack of a better word. The other thing about that page is that you can hover over a critter which not only tells what biome it's in, but whether it's there that day or not. So that way if you're looking for a specific one, you can tell without going there. Oh, and the Ravens pretty much always say "Not here today".
Also, favorite foods will speed up how quickly a critter is obtained but their non-favorites definitely take longer than twice.
I feel as though some might take more than two because I've fed the foxes quite a few times and still have yet to obtain one. There are also unique pets you can unlock through certain characters, don't want to spoil anything for those who don't know but it was a nice surprise.

Same I thought it was a bug or something because I assumed all of them only needed feeding twice. I''ve fed all the ravens a million times and I only have 1 of them

The gators just run from me the entire time it’s exhausting they never stop running
Dont chase them! Slowly approach them, when they stick their head up to look around, take a few steps (1-3 steps) towards them. They will then put their head down to the ground, thats when you stop.
Repeat the process until you get close enough! Went from taking me 10-12min on a gator to 2min tops.

There can be up to 3 critters /biome. The third ones usually are the timed ones. And ro see what critters are spawned you can open collection menu and choose critters. There you'll see which ones are spawned.

I started playing few days ago and was so suprised realizing that one of the squirrels is now fallowing me everywhere XD. I thought it was a glitch and was glad that was happening till next update probably. I’m so happy to hear this is ACTUALLY a feture❤.

Everyone I've heard from says they also haven't found the crows. So either, they haven't actually been added, are hidden behind a quest we haven't gotten yet, or are just extremely elusive lol.

Side note, I have never fed a squirrel peanuts because I was unaware of them being in the game and eventually I did get all of them as pets, through raspberries. I too want that beautiful blue fox.
Some of the critters are on a schedule, you can check the collection to see who is there that day and what time frame they’ll show if they’re not

Orchid Sunbird does NOT love (favorite) Orange Houseleek. It loves the Houseleek. The orange one is simply liked.
Also, if you give a fox a Salmon instead of a Sturgeon, they can drop IRON INGOTS! Score!
The black squirrel loves blueberries.
It still seems like nobody has found the Ravens... I wonder if it's a bug that they're missing? They are meant to be in the Forgotten Lands, but even with it unlocked they don't seem to be around.
*Also, the recent patch changed getting Dreamlight Shards from companions, you now also get them from giving critters what they like, instead of just from what they love. :) I've tamed multiple sunbirds just by using the Orange Houseleeks!
Yeah. I haven't seen a single raven/crow yet and I've been grinding my pumpkin farm for days there. Hopefully they fix it.
They dont seem to be added yet but you can actually check in the collection/ critter screen which critters are active each day and at which times if you didnt know about that
It doesn’t look like they even have a render in the game yet. If you look at the collections screen, they’re all 2D images and not a 3D model.
There not in game yet, they will be released with the lion king DLC in the coming months
I think the raven are bugged, just like the fishing spots in Sunlit Plateau.
I gave a turtle a squid because i had 4 squids in my pocket, but no seaweed.
I thought "Well, sea turtles like squid in real life, maybe it will like this." Then it gave me a dream shard.
I couldn’t figure out why the only critters I’m able to feed are the squirrels, I thought I need to progress in the story or something. Thank you so much!!

This was such a helpful video 😌 I finally got a sea turtle yesterday. Now time to start the grind on getting them all!!!! Are ravens just not spawning? I haven’t encountered any in the last week I’ve played. 🤔
I'm also not encountering any ravens at this time, but I'm looking forward to seeing them and discovering their favorite snack!

When the game is available for free, I would like to get the grey rabbit since I have one in real life 😊 I find some of this animals could have been made a tad bit cuter though 😅 Also, I love the strawberry pink color palette of your character ! Btw I'm wondering why the ponytail hairstyle is so popular... 🤔 It's the one I want for my character aswell but I feel like 90% creators uses it 😂 anyway, definetely subscribing to your channel 😊
The foxes are actually picky. They seem to only accept white sturgeon. I gave them a bass and they refused it. You can also get Moana’s pig as a companion.

It's not a guarantee 2 times to get the critter. Idk how it's determined, but any critter can take well over 2 feedings to tame. I had to feed the foxes 6 times before they were tamed, and yes, i was feeding them them the sturgeon. Crocodiles took 5 times, racoons took 4. Weird part is the black squirrel took 3 times, yet i just fed the classic squirrel for the 6th time, but still have not tamed it. And YES, i have been giving them their favorite food. Idk if it's a bug/glitch or what, but this has been an issue for every critter in every biome. I have no idea when i'll tame each critter.
Just an FYI, you dont get them after 2 times, you CAN, but it's rare and not a guarantee.

The turtle was shy to me until I took its picture. Then it was friendly. I haven’t tried taking pictures of others yet but maybe that’s a thing?

I can guarantee from personal experience that foxes don't like ALL fish. I've tried giving them Carp, Herring, and Cod and they shook their head refusing to eat it each time and ran away. There goes my daily feeding, have to wait til the next day now.

I wondered that too, I feel like its cape or crown should leave a sparkle trail like the turtle does... (I mean the Fox is from the Ultimate and the turtle from the Deluxe, so it's a more expensive companion!)

Oh no, once you've acquired them they're yours forever. They live in the same menu that the Founder's Pack pets live. 😊
When you fed the sunbird at 4:26 it didn't drop a dreamshard or a motif bag, does that mean it wasn't the favorite food? Or is a crystal a possible drop when feeding favorite food?
They have a chance to drop shards not as they will drop shards with their favorite foods
I got other things from the same gray raccoon beside shards with blue berries so it's a chance
Some subirds she fed didnt get their favorite food
If you give foxes salmon there's a chance they'll give iron ingot
Is anybody getting worms to spawn around ponds? I had 2 spawn when Maui’s quest came up but not a single dig spot since than.
I have a quest bugged.. Need to pick up a train, a bowling pin, and a light bulb.. But the lightbulb is stuck in wall-e's house, really annoying

I don’t think the Ravens are in the game yet. In the collections screen they appear to be 2D images, and not 3D models.
Can you unlock them with liked food, or do you HAVE to give them loved food? Cos I don't wanna have to get a billion lobster or sturgeons to tame the crocs or fox

the critters must be bugged for me, they dont act like they do for you, they just run constantly, no stopping and bobbing or playing red light green light. I can be totally still and they just run away constantly. they only time ive been able to get the approach to appear is by spamming it and it bugs out and forces the interaction sometimes, but thats it xD

Ravens don't seem to be in the game yet as far as I can tell. If you have any tips about how/where to find them please do share! I did a lot of researching going into this video and decided to simply talk about them at a later date once they were added (or at least easier to find). 😅

Actually the hummingbirds aren't as picky as most people think. They will love any flower you give them as long as it's the same color as them so you're half right but it doesn't need to be those specific flowers.

Fox - white sturgeon
