I can check on that for you. It works with the 150a controller but will check to see if it works with the stock 35ah controller. You may need a step down but I'll check.
I regret doing that tbh because I thought the 3kw would be enough for my needs which it was. Although with my old battery setup I wasn't getting the range I desired especially on longer rides and didn't want to weigh down the motor with more battery weight. At least with the 5kw I know it can handle the weight and capacity of the full frame.
When you added the upgraded to the 5k motor kit and the new controller, was that a huge expense like in the $4k range? I have a Juiced Bikes Hyperscrambler2 and in the future, I would like to upgrade the power.
You're actually pretty spot on...the bike itself was about 2100...and with the upgraded motor, controller, and battery came out to about $4k. Juiced bikes I believe share the same dropout size as the Ariel Rider so swapping the motor should work.
Great build, a few questions... 1. How tall are you. 2. How much do you weigh. 3.What is the total cost of the build. I am looking to replace my car with an ebike for obvious reasons, and me being 6'2" 275lbs, It's obvious I'm going to need some upgrades to this bike if I get one. Being from NY as well, I will definetly need something that can take hills with no problem, and with a range of 35 to 40 miles max. 70mph is nice, but not really neccesary. Thanks for the info.
I actually don't have pedal assist installed on this it's just all throttle. If I baby the throttle and ride conservatively I can get close to 55/60 miles per charge

Thats awesome! I specially want to know how to get the headlight conversion? I have Himiway oclet and Troxus skyhopper. What I wanna do is to convert the headlight to moto looking headlight. I got the light but the wiring is what holding back at the moment. your work is inspiration to what to do to my bikes. Thanks!
Great looking bike I would love to have one but could never afford one one of the best one,s ive seen on youtube videos
Can you tell me more about that lock kit and alarm and where can I get one? i own a 52v myself. Found that alarm that locks the wheel and it doesnt go anywhere or locks with it.
I can check on that for you. It works with the 150a controller but will check to see if it works with the stock 35ah controller. You may need a step down but I'll check.
@@JB360_NYC thanks! Also awesome set up and video! Got me inspired for my own build…
Very cool. I'm just wondering why you didn't skip the 3k motor and go straight to the 5k in the first place?
I regret doing that tbh because I thought the 3kw would be enough for my needs which it was. Although with my old battery setup I wasn't getting the range I desired especially on longer rides and didn't want to weigh down the motor with more battery weight. At least with the 5kw I know it can handle the weight and capacity of the full frame.
That's crazy 70mph
I'm 5'10 and weigh about 200. The total cost of the bike with upgrades comes out to about $6000
Great video .Pls link to the mirror
beautiful. What about the rear shock, could you share a link ? thanks !
This is actually the stock rear shock from Ariel Rider
Man, your setup is great. How does it do in wet conditions?
Pretty good imo, the dual sport tires handle slick rain pretty well
May I ask if you baby it along like a regular bike w pedal assist, how many miles can you get on that?
I actually don't have pedal assist installed on this it's just all throttle. If I baby the throttle and ride conservatively I can get close to 55/60 miles per charge
How’s this bike on hills. What type of speeds are you averaging
No issues on hills. It picks up to 50-55 on hills.
I love your build. It looks fabulous. How does it handle inclines and hills. I hope your pooch is all OK.
Hey JB hope you feel better man. I was wondering what kind of key switch did you use on the Ariel Rider.
I actually don't have a key start for the x-class. The only key switch is actually for the light kit.
@JB360_NYC I'm currently running 3000 watt with 60 amp controler Ariel Rider looking to do a keyed on and off switch. Thank You and hope your leg heals fast. 🙏🏿🙏🏿 Let the MINI ROCKET GO!!👍🏿👍🏿
Hey JB, sweet build bro. I heard that you parallel your battery setup so are you able to use the e-brake feature on the sabvoton controller at the same time?
Correct the e-brake feature still works.
Hey, where did you buy those battery bags that go in the center? They look really good for storage
There's a guy by the name of Bobby on Instagram that makes the bags

Hi is the alarm easy to install. Do you have a video of the installation
Yes very easy to install, takes like 5 seconds. Plug and play and you just need to connect it to the Sabvoton controller alarm/lock cable.
Hey JBL 360 am in the works of making my 48v Ariel Rider X-Class to a 72v I have just bought the 3000w 80A Motor kit from E -street bike's that am waiting on I also bought the light kit to put turn signals on my bike from E -street bike's I have also bought Shinkos SR735 front and rear tires i have also but that same headlight you have on your bike in this video what brakes and rotors would you recommend and link's so I can purchase them?

I was thinking about the sabvoton 200a. What d you think? Overkill?
@@marvinlewis1879 that should be plenty and if it's too much you can always dial down the amps.
Can you do a video of how you mounted your controller under the seat? I would think it would get wet and dirty with the connections being exposed.
That should be coming soon which will be featured on Sal's channel. It actually wasn't that bad since there were screw mounts from the battery pack before
is there a link to the LOCKING wheel lock??

Is the locking wheels safety feature (after locking from key fob) a kit or it comes with the bike it self? That information wasn’t clear
It actually comes with the motor kit. Just make sure you request it before placing the order with Sal. You can also find the security device on AliExpress, and are usually plug and play with most controllers.
sick setup bruh
Can you share the total build cost?
Total cost of the stock bike + upgrades comes to about $5500.
I cant seem to find that full frame battery online. Do you have a link for it?
For sure! Here it is

can you put a link where you got the motor kit from?
For sure! I got mine from here

when upgrading an e-bike that was already an e-bike, should I buy a conversion kit? or just a motor, battery, and controller?
Most conversation kits usually come with just the motor and controller and you would have to get the battery separately. I kind of like it that way because the conversion kits that come with the battery usually have a pretty crappy battery with it.
Now this is how electric bikes SHOULD be.
60mph awesomeness
Please tell me you upgraded shocks , brakes and springs.
Absolutely! New rotors, calipers, rear spring..very comfortable ride at high speeds especially
@@JB360_NYC Do you mind adding them to your list?
My rule for safe riding is, the bike should not weigh less than you.
You should put an awd set up on it with a 1.5 t motor on the front. you can get better efficiencys at different ranges of speed with 2 motors, and 2 motors will always be more efficient than one because of the square cube law
I'm still waiting on someone to build this ^

How does your bike not move when you set that Alarm I want this!
Hey JB, currently putting together my 5000w kit on my x-class, kind of trying to replicate your build lol. How did you fasten the torque arm on the side of the dropout with the gears? I don't see a way to fit the bolt in there without it hitting the smallest cog. Thanks in advance!
Yea for the gear side there are a couple spots you kinda have to gauge. The best spot is right above the smallest cog, it actually won't touch the small screw for the torque arm.
@@JB360_NYC Oh I see. So did you use a nut on the inside part of the dropout to keep the screw secure or is it just the threads of the screw keeping the torque arm secure?
@@peanutbasketr9217 yea you don't really need the bolt on the inside, just have a washer on the torque arm side and thread that screw in a couple of times and you're good.

How long does the battery last and take to charge 🤔
From a full charge normally, it would last about 2-2.5 hours, riding normal and not maxing out the throttle. To charge to full takes about 4-5 hours to charge.
@@JB360_NYC only 2.-2.5 hours ? 🤔
what ended up being the range speciaally since maxing it out?
Haven't done a true range test yet which is in the works. Hoping to get some decent numbers riding aggressive.
