- Straying from the fashion pack, Cardi B gets ready for the Met Gala by wearing an avant-garde creation designed by Windowsen-one of fashion’s coolest emerging labels. At over 8 feet tall in 15-inch heels, Cardi literally stands above the rest at the Met. While getting fitted for prosthetics (that were ultimately scrapped for the final look) Cardi talks candidly about her feelings on cosmetic surgery and aging. Cardi also goes deep on her anxieties around socializing at the gala.

I believe it was because in different cameras the colour was different. Some cameras it was blue and others it was green. They wanted one color in every camera which black did
The turquoise was cheap looking in that dull fabric. Deep green like her nails would have been better.

The aged prosthetics would've taken this look where it needed to go, without it the look was just a large dress.
But she knew the public wouldn't read it the way she intended and would have flamed her [which they will do anyway -- touché]. That said, I agree the aged prosthetics would have leaned into the theme.

@@AllaboutTheCalm478 Unfortunately, Cardi can’t just think about the “Fashion Girls”. She is thinking about the Social Media attack culture. You know as well as I do that the Stan/Attack culture would have flamed her; despite the theme of the Met. Cardi has already made it clear [in interviews] that she can be very sensitive to criticism, and I suspect she was not willing to take that risk. She doesn’t not always have the tough skin of, like Lady Gaga, who would have lend ALL THE WAY into it. That said, I would say she still pushed the limits of what SHE felt comfortable doing, and WE [who were not invited] need to respect that.

This was on theme, she was a black rose, and the theme is more about the death of the story and how dark it is.

Yea I agree. I was a little disappointed when I saw her look because she normally devours the met gala. I've learned to appreciate the look more, once people started pointing out that it was black rose and maleficent inspired. I think people will probably remember the emeralds more than the dress.
