Wow. The rank structure, particularly the NCO grades, have changed quite a bit since my days as a cadet. Those days being the mid to late 1980s. The highest cadet NCO was Master Sergeant. After that you took your Mitchell Exam. On passing the Mitchell you became a Cadet Flight Officer C/FO. The rank insignia was a gold pip. After that, the next achievement was 2Lt. Also, back then if you were the First Sergeant (a position I held for a year) the officers (including some senior members) called you either First Sergeant or First Shirt. Rule of thumb was that if you were being called First Sergeant, these was an issue or problem to be dealt with. Being called First Shirt meant it was just a casual question or comment. This brings back quite a few memories. In my opinion those are the best things about having been a CAP cadet, the memories and friends you make.
Hi, I recently promoted to Technical Sergeant and I'm now the flight sergeant for a flight of recruits. I told them if they can't contact anybody from our squadron and have a question they can check your channel for help. Your videos were useful to me as a recruit/airman so I figured it can be of use them to.
can somebody tell me what the deal is with the miniature medals. Are they only for senior members??
The miniature medals are for wear on mess dress only, which is exclusively worn by senior members. The medals are also pretty expensive!
