    This video is jarring my memory of being stationed there 1982-83 and the f-15s would fly over our barracks day and night and it never got old.

    My sim is stationed at Mountain Home and these F15E’s are up every day doing their thing. The F-15 is still a formidable fighter and looks menacing.

    The f-15 is around 40 years old and still is relevant. The f14 had many problems initially with the engines. The f15 was pretty much perfect from the start.

    • @Emlizardo
      @Emlizardo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The F-14 was amazing but, in addition to the initial engine teething pains you mention, it was just a very difficult plane to maintain.

    But to the point of this video. Think about it. The F15 eagle was designed and built back in the 1970s. The fact that they are still being built and have been upgraded/updated 50 years later tells you that they are possibly the most perfect all around fighter/air superiority/ground attack aircraft ever designed and built. It still holds the record for thrust to weight ratio from the deck to 30 thousand feet. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Just polish 'em and keep them flying. Notice to our enemies, good luck.

      They can't turn like an F22 or F16, but in every other category they are superior. Aside from radar profile, but they'll take you out before you see them anyway....

However, the rank of the crew chief and assistant crew chief aren't just Senior Airman (SRA), but could be SSGT (Staff Sergeant) or even Airman First Class (A1C), but usually an A1C won't be a DCC (Dedicated Crew Chief), but ACC. what is the purpose of assymetric loadout as shown at 01:08

    • @shaneduc
      @shaneduc ปีที่แล้ว

      You asking why the sidewinder is on the inside and the aim 120 on the out side?
      The Aim120 weights over 300 lbs and is a two man job or a lift truck. With the sidewinder it's lighter. And I'd easier to load on the inside station espely if there is a gas bag or weapons all ready on the CFT station. The sidewinder weights about 1/3 of a AIM120.

    • @DCS_World_Japan

    • @bigdee8189
      @bigdee8189 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're referring to the single seat F-15C Eagle! THAT plane is mainly air superiority! These Jets are F-15E Strike Eagles...which is a two seat strike fighter for mainly air to ground missions...which is why the back seater is the WSO (Weapons Systems Officer). The Strike Eagles is designed to destroy enemy ground targets, but still carries Sidewinders and an internal 20mm Vulcan cannon for air to air targets!
