I arrived to FRA from AMM 6 months ago and they have you re-go through security screening before being able to connect. 1 hr transfer times not enough. Especially during rush hour.
Great content and wonderful explanation graphics you did on this posted video to visually walk through quickly in Terminal 1, where the Lufthansa arrival gate was located at. Then walking through it all to Baggage Pick-up. It would be very helpful to the viewers, to look up and see the map of the airport on-line and then watch his video at reading his typed out details, on where to go as you navigate through the Terminals 1 & 2, Security Check Point(s) and then walking toward your Alphabetical Letter(s) of: A - E & Z Gates throughout Frankfurt International Airport.
Anyone can enlighten me? 1. I am flying from Singapore to Tromso via Frankfurt Airport (LH), is 4 hours layover enough time (not too hectic)? 2. Do I have to claim my luggage and recheck in or can I just go through immigration again without needing to check in my luggage again? 3. What's the best restaurant/café to have a nice German meal?
We have a 1:45hr connection time with Lufthansa from Newark Airport to another Lufthansa bound for Lisbon, is that enough time with the bus rides and possible security & immigration checks, we certainly hope so. Last minute change caused by Air Canada announcement of likely shutdown because of labor issues.
Did you make it? I have a 1h20m layover also flying from Newark to Frankfurt but then to Amsterdam, just wondering how long the process took for you, and I got time to make it?
Thanks for the video. Im flying in a month with lufthansa, im from south africa, connecting in frankfurt to go to amsterdam. Both my flights are with lufthansa How do i know if im supposed to pick up my checked baggage and check it in again ? Can you please guide me throughthe process, i am so lost. Never flown before. Thank you
It depends on whether you bought the tickets together or separately, if you purchased the flight from SAF - FRA - AMS as one flight/ticket then they should take the bags directly from SAF-AMS without you having to pick them up in between, so you drop off the bags at the baggage drop off at your first departure airport and pick them up in Amsterdam (they will be transferred from your first flight to your second flight for you). If you purchased SAF-FRA and then FRA-AMS (separately) then you will almost definitely have to pick up your bags from the baggage carousel in FRA and check them back in at the baggage drop off before your next flight yourself. If there are any uncertainties you can ask the staff at the service desk wherever you depart from when dropping off your bags as to whether they need to be re-checked in Frankfurt and they should be able to tell you what is required. If you are worried, you can always use airtags and place them on your luggage beforehand to track them for peace of mind
Thank you for the video. It was very clear where to go after getting off the plane from a non-Schengen country. I do have a question. I'm traveling from the US into Frankfurt and I have 2 hours from my arrival to catch the Lufthansa Express Bus. Do you think that will be enough time for the transfer? I'm debating checking or not checking a bag.
Hi. Thanks for the video showing the process. I’m will flying home to Houston with Lufthansa starting Budapest with connecting flight in Frankfurt (after 2 hours layover) then to Houston. After arriving in Frankfurt 8am on Sunday), what terminal will the flight typically arrives in? After that, can I go to the gate for my connecting flight to Houston or do I need to get my luggage then go back through security/immigration, then get my boarding pass for the flight to Houston? Will 2 hours enough for me to go through all that activities for the flight to Houston? Will there be some service can be requested for people with mobility issues? Thanks.
Incredibly helpful thank you. My son is booked on one ticket with Lufthansa from EDI connecting in FRA then onto WAW. If I'm correct he will arrive into a non schengen gate in Terminal 1 (B20-63, C OR Z) then pass through immigration and onwards to either Gate A or B1-19 schengen departures. He only has 1 hour transfer time which I don't think is enough time but I am hoping to be proved wrong! Will he have to go through security again for hand luggage/liquids screening or will he be able to go straight to his gate after clearing immigration? Also assuming as on one ticket Lufthansa would transfer him to an alternative flight should he not make his scheduled connection. Many thanks
I will transit at FRA airport T1 but the ticket is remarked that need to reload the luggages but no need the custom process, I don’t understand where can I collect my luggages and reload?
I'm traveling for Singapore to Spain with Lufthansa airline and, I have a connection in Frankfurt airport. Is one hour enough to pass through border checks? I'm not from a European country. Thank you!
I will be reaching by Air India & have a connecting flight to Vancouver by air canada at Frankfurt terminal no1 after an overnight 15:30 hours of layover…..I need to collect my baggage & again re check in at air Canada counter….for this do I need transit visa?….. as I have canada visa…..pls advise
Sir i have Lithuania student TRP card, i am going to germany next week for a 3 days vacation, so what type of documents can immagration office can ask me
Help me please. It's going to be my first time in an airport, how do i navigate to not miss my flight? I have a 3hr connection in frankfurt to Nigeria. I'm having anxiety already. Will be travelling soon. Thanks
Once at Frankfurt airport, read the signs carefully and know your next gate. Check monitors for your next gate and do not rely on a gate stamped on your printed boarding pass. Do these 2 things and you will not end up in the wrong area. When in doubt, just ask someone before going any further. It will be ok 👍🏻

Hai Sir/Maam i am travelling to Phlippines from uk and lay over in Frankfurt ternminal 1 and departing again to Bangkok do i need to go in Immigration and Passport Control? I bought a ticket, as self transfer. i dont have any check Baggage...just only bagpack . Please Guide me i am firstimer to travell in FRA Thank you
I'm travelling from uk to frankfurt terminal 2 then to Algeria from termina 1 , I have permanent residence of the uk do I have to pass through security check again? If yes ,Are they going to ask me for transit visa?
At FRA Terminal 1, security is completed at the gates so you would need to go through security again. Whether you need a transit visa is completely independent of whether you need to go through security check again.
Thank you so much for the great video. Soon I'll have a flight from Lyon, France to Yerevan, Armenia, by Lufthansa both flights, one ticket, please advise if at Frankfurt I need to go straight through transit? Or will need to go through passport controck check-in again? Having Shengen visa. First time at this huge airport, so a little worried with the time (will have 3 hours there).
In Frankfurt, you will go through passport control to exit the Schengen Area. There will be no need to go through check in again and you should not have to go through security checks again either.
@@OnTimeReports Thank you for your reply, things are clearer now :) Is this passport control different from the exist one? I mean following the endicators should find the right one and not the one that goes for the exit?
Thank you for this Can you guide if there is a baggage security check when we enter from a non schengen arrival ( middle east ) and need to go to schengen departure ? And if we have the same flight lufthansa is 1 h 55 m enough for the transfer ?
You will have to go through security again and as you'll come from an non-sterile country. 115 minutes is sufficient time to do a non-Schengen to Schengen transfer.
@@OnTimeReports thanks alot really am worried as Frankfurt airport is so big. One more thing it does say that there are fast lanes for security , do you have an experience using it if the connecting flight is starting to board ?
I was there last week. All escalators were down. And the connection gates always seem the furthest apart. Good thing I'm healthy. Not an airport for the obese or short legged. LOL.

If you need to collect your checked baggage during a transfer, then you will follow the signs for baggage claim, not connections.

I'll be taking the Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Berlin , But I have only 1 hour to Re-check in. Is this time sufficient enough? or No
