Found this video while searching for content on the Fantomen after seeing it in action at a Ghost show. The demo of its sonic capabilities was very good but the playing was even better! Those are some serious skills. 🤘
On paper it seems to be almost identical with Super Swede. I wonder what are the main differences besides the body shape because the guitar prices are not in same range.
I owned an played a Gibson RD Artist for over 30+ years (on which the body shape of instrument is obviously based). My RD was a fantastic instrument but waaaaay to heavy. After 30+ years my back and shoulder could no longer endure the weight. I hope this guitar does not suffer from a similar problems. It sounds great!
Do you feel like the bridge coil split has any difference at all? I for the life of me cannot hear a difference. I can in the neck and middle but not with only the bridge.
Great demo! Recently picked up one of these. One of the tone knobs fell off and it look like there's some sort of screw or something on the side to tighten it to the post to secure it. I've tried really a small hex tool, flat and Philips head and none connected to tighten or loosen. Any idea what the proper tool and size is?
Thank you, it's a while since I filmed this but my guess is probably one of the mini Allen keys you would use to change saddle height with. Let me know if it works! 🎸
Thanks man! The biggest differences I noticed were the Satin finish on the Ultra Max vs the Gloss on the Fantomen, and the overall body shape, with the Ultra Max feeling smaller. Weight wise I think they're fairly similar from what I can remember of the Ultra, this one is possibly a little heavier. The neck dimensions feel very similar with identical scale length and radius, and sound wise I think both could cover a fairly similar array of tones. It's worth mentioning this has 2 volumes and 2 tones whereas the Ultra has a Master for each but I that's more of a preference thing.
@@spookyspooks7567 Yeah, it arrived last saturday with cracks on the fretboard near the headstock and I returned it. Waiting for a new one but this time ordered the hardcase. The guitar is very comfortable to play and sounds great. If you order one be sure to buy the Hagstrom C 47 case.
Awesome working demo of the guitar, loved it!
@@t.n.patronis4098 thank you 🎸
These guitars are absolutely beautiful!

Thank you! 🙏🎸
Ever since I saw Ghost play the RDs, I wanted one so bad. Then I saw them use these and saw their price and I've been tempted for years
Brilliant guitar! Well played.
Thank you!
I am seriously thinking about buying one of these.

Awesome video mate, I didn’t realise it was based on the RD. fantastic range of tones on it.
Thanks mate, yeah it does much more than just the heavier side of things

Same thing happened to me. Just get any old hex set and one of the smaller ones work.
I cant gear the difference between all of the bridge splits
They really should have used black screws on the guard and the pickup rings
Waiting on black friday, I want the white one
How does it conpare to the Ultra Max, aound wise, playing wise, weight...? Grrat videos!

@@jamesfranklandguitar thank you! Great videos, watched them all several times. Such a phenomenal player
@@goncaloferreira72 Thanks man, I appreciate it!
Are these heavy guitars?
From what I can remember there was a bit of weight to this one it but nothing majorly heavy to cause concern
Wich one is better for metal - Ultra Swede or Fantomen?
To answer my own question - waiting for my Fantomen to arrive next week :)
@@BoyanGeorgiev666 did it arrive? What do you think about it?

If you like to play shreddy solos, Ultra Swede. Fantomen upper fret acces is just mega ass
@@nesfan8 Got myself an excellent Swede Dark Black King, amazing guitar!
Pickups are too high to adjust the intonation screws. Very odd design.
I wish you would do all this through a valve amp and without all the reverb and delay. Otherwise, thank you :-)
this is great, how did you get the sustain sound to it? thank you!
