Tried several ones, they are great but in some way maybe to "classic" for modern players (talking about finishes or the weight for example😅) and on the other hand they are to "Not-Gibson" for the traditional fanboys..maybe :D
The blue one is definitely better on camera, but I’d probably prefer the black in person. Hagstrom is on the short list for my next guitar. I might even be willing to part with my Epi custom, if I were able to play either of the Swedes in person.
The Hagstrom stuff is startlingly underrated. The H-II & H-III guitars in particular, but also the Impala & Condor, which are just the nicest garage guitars with interesting tones. Loving that you're going through their current releases as much as you have been, Henning
Not that it matters much but the differences compared to the Swede is the scale length and the bridge pickup. This one has an A5 in the bridge, still designed by Lundgren
I have one with a spalted maple top. Every time I pick it up, I'm surprised how the neck feels. It's a unique thing. Very smooth, very effortless. The guitar wants to be played and is making it really easy on you.
I have a Hagström Alvar and I love it. Ever since I put some Duesenberg Domino P90s in it, it is by far my main guitar. No guitar I had in my hands after that could ever reach it!
Very nice guitar, and i like the color! Some older version of the Super Swede was actually on my purchase list, but then i decided to get a Duesenberg Caribou instead which is also very good but also much more expensive. Especially the longer scale is nice to have for lower tunings, i'd totally buy this over a "normal" Les Paul.
I have a 12 year old Hagstrom Super Swede and absolutely love it! It didn’t come with their current model pickups . At the time they had something equivalent to Epiphone burst buckers so I replaced them with Bartolini’s! It is my current favorite single cut! And I do have a few Gibson’s they really don’t hold a candle to the Super Swede!
Ive always dug the hagstrom swede since discovered that larry coryell used that guitar on The Eleventh House featuring larry coryell album.1974.one if my favorite all time albums.always wanted one since.few years ago i bouth a super swede.this guitar is my wife.we will never ever get a divorce!
Man, today I played both: at first the swede (the classic LP scale) and i thought "man, what a great guitar." It feels great, it plays great it has great features and it looks also amazing. I was sure i grab it. Story twist: Then they handed me the Super Swede and i was just blown away. I played just one more song and threw the dealer my bank card on the desk: it was no way not to grab that thing. The sound is so powerfull and cutting through it. The higher output Bridge PU blow my mind out but also the neck PU is great. The split coil sounds are the best, the best what i habe heared so far not genuinely beeing a single coil.
First I really like your reviews! Do you get to keep the guitars after your reviews? And now to the serious question: if no, will you buy one? Anyway, always fun to see someone actually reviewing Hagström guitars! My first serious electric guitar was the Super Swede Tremolo and a swede myself, I'm probably a little bit bias towards Hagströms...
I think the Maple neck with the T-bar rod, "Resonater wood" FB and Stainless frets give it the bright snappy tone much more than does the scale length.
I prefer 25.5 for single note and 24 3/4 for chords. I guess I need a double neck! I'm a nobody, so no one would probably make me one. 😢 lol. 😎🤓 Nice shirt your wearing today.
It would be nice if you would have showed how bridge eliminated sympathetic vibrations in the strings. I don't have this guitar and of course can't test it but I would be surprised if the bridge actually made any meaningful difference, let alone eliminate the sympathetic vibrations. At the end of the way the strings are still coupled to each other via several different mediums that can transfer vibrations, like the body and the air around the strings.
Could it be used for some C-standard doom and death goodness? I've just put it in my Thomann shopping card and boom, your review popped up 😎 I like the blood red/black variant of this model
For Doom I'd recommend the Hagstrom Swede with the shorter scale length than the Super Swede. It's the same guitar, just with a shorter scale length which is more suitable for Doom.
Hey H.P. I love your content but it sounds like a normal Powerstrat with 2 Humbuckers. What is the scale-length? 25,5 inches? I am going to stay with my LP by Tokai which I modded on my channel. 24,75 are much easier to bend. And believe me you do not want to hear me bending on a 25,5in neck ;-)
Man I'd love to buy one of these guitars, but they just aren't available in my country! I'd have to pay some very expensive shipping to South Korea. Maybe one day.
What's with that 100Hz buzz you have at high gain? Why does everyone assume this is OK, and that it's just something you have to live with? I hear it on all sorts of professional demos, including Pete Thorn. Please fix it. Seriously, it doesn't have to be there.
The funny thing is, even if you get this (and why wouldn't you, there's clearly not a single improvement over this companies like the big G could offer you for substantially more money), to anyone with the exception of snobby guitar players (as in a small sub-group of guitar players, not that all guitar players are snobby), you'll *still* look like Slash. If they'll even know who Slash is. Because nobody except snobby guitar players actually cares what decal is on the headstock.

Longer scale? This most probably is, why baritone guitars are so extremely popular.... ;-) Joking aside, my favorite guitar is my (pickup) modded Steinberger with longer scale and a sound, which for me is the perfect blend between Les Paul, SG and Power Strat. Hagström guitars certainly are good sounding guitars, but their fake-retro look is not at all my taste, something always hurts my eyes and their design is not unique enough, to be in some way really different and outstanding, innovative anyway not at all. At least not for me. So why should I buy a Swede or Super Swede, if a Gibson/Epiphone Les Paul, PRS SE or even an Ibanez Artist anyway looks much better?
He loves it!..shocking!...Another "review" were hes getting paid(his words).he didnt even take a minute to see how many colors it comes in?....so in order to have a honest review channel, you have to be rich or given the guitars..this guy chooses to be paid..this life is easy to make money when you dont have morals

If you had seen enough of my videos you’d know that I point out the problems of there are any. But you haven’t.
After watching many reviews of lots of gear, by many reviewers, I would disagree.... Henning never shys away from pointing out flaws and shortcomings. He's gained my trust as a very honest man, and I am happy that he is making a living doing what he loves without compromising his morality. Fantastic reviews and arguably the best audio video production on TH-cam. Cheers Henning!!
Full honesty I don't really trust when the rep from the company drops off the guitar game companies do this with video games literally every single time there's gonna be a turd. Not saying it's not awesome as it likely is but no way you got an assembly line version
Resonance. Ever tried to use a tuning fork on a pillow? A beerbelly? Sausage fingers? "Resonance" is a load of marketing crap... Now play it, and shut it...! P.S. My Fernandes APG-80, which has a bolt-on neck, has better sustain then my "G LP" (the real deal. It's a 2001 Std.). Go figure...
PS: and hagström can keep this ugly headstock. It is pitty because the body and the guitars a very good to tune down to C. Much better than a LesPaul with 24,75in.
Hagstrom guitars are mighty fine instruments But they are never going to gain mainstream appeal a bit like the G and L guitars somthing😮 is not quite right with their headstock designs it's as if they have conceeded and give over pushing the design envelope ✉️. I don't understand why Hagstrom is such an underrated guitar brand. They make awesome guitars for a very competitive price.
Tried several ones, they are great but in some way maybe to "classic" for modern players (talking about finishes or the weight for example😅) and on the other hand they are to "Not-Gibson" for the traditional fanboys..maybe :D
And Elvis played one!
I own three Hagstroms: Swede f, Tremar Viking, and an Impala. All tons of fun. Easy to play, fantastic range of tones, and wonderfully addictive.
I have an 40 year old Hagstrom bass guitar.. it has sounded solid like a P-bass all these years.. neck has stayed perfect .. thank you ! ☺️
The blue one is definitely better on camera, but I’d probably prefer the black in person. Hagstrom is on the short list for my next guitar. I might even be willing to part with my Epi custom, if I were able to play either of the Swedes in person.

Some of the best playing I've seen form you in a while so it must have inspired you to play with more joy.
Hagstroms are the main stay of my guitars. I have many from 1974 until present. The all play and sound amazing. They are Les Paul killers.

Very cool guitar. Sounds great.
Your playing didn't hurt (as usual).

I love my Super Swede. It just works great and does everything I want from it.
I have an older, left handed super swede and it's fantastic

Coil tap, not tab.

Atmo/folk black metal legend Panopticon uses the Super Swede I think & he plays in quite a low tuning
