I feel that you bring up the mystical and spiritual element of Liszt's music with your interpretation, it feels like an inner prayer. Beautiful playing!
Beautiful and captivating performance! Love the varied tonal colors and imagination in your playing. I listened to several recordings before coming across your interpretation. Your playing and beautiful sound really caught my musical ear. Thank you!
This is absolutely superb! I had goosebumps in many sections. The shimmering colors and beauty truly captivate me in this interpretation. What a truly wonderful performance!
This is played so sensitively and beautifully you really give a good impression on this piece I paly this piece but you have given me many ideas on how to improve my technique on this piece and I thank you
Another wonderful performance! From 1:02 the value of the slightly slower tempo really pays off! (Interestingly, Leslie Howard believes that in this section the rhythm in the bass accompaniment twice written out should be used for the bars where it is simple written as arpeggio. What do you think?) Actually I don't think your tempi are that extreme in this piece for the most part - the only instance when I felt aware that "hmmm, this is really different" is the processional "Piú lento" - but even that one felt right. I love the dissonances in this section and the slow tempo brings them out in a beautiful way. Cheers!
Thank you very much for your comment. The question about the arpeggios is interesting. Looking at the documents that we have about Liszts' masterclasses in Weimar I think both options are there: either it is a conscious distinction or it is a model for similar passages. I guess the decision is up to the player, really... In any case, Liszt was very creative in his way to interpret his own works! And yes - Sposalizio is just an outstanding piece in terms of dissonances and refined harmonies!
Fabulous performance, indeed! Even if I really love Liszt I'm not familiar with this piece so I don't have any "bias" about tempo, and your performance sounded natural and perfect to my ears. Now, I'm very curious how I'll react to Sonetti and the Dante "Sonata" which I heard countless time from traditional pianists and "virtuosos". Happy Easter, btw.
Deep and full of emotion. Most excellent performing.
Thank you very much!
