Your knowledge is incomparable, and your synthesis is therefore remarkable. I look forward to the others videos in this set with impatience!

Thank you for your solution to arpeggiating the left hand chords on the first page of Sposalizio. I spent so much mental effort on it but never satisfied, always sounded like a bump no matter what. Also, the chain of descending 5ths always reminded me of church bells.

Can you please get Dr. Howard to do a video on Liszt Ballade no.2? I firmly believe it is Liszt's masterpiece, surpassing even his Sonata in many ways.

@@lisztcompetition wow i never expected a reply. thank you so much. this series as a whole has been incredible. and the 2nd ballade hasn't really been talked about much. Lots of fertile ground for analysis!

a very beautiful piece but the development and the transformation of the theme and the overall scale of the work doesn't compare to the b minor sonata. One of the most beautiful themes though in the b major section that is a clever transformation of the beginning theme.

17'00: a charming detail in this wonderful talk. Of course I did not know it but, after using for a few days the original edition (Haslinger) of the first piano version of the Sonetti, I just read in the cover "3 Sonetti di Petrarca composti per il clavicembalo". I thought Beethoven's sonatas were the last ones about "that"! Maybe Kenneth Gilbert was right considering an "eclipse" rather than a "disappearance" of the old instrument.
