It's called growling and it's nothing impressive once you realize there's more than hard rock with keyboards and discover this little genre called Death Metal..
The best Nightwish performance with Marko and Floor singing back and forth is in my view The Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from the performance in Buenos Aires. And the recent drummer Kai who took over from Yukka is giving a stellar performance too in that one special performance that Nightwish fans will never see again because Marko has left the band in 2021.
Hello Riana. I have to share this with a fellow South African Nightwish fan which sadly we are not to many around. Anyway I got introduced to Nightwish three years ago to Storytime Wacken 2013. As a seasoned Metal head I was totally blown away by their music and of course the metal queen herself Floor. Some stars aligned this year where myself and wifey are doing a trip to Europe. I booked in such a way that we could fit in the Nightwish concert in Gelsenkirchen Germany on the 12 June. And yes I had first booked Berlin but as luck may have it it was cancelled. I was totally shocked and devastated. But after that initial shock I managed to revise the bookings and flights and book Gelsenkirchen. Lost loads of our South African monopoly money but now we cannot wait for the 12th. Enjoy 💥💥💥💥
THEIR CREW! When their crew was laid off during 2020 when their Human Nature tour was postponed, their crew recorded an album under the name Crewish. And it is amazing. They recently released a second album. Both all full of nightwish covers and puns.
Marko is one of the best male metal singers out there by a long mile. He actually has his own band with fantastic songs that are worth reacting to. And he has done some fantastic singing in Nightwish and some great composing, besides amazing base playing.
Nightwish knows how to treat their crew. When they finish big sets and make DVD's, checkout the credits. They have credits all the way down to the drivers they had driving everyone around. They did a big online stream event during Covid and used the take to give to their crew because they knew that their crew members had been basically out of work this whole time while live shows were shutdown.
No reason to not keep doing it live for a while. Pink Floyd is my band too. And Nightwish is now too. Do check out the tribute of High Hopes. Marko sings lead on it. It is from 2005. When you do wish to get around to a music video, check out the most recent one, Noise. A great video, with a lot to take in and unpack. Enjoy the journey! One worth taking, believe me.
It's a strange phenomenon that many people have observed. Whatever Nightwish song you are currently listening to is your new favourite. Now, the sound. This is maybe the best recorded live show I have ever heard.
If you want to hear much more Marko from this show then I heartily recommend "Ghost River". Alternatively if you'd like a different show and a harder song where Marko sings then "Yours is an Empty Hope" live from Mexico City or Wembley 2015 is an absolute banger!🤘
i concur too, but i am sure in yours is an empty hope they will think its Marko doing the growling. Maybe not voice teachers but these guys we should tell them in front, Floor is always doing all the growling.
By the way, Floor just announced she is going to open for Metallica this Saturday in Amsterdam. Her recent solo stuff is much more mellow. Interested to see what she’ll do there.
I love that FLOOR is Multi-talented and has an interest in exploring her Artistry in Different genres. Keeps it Fresh for her and the audience. FLOOR is NOT a "johnny one-note" who can only do one thing.
Tnks for giving a shout out to their crew! Fan fact! During the pandemic, their crew formed the Crewish band and with Nightwish's blessing, they recorded covers of Nightwish songs in order to make money to suppoert themselves. Might be cool for you to react to them in the future. But it all goes to show you how cool of a band it is including their crew, like a big familly.
Yes that's Marko. His vocals are pure dynamite too. And she, yes high low.. even growling. The entire band is Gold. Tuonas, the key player created these masterpieces. They really can do it all, can't wait for the next song you hear. Great reaction once again. Thank u for that. Greetings from Finland. 🎶🔥🤘
Their crew or the majority of them have been with them for a very long time. They also supported their few during lockdown when they couldn’t work etc.
Hello again, guys. You are absolutely right. Nightwish is the rare band whose live performances are even better than their studio productions. They draw energy from the crowd, amplify it, and then feed it right back to their audience. Floor is the master of the stage in every way. Another great reaction from both of you to this banger of a song. This entire concert is legendary from show opener to closer. And they have done so many fantastic live concerts over the years since then that you have a lot to look forward to including Wembley 2015, Tampere 2015, Masters of Rock 2015, Buenos Aires 2018, Hellfest 2022, and Deichbrand Festival 2022. Keep these Nightwish live reactions coming. Thank you.
Marko sings in quite a few songs in this concert, Ghost River, Song Of Myself, Last Ride Of The Day, Ever Dream...any you chose is amazing. And...when you think it's worth it High Hopes with Marko.... can't say enough about that song.
Floor's final note was supernatural!!!.....to hear Marko at this show, do "Everdream"....by the way, there is a concert DVD "End of an Era" that was the last show Nightwish ever did with their original singer Tarja Turinen; then, a 2015 2 disc release named "Vehicle of Spirt", one disc being their Tampere, Finland show; then, later that year a live show at Wembley Arena in London.....finally, in 2018, a show they did in Buenos Aires....I have them all. but they are also on TH-cam.....
I agree in that I think Everdream is an underrated Marko showcase song! (In addition to an extended high range section from Floor, and that WALL OF SOUND at the end 🤯)
This isn't new to Floor Jansen. She was in a band called After Forever before joining Nightwish. The Bassist is Marko Hietala and he was the lead vocalist in a band called Tarot for a while as well.
To hear Marco (basist): Pink floud cover High Hopes. The Islander (live from Tampere) And my absolute favorite: The Phantom of the Opera (live with their first female singer Tarja) live ofc.
If you really want to hear Marko sings with your love for Pink Floyd. He sings in Nightwish cover of High Hopes. Another nice song with Marko as a singer is “While your lips are still red”
Nightwish Army, California desert...we work hard to support new fans! It's our mission to assist, educate and accompany you on your journey with Nightwish! *The reason you're getting clusters of requests for certain songs...is that we know what's on the list...its been put together w purpose! So, next up...Ever Dream! Marko Hietala (pron: HEE-ah-Tallah) is a classically trained guitarist, *bassist, songwriter and incredible vocalist both solo and in harmony! You'll hear more of him coming up on the list! (He is the sole vocalist on High Hopes...hes not always gritty!) And, you'll eventually hear this whole concert...it was lightening in a bottle! Oh snap...the Nightwish crew actually formed a band called Crewish, during lockdowns, they made some sick covers of Nightwish songs w permission and loaner equipment...tack them on to your giant list!
Every member of the Nightwish Army -from the simplest of conscripts to the Hands of Odin - : The albums are great because it gives Tuomas and the band a longer range to do musical masterpieces and yet - Nightwish is best served live.
This concert is fantastic and if you were there I reckon you would be pumped for years. I just wish I could see them live. Welcome to the Nightwish family
You boys really should check out "While your Lips are still red" (live Wembley) and "The Islander" (live Tampere) for more of Marko. (the bassist) on vocals. Both of those are amazing performances.
🤩👍💥💯🎼 "Romanticide" is usually served as like a freight train on tracks from where you won't want to hop off at the next possible stop 🛑 The band is tight AF on stage, day by day, month after another, from year to year... Cool reaction guys and keep on rockin with this magical band! You've already open the Gates so why not enter in for good.... 😉 Cheers from Finland. 🤘😎 🇫🇮 💙
Stay with the live. With this band, it has to be live. They sound better live than they do in studio. Plus, you won't get to hear Floor if you do the studio versions. Oh, and when you do watch the tribute that Nightwish does covering Pink Floyd's High Hopes. It's okay to admit it's better. I didn't want to admit it at first, bit I came to terms with this fact. This band is so freaking good. Believe me, you would have noticed if Marko was doing any singing in your previous 2 reactions. He in my opinion is one of the best Male vocalists in all of Metal. In all of rock n roll for that matter. Just wait till you hear him sing High Hopes
You are going to LOVE every single song in this Wacken show! It is truly amazing from start to finish ❤ React to the whole thing or enjoy by yourselves but do it!
Epicness right there on that stage. Yes, this band is amazing. I just wish it hadn't taken me 56 years to discover Nightwish and Floor Jansen. Better late than never. Phenomenal band with all members masters of their craft. Nightwish are in a league of their own eclipsing my previous lifetime favourites. Thank you for a great reaction gents. Paul 🙏😊👍❤️
Nightwish band members: Tuomas Holopainen - Keyboards, writes 95% of the music and lyrics. Floor Jansen - Lead vocals (side note, she can also play piano & guitar). Marko Hietala - Bass guitar primarily, but also plays acoustic guitar, and can sing lead and backup vocals. Emppu Vuorien - Lead Guitarist (side note, he can also play bass). Jukka Nevalainen - Drums but he left the band after the 2013 Walken concert for health reasons. Kai Hahto - Is the new drummer, 2014 to present. Troy Donockley - Uillean Pipes (similar to bagpipes), Tin Whistle, Bouzouki, backing vocals and backing vocals. He only appears in some songs.
This song is Like a Coffee with Red Bull .... On Steroids 🤘❤🔥🤘. The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classically trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast . So the band at that time: Tuomas Holopainen (founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish). Marko Hietala "The Viking" is a Finnish heavy metal vocalist, bassist and songwriter (sadly not part of the band now). Emppu Vuorinen the Electric Hobbit and trickster (Finnish guitarist, most famous for being a founding member of Nightwish and occasional songwriter). Jukka "The Pirate" Nevalainen is the former drummer in the Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish (left for health reasons, but is still a member behind the scenes). AND...there is a sixth member. Troy Donockley "The Bard" (is an English composer and multi-instrumentalist most known for his playing of Uilleann pipes, tin whistle, vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, pump organ, bouzouki, cittern, bodhrán, mandola, harmonium, aerophone). SO, you want more harmonies: Nightwish - 7 Days To The Wolves (Live at Wembley Arena) th-cam.com/video/XvsfwAPbWXc/w-d-xo.html !!!!! Floor Growling : Nightwish - Yours Is An Empty Hope.Vehicle Of Spirit.Live at Wembley (2015) th-cam.com/video/vyLsU7Q333k/w-d-xo.html not on the "List" ( IT SHOULD ). This version is the best and it's the one song I'm willing to fight for (even with our general Gabriel!!!). NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
2013 Wacken concert. Members were Tuomas key boards player, Marko Bassist /Second vocalist and backup vocalist, Emppu Guitarist lead and rythem,Jukka Drummer, Floor lead vocalist/Back up vocalist. Troy wind pipes, Irish back pipes, backup vocals and guitar.
Music video? Defintely Noise, Elan, Amaranth and The Islander are beautiful videos with strong images. The the two last one are little bit older and have different singers.
I have been to hundreds of concerts over 5 different decades, although I wasn't at THIS one, and having watched the full concert of this twice, listened to the full concert probably a hundred times (Had it in the CD player in the car for a long time), and heard some individual songs hundreds more times, I can say that this concert is the best concert I personally have seen, either live or on video.
Many people would have been familiar with Floor from her time in other bands and most knew Nightwish. For most people in that audience it was their first time seeing Floor + Nightwish. At the time of this concert she had been working with Nightwish for only about 10 months and she wasn't even a member of the band yet.
Howdy from the Texas Contingent of the Nightwish Army! Romanticide from Wacken '13 is my favorite of the show for a lot of reasons, especially including Floor's brutal hair whip after the first chorus, Emmpu's laser solo, the duet (especially that wild slide they did together), and the lyrics from keyboardist and main composer/lyricist, Tuomas (TOO-woh-moss). "Leave me be and cease to tell me how to feel, to grieve, to shield myself from evil." Let that marinate a bit. My favorite NW album, however, is their latest: Human || Nature. I haven't much cared for their live performances since COVID, but the lyruc videos to H || N are pretty outstanding, overall. Do about 5 minutes of research about the backgrund for the Human || Nature song "Shoemaker" and watch the video. And it's only my second favorite of that whole album. Cheers, y'all!
There Tribute to Pink Floyd back in 2005 with Marco singing (Bassist) " High Hopes" will blow your Pink Floyd loving mind - th-cam.com/video/jXTmh8fC_RQ/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUUaGlnaCBob3BlcyBuaWdodHdpc2g%3D
Watch "Yours is an empty hope" and you will find that Marko can sing higher and Floor can sound like a demon.
💯
I concur!
I concur!
Make sure you do the LIVE FROM WEMBLEY version!!
It's called growling and it's nothing impressive once you realize there's more than hard rock with keyboards and discover this little genre called Death Metal..
Happy to be alive in the time of Floor an Nightwish.
Yup, the drummer here is Jukka, he was there from the beginning and he hits those drums as if they owe him money 🙂
High Hopes please! So so great.
Goddess FLOOR and MARKO were meant to sing together--their harmonizing & how they play off each other is powerfully brilliant.💥
Agreed 👍

Great reaction ❤ Nightwish Army, South Africa 🇿🇦

Every Metalhead on the planet needs to see this one 🤘🤘🇬🇧
THEIR CREW! When their crew was laid off during 2020 when their Human Nature tour was postponed, their crew recorded an album under the name Crewish. And it is amazing. They recently released a second album. Both all full of nightwish covers and puns.
Oh yes please, react to their Pink Floyd tribute „High Hopes“ with Marko as singer. You‘ll love it, they do a great job 🤘🔥
Nightwish is better live than in recording. For real!
Nightwish army Texas here!😉
Marko is one of the best male metal singers out there by a long mile. He actually has his own band with fantastic songs that are worth reacting to. And he has done some fantastic singing in Nightwish and some great composing, besides amazing base playing.
NightWish Army Wisconsin Chapter here. This song is MASSIVE heavy, but Floor’s Banshee call is the icing on the cake! Enjoy your ride Fellas! 🤘
Nightwish knows how to treat their crew. When they finish big sets and make DVD's, checkout the credits. They have credits all the way down to the drivers they had driving everyone around. Just the beginning of Floor and Marco, lots more from them together and they sound amazing together .
Yes, maybe we are crazy 😁 I'm 50 now and I have never been so passionate about a band before Nightwish.
It's a strange phenomenon that many people have observed. Whatever Nightwish song you are currently listening to is your new favourite. Now, the sound. This is maybe the best recorded live show I have ever heard.
You have to react to Nightwish’s cover of High Hopes. Marko kills it.
If you want to hear much more Marko from this show then I heartily recommend "Ghost River". Alternatively if you'd like a different show and a harder song where Marko sings then "Yours is an Empty Hope" live from Mexico City or Wembley 2015 is an absolute banger!🤘
i Concur :)
Me 2
Yes ! Plus High Hopes 🤘🔥🤘🔥🙋🏻♀️
I concur
i concur too, but i am sure in yours is an empty hope they will think its Marko doing the growling. Maybe not voice teachers but these guys we should tell them in front, Floor is always doing all the growling.
Their "Tribute" to Pink Floyd is better than the original AND I've been listening none stop to PF since '68
It’s good but not even close to the original. But definitely worth listening to.
I wouldn't say it's better. Just different. It is however my preferred version.
Different... Very, very good because they did what they do best and did not try to replicate Pink Floyd. Like Tuomas said, it's a tribute not a cover.
Yeah, Marko singing 'High Hopes' with Emppu's solo is going to blow their minds when they eventually get to it. I'll be watching and waiting.
The tribute to Pink Floyd is High Hopes sung only by Marko. Floor does not appear. She's backstage resting her voice.
The magic of Nightwish , greetings from nwAse Sweden
By the way, Floor just announced she is going to open for Metallica this Saturday in Amsterdam. Her recent solo stuff is much more mellow. Interested to see what she’ll do there.
I love that FLOOR is Multi-talented and has an interest in exploring her Artistry in Different genres. Keeps it Fresh for her and the audience. FLOOR is NOT a "johnny one-note" who can only do one thing.
Definitely worth watching their official video of "Noise", and the lyric video of "Shoemaker".
Try the tribute High Hopes. Marco does an amazing job. Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean and 7 Days to the Wolves. So many! Love to see new recruits!
Nightwish army in the house from San Francisco Bay area!!!! Welcome to the Nightwish Army!!
Tnks for giving a shout out to their crew! Fan fact! This is a huge energy blast. Floor's and Marko's duet slide at the end is just phenomenal! ⛄👍
Floor is live amazing no auto tune or pitch correction they all are amazing!
Their crew or the majority of them have been with them for a very long time. They also supported their few during lockdown when they couldn’t work etc.
Floor as a siren……..literally
Hello again, guys. You are absolutely right. Nightwish is the rare band whose live performances are even better than their studio productions. Ever Dream. The last minute of that song nearly gave me a heart attack.
This concert is the best live concert, everything was spot on. A perfect storm.
Pink Floyd fans need to hear Marko singing “high hopes”, it’s superb.
Marko sings in quite a few songs in this concert, Ghost River, Song Of Myself, Last Ride Of The Day, Ever Dream...any you chose is amazing. And...when you think it's worth it High Hopes with Marko.... can't say enough about that song.
Nightwish covered High hopes from Pinck floyd, as a tribute from one Progrock band to the other Progrock band❤
Methinks you were properly prepared to listen to Romanticide. One helluva performance.
That moment from a reactor when they realise they've discovered something truly special... priceless!
You guys nailed it... Thank you. I hope you'll do "song of myself" soon - it's on par with this.
Welcome to the Nightwish Army here comes the Floorgasms 😁
Floor's final note was supernatural!!!.....to hear Marko at this show, do "Everdream"....by the way, there is a concert DVD "End of an Era" that was the last show Nightwish ever did with their original singer Tarja Turinen; then, a 2015 2 disc release named "Vehicle of Spirt", one disc being their Tampere, Finland show; then, later that year a live show at Wembley Arena in London.....finally, in 2018, a show they did in Buenos Aires....I have them all. but they are also on TH-cam.....
I'd say "Ghost River" personally...much more Marko or "Wish I had an Angel".
@@Hexley_Vexley "Ghost River". Later they can do the fan video for "Master Passion Greed".
these guys are far from ready to do "Poet and the Pendulum"; but soon, maybe "the Greatest Show on Earth"
I agree in that I think Everdream is an underrated Marko showcase song! (In addition to an extended high range section from Floor, and that WALL OF SOUND at the end 🤯)
If you want another hard one try "Yours is an empty hope" live from Wembley Arena. Great reaction guys.
This isn't new to Floor Jansen. She was in a band called After Forever before joining Nightwish. The Bassist is Marko Hietala and he was the lead vocalist in a band called Tarot for a while as well.
You haven’t even hit what I consider their best songs yet!
Keep it going guys it just gets better!!!
to hear more of marko listening to Ever Dream from this same show is an absolute must! just power power power
To hear Marco (basist):
Pink floud cover High Hopes.
The Islander (live from Tampere)
And my absolute favorite:
The Phantom of the Opera (live with their first female singer Tarja) live ofc.
Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean!
If you really want to hear Marko sings with your love for Pink Floyd. He sings in Nightwish cover of High Hopes. Another nice song with Marko as a singer is “While your lips are still red”
Listen to Nightwish - Your's is an empty hope - performed on Nightwish Cruises 2015. Floor shows another side of her voice there. 😁
Marko Hietala Is a Living LEGEND in Finnish metal culture.
Nightwish Army, California desert...we work hard to support new fans! It's our mission to assist, educate and accompany you on your journey with Nightwish!

Super excited for your Nightwish awakening! ❤
It's just getting better and better, I think I have heard that quite a few times 😃 And trust me, it is!
Nightwish army Denmark reporting in 🤘
you reaction makes me smile thanks
I’ve met Floor last week! Amazing
God I love that Banshee scream at the end
Dave and Chris, a warm welcome as official new members of the Nightwish Army. Greetings from the Netherlands, sector the Hague 🫡
If you want to hear Marco and floor go at it together in this concert, listen to ghost river! Good to have ya'll along for the ride!
My Queen Goddess Floorever!
Definately one of my favorites from Nightwish...
There are songs beyond this show to discover. Just sayin', because I would love you to do the whole show. It's worth it, I was there!
Check out the live performance of The Islander, it’s all Marco 🤌🏻
Thanks mates👍👍🤘. If you want more Marco( the basist) check High Hopes😊😊😉🤘🇫🇮
Stay with the live. With this band, it has to be live. They sound better live than they do in studio. Plus, you won't get to hear Floor if you do the studio versions.

You are going to LOVE every single song in this Wacken show! It is truly amazing from start to finish ❤ React to the whole thing or enjoy by yourselves but do it!
Yes, let's go!

Don't forget Troy's epic E-Bow performance on GSOE from Wembley 2015
UK Army popping in for a little Romanticide
This song is a fucking banger, with the lot! This is Metal, aggressive, tight, in your face, and oh so damn, off the shelf, magnificent!❤

Great reaction! Good introduction to Marko's vocals. Maybe check out Everdream next.
2013 Wacken concert. Members were Tuomas key boards player, Marko Bassist /Second vocalist and backup vocalist, Emppu Guitarist lead and rythem,Jukka Drummer, Floor lead vocalist/Back up vocalist. Troy wind pipes, Irish back pipes, backup vocals and guitar.
Ghost River. It rocks. Bless the Child, my favorite. Well done, men.
Music video? Defintely Noise, Elan, Amaranth and The Islander are beautiful videos with strong images. The the two last one are little bit older and have different singers.
The video for The Islander is beautiful. The live is great, but the video is beautiful.
If you want to see a Nightwish video i would say check out "Noise" It's from their latest album Human II Nature from 2020
If you really want to hear Marko in the context of Nightwish, I recommend "The Islander" from Tampere. We actually hear Floor sing backup to Marko.
Another song where Marko and Floor are so incredible together is the song the greatest Show on Earth live in Tampere 2015. God i mis Marko and Jucca.
YES!!!!!!!!
Dark Chest of Wonders live at Wacken’13 next!!!
Face melted:)
High Hopes (pink floyd cover) for Marko's voice...and Song of my self. Greetings from Finland🇫🇮🤘🏻
Yep this is the best lineup I seen, my opinion. The two previous singer had excellent songs. Marko, bass, adds a lot to.
Wait when you see The Greatest show on earth,it's 24 minutes long masterpiece about Earth creation
At the beginning of this show, Floor was a fill-in temp. At the end of this show she was a full partner. Awesome vocals!
That "whoooooo!" At the ends, that's always what I do too lol
There Tribute to Pink Floyd back in 2005 with Marco singing (Bassist) " High Hopes" will blow your Pink Floyd loving mind - th-cam.com/video/jXTmh8fC_RQ/w-d-xo.html&pp=ygUUaGlnaCBob3BlcyBuaWdodHdpc2g%3D
