    The problem with "Life Hacks" is that nobody is going "I have this problem, how do I solve it?" and instead it's all about "What kind of problem can I find a solution for?" so almost all of them are solutions for a problem you'll never have, assuming they even work all that well in the first place.

    1:26 Tyler, I watched this video when it was new, and then promptly forgot about it. Today, I found out that one of my security cameras is FULL OF WATER! It has gaskets and seals but one of them is obviously not doing it's job, at all . . . . I was heat-shrinking the power cord for it just to make it a little beefier and remembered this 'hack.' I cut a 'tube' out of a tall narrow "Sparkling Ice" (flavored soda) bottle, slid it over the camera, heated it with my heat gun and then trimmed it with scissors. I have no idea if it's going to work in the long run but I can tell you now that the camera is certainly rain proof!! it has it's own transparent armor now! I will be doing the same on my other cameras one at a time after taking them each apart and cleaning them!! Thank you, Tyler!

    • @sugarbooty
      @sugarbooty 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Most if not all plastic drinking bottles are PET, milk jugs are HDPE, the thickness is what will determine the strength. Bottles are made by blow molding plastic into a shape, so you're undoing the stresses in the plastic when you heat it up past the glass transition temperature. I'm not sure how HDPE will work, never tried it

      Most bottles are not a pure material, so they can have variances, additionally the coloring agents actually can make decent changes at times. Aside from that it is true that thickness is the major factor, but different companies shape their bottles differently and produce different end results.

      It's only because he wanted to strip it. Had he been working all day trying to get something done it would have went in 1/2 way and spun once and been thoroughly screwed up.

    The idea with the hot glue and matches is that hot glue solidifies faster than super glue. You don't have to worry about the glue drying out either as hot glue can just be reheated. The fact it can be reheated also makes it a nice reusable binding agent.
    A better alternative to this idea is just carrying a hot glue stick and a some form of fire starter. Pretty easy to heat up hot glue over a small flame or campfire.

  • @KaptainMorgan84
    @KaptainMorgan84 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    As a festival costumer, the hot glue match would be good for a camping situation where you need a temporary fix. You don't want to use a more permanent glue because it can damage fabric and delicate materials, and it makes it tougher to fix with a sewing machine or other tools. Thats just my take.

    Try fitting some breaker bars or something similar onto the wrenches and you'll probably get way more leverage on breaking that last lock. Thats scary amazing how well that works, these are great life hacks/tricks! Thankyou for the video as always with your quality content!

    So tyler, with the lock, a much, much easier way to pop the lock is to change the direction of force so it’s trying to beak the place with least resistance. The shackle itself. Lock picking lawyer has a video on the and pops so heavy heavy duty locks with it.
