    (For myself)
    Bad, unbalanced management can make a letter look disjointed to the rest.
    It can make one side look a lot weaker or stronger than the other.
    It can draw attention to one spot. (This can be used to advantage too)
    KEEP IT BALANCED
    To fill/fix negative space, you can add external details and extensions. 3D, and shadow too

      lol awesome, next up should be letter and name positioning. That one is going to be very intertwined with the flow video so its worth getting a handle on that video first because these two fundamentals go hand and hand. It even goes hand and hand with negative space but that relationship is SUUUUUUPER simple on the basic level of things.

    • @Theartistblock
      @Theartistblock  4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      yup as long as it doesn't mess with the other fundamentals then you should be good to go. the same applies with not having enough negative space, thats just as bad if not worse than too much negative space

    If someone wants you to critique their work and wants to send you a picture of what's been done where would they send it to? I'm fairly new to this whole thing and definitely appreciate any criticism because nobody ever has gotten better when everyone's telling them that their art looks amazing right from the jump lol its only when someone tells you what doesn't look good and what is needed to be changed in order for that to look good!!! Let's face it people who are sensitive and or can't take criticism don't really make it far as an artist!! I'm the worst critic of myself to be honest and something could look flawless to everyone else but I'll always find something I'm not happy about hahahaha anyways thanks for everything you share

    Hitting us up with a Graffiti Critque anytime soon?
    I would absolutely love and appreciate some help on this straight letter I keep sketching out.
    I never finish it.
    I softly sketch it out so I can fill in but always end up just outlining it all and staring at it and knitpicking it and putting it off to the side, just end up at the same spot once I change something and everything else is off and needs change.

      treat it like your basic print font and you shouldn't have any trouble. the same way your normal print is spaced thats how your pieces should be too. and it shouldn't be anything like a throw up if you're using the basic boxes and making them basic print font.

    • @Theartistblock

      certainly, you definitely need all of the fundamentals to be good in order to have a good wildstyle and piece. you cant add style without knowing the fundamentals and flow is one of the fundamentals.

    I'm MEW from Germany and I have a problem with my name.. It's basically a M turning around 2 times but I love this name too much to give it up🙃

    • @Theartistblock
      @Theartistblock  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      W and M have two totally different structures. they may look the same but they have totally different properties and different capabilities. Learn the letter in it's basic structure and once you master those you'll be able to explore the more complex side of those letters. So long as you keep it simple you should be fine for now. if you need some help with that then DM me on insta

  • @davidfisher2432

    Not seeing negative space here at all. You can’t shit all over the place and say there is negative space.

    • @davidfisher2432
      @davidfisher2432 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If all negative space is filled in then there is no negative space. I see no arrogance to leaving shit negative spaced and really just filling it in so it’s not present at all. . This video
      Is about removing all negative space.

    • @davidfisher2432
      @davidfisher2432 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The concept of filling in negative space is so wrong! Very bad artistry!

    • @davidfisher2432
      @davidfisher2432 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Management is about knowing what not to do. Minimalism is not being respected and removing all negative space makes pieces look shit all over! You don’t have to touch all.

    • @davidfisher2432
      @davidfisher2432 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Consider a tattoo that stands alone and uses the skin behind it too. Then think about somebody tattooed to the point of zero negative space and how shitty that looks.
