This piece is dedicated to Ifukube's deceased brother who died from his Military experiments via over exposure to radiation without protection. Ifukube was devastated when he got the news at his doorstep as that he was close to his brother as he was his musical partner growing up, later Ifukube almost met the same fate as his brother in his own military experiments studying wooden military planes also suffering from over exposure of radiation with no protection. An absolute beautiful piece that would make his brother proud.
Akira Ifukube, Toru Takemitsu and Akira Miyoshi are the greatest Japanese composers while Isang Yun and Unsuk Chin are the greatest south Korean composers.
This piece was written right in the middle of World War II so I imagine Ifukube was trying to write something that would support the war effort and not offend anyone. This is people's music much like the stuff written during the Stalin regime in Russia.

This version is just great! I’m a fan of Ifukube from SOUTH Korea!
