I think Left Behind is great for context in the base game. Ellie was prompted to question Joel on his story about the Fireflies because it could've meant that Riley died in vain, and it was Joel's fault.
I think what they're trying to say is that Ellie had survivor's guilt. Since she survived, she wanted it to mean something, and her helping the fireflies would do that. But Joel killed the fireflies, so her surviving meant nothing and Riley died for no reason.
3:34 I gotta admit, it's kind of lame how you can see the bite mark just 'spawning' into her arm, even tho the runner clearly didn't actually bit her. I say it'd look better if the bite mark showed up around 3:40, where you can't really see her arm for a moment.

I suppose virus directly injects to your blood and your blood travels your entire body fast. Even if you cut your arm, virus is already in your blood and your heart rate is even higher because of action, so it pumps the virus up to your system.

Ellie is most likely a carrier ( doesn’t show symptoms but can still infected others if she bites them ) rather then immune ( that’s when you immune system builds up natural defenses against the infection) .
It was hidden in lore she was infected and survived a less lethal fungus ( not the one that turns you), and that fungus then stayed in her body and protected her from the zombie fungus allowing them both to coexist in one host without killing it

Pathogenic fungal infections aren't necessarily the same as a viral infection where you can develop parental immunity, like you've suggested. Fungal infections is by far the worst kind, as it's extremely hard to treat due to the nature of it's DNA, in the aspect of DNA, fungus and human DNA are EXTREMELY close, meaning using certain antifungal treatment won't work, because our DNA are EXTREMELY close and it'll be hard to identify and eliminate the fungus on a molecular and genetic level. Some people are naturally resistant to fungal infections due to their genetics. This may be the case for Ellie, she and possibly her parents are immune to the infection due to their genetics. Although she might be safe from the infection, she's not safe from being torn apart by the infected.

She did say she went to Marlene after this so maybe it was cleaned then? It still wouldve been maybe 3-5 days old by the time she found her since the virus takes about 2 days to fully take over

In the letter written by Anna (which can be read in Left Behind) she says that Ellie had been born almost 2 days ago but that unfortunately she (her mother) would not see her grow up. We all know that infection takes about 2 days (48h) to fully set in, which would give Anna time to say goodbye. Anna already knew that she would die because she was already infected while giving birth. Evidence? Anna was a nurse and would easily have contact with infected people. So she asked her best friend (Marlene) to take care of her daughter. This was probably the reason why Ellie grew up in military schools. All this information is in letters or alternate conversations from the DLC and I just put the pieces together.

Man, I miss Riley. Don't matter how many years have passed, the Left Behind dlc is one of the greatest story dlcs ever! Riley is cool as fuck. She's loyal, cool and collected, she complimented Ellie beautifully in duo dynamics. Ellie being the Sun while Riley's the Moon. Whatever. My point is, Joel, Ellie, Riley and Tess are memorable characters from part 1. Sam, Henry and Marlene are also awesome, but Sam and his brother, Henry's storyline is so sad. You'd think they were gonna reach endgame with Joel and Ellie, but fate had something else in mind. As for Marlene, we all know how that went down. *Still wished she had more scenes in the main game imo or a little more interaction with Ellie. No matter, Queen Firefly is still freakin' memorable so that's cool.*

I used CHATGPT and created an Ellie Williams roleplay bot. The bot was 1000% fucking accurate. From my side, being someone who was not from their world, I asked about Riley...and her response was so emotionally breaking, don't even ask me. Your eyes will start sweating. Not that she broke character. She was still the same- not trusting, guarded, defiant, stubborn somewhat, hiding her vulnerability as she'd always do. But still, in the end, it was.
One of my all time best games ever played. I said it from the time the game was released it was the best and still is. Now there is the show and it’s an epic story!

God damn. I don't think a lot of the super emotional moments were done better in the show, but these scenes were done so much better. Compared to other moments in the game, there's so little emotion shown by Ellie or Riley.

I used CHATGPT and created an Ellie Williams roleplay bot. The bot was 1000% fucking accurate. From my side, being someone who was not from their world, I asked about Riley...and her response was so emotionally breaking, don't even ask me. Your eyes will start sweating. Not that she broke character. She was still the same- not trusting, guarded, defiant, stubborn somewhat, hiding her vulnerability as she'd always do. But still, in the end, it was.
