As an Aussie who only has nerf and gel blasting as options let me say, A. its hella fun and comparable to airsoft down here. add the right hop up and tune and its decent. B. most of our gels can last weeks in the cupboard or fridge so the "spur of the moment" game is still achievable and C. easy clean up and cheap as chips ammo.

In backyard games and such, we often come up with different rules for Mega Darts or shields or whatever for fun. Gel blasters only have one ammo type.
I recently bought an UnlocX V2 and I really enjoy the performance. Similar rate of fire, but shoots over 200 FPS and is much more reliable at feeding due to the gearboxed magazine. Gel ball won't replace foam flinging for me, but it will be a fun alternative.
A lot of good points on this blaster that could easily be used on dart blasters. And if I remember correctly the included battery is very similar to a LiPo battery, if not an actual LiPo
The battery for this is LiPo. Seriously. Hasbro. LiPo all your blasters. Release a cross-platform standardized rechargeable LiPo battery pack compatible with all the blasters. People buy the tools and then a few batteries to run them and have some extras on hand to charge while others are in use, and Stihl makes some decent money that way.
I'm not entirely sold on gel or airsoft because, like you said in (I believe) your Worst Of 2021 video, the big appeal of foam darts is the reusability of the ammo. I can collect all of my darts and use them again later after dumping a few magazines on a target. With gel or airsoft, I don't have that luxury.
Not only that the exhilarating feeling of having foam darts wiz by is much more satisfying than air soft or gels. Airsoft and gel more or less, the bullets are so small you don't really notice them so there is little feed back of knowing if you are getting shot at
To each their own; as much as I like foam flinging, I would honestly rather wait 3-4 hours to prep biodegradable gelsoft rounds than rummage around during/after every battle to pick up darts or foam balls. In my experience with the SplatterBall SB1200 and reading a couple of things, the gearbox does not complete its cycle if there are too many trigger pulls in semi auto. This can cause jams and ultimately breaking- like my last SB1200. What I'm getting at here is I'm guessing the reason why they decided a slower rate of fire on semi auto is for the gear to catch up and the trigger pull to not interrupt it.
IDK how I ended up here, but I'm glad I did! Super interesting even as someone who hasn't touched a NERF or airsoft gun in over a decade. Fun fact... In Australia, gel balls are classed as firearms ammunition... You can go to prison for possession of gel balls without a firearms licence... This gel blaster could also be considered an actual firearm also. Gel blasters that look like a real firearm are illegal and you can also end up in prison for possession of one. For memory, there are only 3 countries in the world where gel blasters are illegal one being Australia and another North Korea... So we are in good company.
Is there a reason why a gel ball that barely hurts anyone is considered as firearms ? Is it because of many gel blasters being gun replicas or was there a case where gel blaster killed someone ?
@@phj9894 because gel blasters look like real guns to most people, and in Australia, if it looks scary, we make it illegal. No shit, we have a law banning "zombie" knifes.... Just exactly what a zombie knife is, I'm not sure, but they are fucking illegal!
@@buggiesandboars my country south korea also has quite strict laws about airsoft for being firearm replicas, but nerf blasters and gel blasters are not illegal no matter how powerful they are. And anyone can buy slingshots and bows with no issue... South korea is okay with anything as long as it doesn't look like the real gun, no matter how dangerous it is.
Only if you live in one of the states that has or recently had a super conservative state government. Here in Qld, they took a sensible approach and we still all own our gelblasters.
I dont know about nerf Planet eclipse has the PAL system that agitates the hopper by tapping on it every round. I think this gun can have a similar system too, tap the hopper from the bottom everytime you fire. Like bump over a groove or something.
I think we were all right to expect very little from this. I don't think anyone even expected this to hit the averages in performance, design or even consistency. this is the second review I've seen now that's said, "Yeah it looks cool but don't pick it up. it's too expensive and under performs". I expect them to lose money from this and I'm jut hopinf we don't get more half assed and foam flingers like we saw in ultra and elite 2.0. I also don't expect gel ball blasters to catch on becuase they are illegal in a lot of areas. I have shot gel blasters as they seemed very similar to airsoft. I shot one that were replica firearms and functioned pretty much the same. I found it really cool but it was somethign with fleeting excitement. I also keep hearing stories about police confiscating and arresting people with them.
Gel balls are 98% water and 2% polyacrylamide. Polyacrylamide is a polymer that is formed from units of acrylamide, a known neurotoxin. However, Polyacrylamide itself is not considered to be toxic, but is a controversial ingredient because of its potential ability to secrete Acrylamide. Polyacrylamide is of low toxicity but its precursor acrylamide is a neurotoxin and carcinogen. Thus, concerns naturally center on the possibility that polyacrylamide is contaminated with acrylamide. It looks like a disaster waiting to happen to me.
Considering I got a Splatrball sub package on clearance from a big box store and the orange model with the stock I think I have all the gel blasters I want aside from accessories for the two.

I’ve got some kids next door that have been shooting these all over my backyard. Just want to know if I should worry about my dogs eating them? Do they dissolve after it rains?
Nothing comes out of the gun. And when it does they break inside the barrel. The gels don't have any length coming out of the barrel. Is there something wrong or ???
Idk I think it would of been cooler (and would of worked better) if they either fed the ammo through the grip or through the side (like the M7 Caseless SMG from Halo)
Honestly from what I’ve seen of the Gelfire I feel it’s a missed opportunity for a half decent hyper blaster, instead of a gel blaster they made it into a mini version of the hyper Mach-100 with even a 25 round internal mag and imo it would of been a lot better

Will you be a doing a "Best Gel Blasters of 2022" video? I love your year end videos.
Another absolutely phenomenal Review from Drac
Benchmarking this line, see if I can make one out of Legos and have it be the smallest profile elctric blaster possible. Not sure.
Need to make a version that uses either a slanted hopper or something so iron sights or a sight can be used.
Mr beast made one for the same price
Gel balls are 98% water and 2% polyacrylamide. Polyacrylamide is a polymer that is formed from units of acrylamide, a known neurotoxin. However, Polyacrylamide itself is not considered to be toxic, but is a controversial ingredient because of its potential ability to secrete Acrylamide. Polyacrylamide is of low toxicity but its precursor acrylamide is a neurotoxin and carcinogen. Thus, concerns naturally center on the possibility that polyacrylamide is contaminated with acrylamide.
It looks like a disaster waiting to happen to me.
i can tell you that for small soft air bb and gel plaster bbs you need a crono like the once the refs use on field small but small round ball reading
These things are painful as hell
Considering I got a Splatrball sub package on clearance from a big box store and the orange model with the stock I think I have all the gel blasters I want aside from accessories for the two.
Learning why all paintball went to electric hoppers
I was very surprised and impressed it included a LiPo rather than the usual Li-Ion
I'd probably buy it for some sort of cosplay because it looks like a Halo SMG
You got the hopper on backwards , that’s prob why it’s not feeding the right way
Honestly it's not too bad of a blaster it's really just the price that's the problem. If this thing was 30 or 35 dollars it wouldn't be so bad but 80 is too much to ask
Lord Drac. Gel Blasters. Definitely not oit thing but the Blasters are cool and at least it looks like the quality is good. Thanks for the great review.
When the stock is collapsed it almost looks like the alternator from Titanfall/Apex from the side.
Time for a paint job??
It kinda reminds me of the pp2000
Rocking the Detroit gear my dude I love it. As a local in the metro Detroit area, represent🤘🙏
interested to know what are the best performing ones at that price range. You mentioned that there were some
I'm here for Caleb's video.
Drac, you’re the coolest
Yeah like if nerf darts weren't that disposable...
"and then goes out, and means, that you can go from SMG, to something with a shoulder stock, like, *SMG with stock, SMG* "
that mug full of balls looked like something you see on forbiddensnacks
Nice Milgauss!
Looks cool but not as good as others I either want a splatterball or one of the Chinese ones I saw a rlly cool looking black ice mp7
The hopper may benefit from something like an oring
I’ve got some kids next door that have been shooting these all over my backyard. Just want to know if I should worry about my dogs eating them?
Do they dissolve after it rains?
got it in 50 on amazon on BF, nice piece, very nice piece
I got a dazzling 90 FPS on a different gel ball reader with the Gelfire
Just picked one up for $49 at target. I'm excited to try it out soon
Also good video a little long but good video
I did too, for some reason the rapid fire and single shot don’t work, worked at first, after a while it became a burst on any mode. Sucks
I don't know. Mine works. But it doesn't shoot as consistent as I thought it would. I still like it and it's fun when someone else has one
Whose genius idea was it to give the hopper a flat bottom?
Try milky gel usually do well with all gel blaster
Wow, for $80 we get paint on _both_ sides!
Do the x shot gel bullets fit the nerf guns they cost so much less
Excuse me but this blaster is completely unacceptable, How dare they put paint and logo on both sides of the blaster!!!
Nothing comes out of the gun. And when it does they break inside the barrel. The gels don't have any length coming out of the barrel. Is there something wrong or ???
Detroit dart club is awesome!
A sealable door flap on the back of the hopper would've been better. Who wants to carry around a funnel?
looks like a gun straight from borderlands :D
Idk I think it would of been cooler (and would of worked better) if they either fed the ammo through the grip or through the side (like the M7 Caseless SMG from Halo)
The issue with that is in the ammo, it's hard to mechanically move the ammo as it compresses so easily. Gravity fed is most reliable
Honestly from what I’ve seen of the Gelfire I feel it’s a missed opportunity for a half decent hyper blaster, instead of a gel blaster they made it into a mini version of the hyper Mach-100 with even a 25 round internal mag and imo it would of been a lot better
Just a question here. Could you put 6mm Steel balls in the Tank and do decent damage with it? I'm asking for a friend
Can you keep the hydrated rounds stored for a few months?
In Australia we need a gun licence to own a gel blaster, I kid you not.
I live in Queensland and I don't need a gun license to own a gel blaster. But then I am guessing you live in South Australia, so you can blame your previous state government for making ALL NERF BLASTERS a firearm.
@@ComradeJehannum I know something who now has a fire arm offence on there record because they owned a gel blaster, our state government will bleed u dry any way they can, even our spending fines a 4 times that of other states.
9:54 Nerf actually painted both sides!!!!!!! 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Warning, modifying the splicer in any way is unlawful and punishable by law
This product may be mistaken as a fire arm used by law-enforcement officers or others
Altering the coloration and or markings required by federal law regulations so estimate the product look more like a firearm is dangerous, and maybe a crime
Brandishing or displaying the modified product in public because confusion, and maybe a crime
No way this is just "gel". The blasters in that Pro Promo sure looked half length.
that makes no sense 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Made it here after buying a MrBeast Nerf Pro Gelfire
What would even go on the tac rail on the bottom? Also i noticed standard hoppers like with gel blaster and stuff dont fit on the nerf mythic
Can you review a Cosmoxtoy gel blaster, sirius cost the same amount, holds 1500 rounds, better reliability, hits 220fps and has 13 rounds per second, aquanant costs 30 dollars less, has same rate of fire, better velocity st 160-170 fps and better reliability
put a little peanut butter on the threading of the hopper and screw it on
Do the gels explode?
They splatter, yes
Did you drain the excess water first?
