- In just over a month, on Juneteenth, a preliminary report will release one of the country's most comprehensive analyses of reparations, ways to compensate for economic, legal, and political inequities resulting from slavery, Jim Crow, and other historical practices.
It's only fair ADOS/FBA since the side curls tiny hat folks received cash payments
😂😂😂😂😂
Nobody gets awarded reparations for being an ethnicity.
Like a child who’s crying because the neighbor kid got ice cream and you didn’t. 😂 Grow up and move on already.
Exactly. They will pay! ✊🏿
Nobody has ever been awarded reparations for being an ethnicity.
Reparations is actual proven victims being compensated by their actual violators.
Forcing the innocent to pay nonvictims for something that happened to neither of them is not reparations.
If you aren't out anything; You aren't owed anything.
Why do you keep moving the goal post? The violators are and were the US government. We can send billions to fund wars that don't concern us yet be obviously obtuse when it comes to righting wrongs in the US. By doing so we may all be able to live peacefully. Unless you feel that you can't win unless you have a head start. Hmm!?
Really I don’t remember causing the trail of tears yet I pay for that
@dantewalker1715
Do you? Do you have a reference for that? I've never seen anything about reparations going to modern aboriginals.
I have certainly never heard about any ongoing payments for the trail of tears.
For real reparations: they identify an actual victim of the offense in question.
They specify the abuses and damages.
They assign a dollar amount for their compensation.
They pay the victim.
If the victim is deceased; they identify the closest living legal heir and pay them.
What is the name of the slave that you are trying to collect the unpaid reparations for?
I have the names of most of my enslaved ancestors, thank you but reparations are also about injustices under Jim Crow. My father couldn't buy a home in Levittown after having served this country in WWII because although the homes were built for returning soldiers who were using their VA benefit, it was only for white soldiers. White Jewish, White Spanish, White Italian, White Arab, etc.. were allowed to purchase homes there but not Black people. We were denied a separate but equal education and then were forbidden to live in areas where more resources were put into the schools. We were denied access to colleges and universities that our tax dollars supported based solely on race. In the 1970's housing developers were sued for taking government money (our taxes) to build middle income housing but then denied access to Black middle class families. Don't be obtuse. You know what you all did!

Prove how much of that is owed to you and collect.
@@michaelpcoffee What hubris to think that the decision in yours! Lol! Oh the federal government made people jump through hoops to prove that they were even entitled to VA benefits. Their bureaucracy created a wonderful group of records complete with documents stating why Black veterans going back to my ancestor who fought in the Revolutionary War, the ones who fought in the Civil War right up to Viet Nam, were denied what was due them based solely on their race. The aggrieved have the proof. Actuaries work on the numbers.
It's amazing that we can send billions to other countries to feed their war machines but don't want to repair the wrongs done to Americans who have been here since there was an America.
@@GeeBee212Cry us a river... So what have you done in the past 60 years?
@@annmhmoore0771 Oh I'm not crying darling. I am achieving. I Studied. I served in the Navy. I worked hard. I purchased a home. I got married. I had two children and educated them. I taught school. I taught Sunday school. I spent time with family. I vacationed. I still volunteer. Mostly I pray that this country overcomes its past so that everyone has a brighter future.

They should get reparations for the people that sold them into slavery in the first place.🙄
Buyers and $ellers are one in the same
. catch-up dimwit 😏
The African slave trade was started by African lords who enslaved their lower caste members of society. They then sold them to the Middle Eastern world, and then Europeans were involved. Every race was a slave at one point in history. Let's stop the lies!
Your people bought them. Your problem.
rep·a·ra·tion
noun
the making of amends for a wrong one has done, by paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged.
"the courts required a convicted offender to make financial reparation to his victim" ( so in other words, cut the check.)
Exactly;
Reparations is actual proven victims being compensated by their actual violators.

What's that in English?
@@michaelpcoffee why-t payz up

What language is that? My translator can't make it out.
Maybe Google doesn't recognize pidgin patua as a language.
Newark, NJ is suffering because of redlining and segregation from the past. There is no "urban revival" - just middle and upper class mainly White people coming for corporate jobs or entertainment at Prudential & NJPAC. The poor are still suffering.

if you think its impossible your thinking faculty is limited like a childs. hundreds of years of labour is simple to caclulate. there are legal clauses to account for pain and suffering as a multiplier i.e. punitive damages payment.
Where’s the proof and who pays the people to verify it? It’s more of a moral argument based on emotion rather than a legal argument based on evidence and documentation.
Cut The Check!!! Lineage Based Only!!!#SkunkHollow #Dunkerhook ⛰🇺🇸
You know this is an election year right?
My European ancestors came to this country from their comfortable homeland and were 'slightly inconvenienced' by the lack of adequate accommodations. For that, I demand reparations! The struggle is real.
Your ancestors should have went back home to Europe. They came to take advantage of what was illegally built from chattel slavery!
Your European ancestors did nor go through chattel slavery!!!!!🙄🙄🙄

Election year....vote BIDEN and we'll give you a nice 'study', and that is all.
People must learn the history of everything FBA went through before speaking, cut the check and lets separate ourselves.
And yet there’s no legal grounds for cash payments. No contract naming an ancestor specifically, no Will stating you’d be entitled to their belonging and proving they didn’t want it to go to a cousin or charity. Then there’s the cost of verification of documents, dna and proving a debt. Who pays for that investigation and verifications?
Jean Pierre Brutus is not of the correct ethnic lineage to even speak on Reparations for FBA (Foundational Black Americans).
If you aren't out anything;
You aren't owed anything.
I'm thinking yes on Reparations for Native Americans first.
I'm a Black Woman but I feel awful for the Native American People. They were the victims of genocide, their land was stolen and today reservations are rife with poverty, fentanyl and sex trafficking.
After that then we can focus on reparations for Black Americans.
Why can't both be done at the same time? We are funding two wars that have nothing to do with us at the same time.
@@GeeBee212 Makes sense.
Who is "black"?
Wanna both?
Sick of Hearing about our past,Talk about the coming solution from the most high 😂Yall need 2 stop playing games, but guess what we already have reparations it's coming from GOD😂😂😂😂
I don't believe in slavery reparations; however, I do believe that those who suffered after slavery was abolished but still faced discrimination should be compensated to a certain extent. For example, in cases where people unlawfully lost their homes/properties. Those should either revert back to them, their relatives in cases of death or get paid for it.
