Somebody sent this video to me because they knew I used to run one of these things for a fire department. I have two huge word of caution for you when you get on open water: TRIM TAB. So here's the deal: you do fine once you're up on your cushion of air going forward, but the more you give her the spurs the more the front end starts pointing down unless you're setting the trim tab. Let the front end dip at 40+ MPH (which that will EASILY do) and the front end catches in the water. It will feel like you ran into something and you will likely get hurt being thrown forward. So whenever you feel the nose dip, get off of the noisy lever, raise your trim and try again. You'll get the hang of it.
Carl Ihland dude that won’t work. You could have 10,000 HP LS and the engine still only gonna turn like 8-9 RPM. What you need is enough power and the right gearing. Everything changes with a propeller. You don’t have the transmission like in a car.

JH Who?
shred1894 😂😂👌🏻
Hovercrafts are perfect for rescue on frozen lakes. They'll travel over the ice just fine but if the ice is too weak or the lake isn't completely frozen they will go on water no problem. In the winter, you gott bring this up to Michigan with the SXS boys and try it on a frozen lake. I'll bet it flies!
J H is literally the American “Larry The Enticer”
Cleetus needs to have Larry over. Jump the hover craft with the ole et
Except less annoying and gimickey
HA HA HA HA. Gonna be a good dayyyy, just gonna send it.
That trailer ramp has pinched hand written all over it. Who’s gonna be the lucky winner? 🤣
Thinking the same on that one...
Cooper
Coop 💯
Yep I agree I thought they were going to do it on the first unload
Bro more like finger ejecto
sounds like this should be a WRX STI rally hovercraft with a Subaru engine back there
Yeah, that old motor is pretty meager. A 2.5L EJ, even without a turbo would be a serious improvement. A 3L EZ H6 would be nuts, because torque.
@@sireuchre i mean doesnt cooper have a turbo leagcy with a smoked clutch sitting around? Just use that engine
XmaXma6 Forester you mean? It isn't turbo'd and he fixed the clutch
@@maxjones1192 well it's probably still more power then the hovercraft has, and it still is stitting around, so im still for a swap
XmaXma6 Cooper dailies that car to save gas. It’s literally part of his fleet. It’s fixed, cleaned up and in his driveway. I love the STi idea but it’s Cleetus so an LS from Texas speed is only right.
Gotta get one of those airboat racing engines in that thing. She’d rip
I think I found a perfect vehicle for that jet engine that was slated for the el Camino
Oh yes please
would be pretty sick with retractable wings...
You know we do have a couple Williams FJ-44 turbofans at work that aren't currently airworthy. Ground-worthy is a whole different kind of story!
mytmousemalibu contact him...for our sake
Next episode: WE PUT A FREAKING HOVERCRAFT RACE COURSE IN AT THE FREEDOM FACTORY!!!!
He Uses this So He Won't Mess Up the Grass😎😛✌️
This channel has helped me decide that I never want a hovercraft. Looks like something you want to borrow for an hour and then be happy you didn't buy one.
not even a small one? like a SCAT?
@@DaBoomDude particularly scat
Real talk. The new toy high looks like it’s wear off quick here...there’s a reason you don’t see them often and it isn’t the price. Rad in theory, boring in reality.
They make hovercraft in my home town in the UK. And when I was young they had massive people hovercraft that went across the channel from Dover to France amazing machines. She's a beast cleetus bud
If you can, you should take that thing out on the Everglades.
Awesome idea
And he will likely not survive
The irony of “THINK!” plastered on the dash!!
The tracker swamp bogger is officially retired. you'll never get stuck muddin with one of these
Hovercraft is gonna blow up in popularity because of cletus. I myself want to buy a hovercraft like the one in this video.
"If I'm out doing something dangerous and I can't have my buddies with me, whats it all worth" best quote I've heard
Next tshirt quote right here
Next episode: Freedom Factory gets a new lake!
Block the drains, and it will be a lake after the next rain storm.
basically the oval is a lake...just needs to be filled up 😂
Jetboat race course!
please
needs a sticker that sais: "DANGER, FREEDOM RESCUE UNIT"
We would definetely need that in europe.
Or. "please call the"
A random purchase is always amazing!😁
It's easy to name this thing
It is loud
Blows alot hot air
Demands constant attention
And it's kinda unpleasant to be near
I name this craft U.S.S. Karen
the protect and swerve
well thats disgracing this things beauty
Umm....yeah...NO
I would have gone with DeSantis, but that's even more insulting to this fine engineering marvel.
U.S.S. Pelosi!
On today’s episode cleetus buys a tank at this point I wouldn’t be surprised
Baby steps - An Amphibious APC first...
He is technically a ‘Florida Man’
An LS powered Ripsaw would be right up his alley.
I think that would be the only reasonable thing to do now. And maybe a helicopter?... And a fighter jet! Lol
I guess you'll be visiting uncle Fin a lot earlier then originally anticipated
I'm from Wisconsin, and I've seen similar units out on the ice saving ppl who break thru with their pickups or ATVs. Looks like a hoot!!!
“They drive terrible, they’re just amazing vehicles” 😂😂🤣
I think the Scat has more in her but needs those thrust blades adjusted more aggressively. But the new one is absolute unit.
You can change the pitch of the blades and might get 1mph or 2. What you need to have is more RPM!!! That’s key with a propeller!
@@ecbadboy101 I like the hovercraft content and would like to see what extra push the prop adjustment would have. And obviously some sort of engine upgrade as well, something stupid but entertaining would be a 13b revving really high would be interesting lol
How do you know it was a "Fire and Rescue " hover craft? Lol its a mystery!
When the motor blows up in a month its time for a 427ci LS.
Cleetus - You need to dig out your pond and make it much larger!!!! Freedom shouldn't have any boundaries!!!!
I think I speak for everyone when I say: Hell. Yeah. Brother.
Yes.
Nah... would rather seem him put that money into the Tracker.
2028: Guys i just bought a decommissioned Space X spaceship
I’m not even American but I reckon this is about the most American thing I have ever seen
Man that thing takes the cake over Kyle's razzle dazzle and Emelio's gsxr swapped quad! For sure 🤙🤙🤙🤘🤘
"Is this the hood? We gotta get this thing off ASAP if it is."
🤣🤣🤣
You always want to purge the engine compartment of fuel vapor before starting or it could blow up and kill you, but yeah, I'm not sure if thats what he meant or if he just wanted to drool over the motor.
@@heatshield There is a running joke that he doesn't have hoods on his vehicles.
@@Cronus_1
You're so right, and when I typed that earlier I forgot that, but I was trying to give him a couple bonus safety points for knowing that he needs to vent or he could go kaboom. haha
👊😎
" I didn't want to buy any more random vehicles this year. "
-Cleeter
Spoiler: Cleet and Madi bought this to drive away from their wedding
👀
I think owning hovercrafts technically makes Cleet a captain. Does that mean he can perform the ceremony himself?
This channel has just transformed and went in such awesome directions the past year. It’s so exciting to be a part of this and witness everything.
