Glad to see the calf latch on to mom on her own,you gave the calf a good head start and it has to be rewarding knowing the calf is ok.I was not sure which one you gave the breath of life too.Glad all is well and i guess it was a special sigh of relief that you saved the calves life.Have a good nite and hope it goes well for u.😊
Oh, we get the odd angry cow, but we typically know which ones they are, and normally, they get that way for the first 24 hours after calving, then calm down.
Hey Scott, we use precision camera from Allen Leigh. I have a "bridge" from the barn to the house. So no wires in between. If you know what a bridge is, you'll understand. I know they work but don't know how to describe it.
@@TwinElmFarms I'm delighted you replied. Thank you so much. It made me day 🤣 Very best wishes to you and your animals. I have only recently found your channel and have watched every video since. You are true stockmen and have a fantastic operation. Well done to you all, and continued success to your channel.

I love your videos! Thank you for the farming education as well as seeing the beautiful cows/calfs.
Thanks for watching!
We use to have old bed sheets to wrap the new calves and carry them to the barn if the were born outside the barn. Enjoyed the video!!
Your cows seem so mellow. Guess they feel well taken care of and able to relax with trust.

Awesome job with your calves, well done! Enjoyed your video.

Do you cull your herd aggressively? The herd is very uniform.
On 150 cows we have been culling 10- 15.
@@TwinElmFarms 10%. Right on target.
On the coldest days how warm does it get in the calving barn?
I would say it is roughly 5-10 degrees Celsius warmer in the barn
I could see how a person could get frustrated
you can damage your camera filming welding sequences.
I used molasses to see if calf sucked
Great video, as always. I love your videos and your cattle. But... I hate the way you call the calf sucking "eating" 🤣
Lol thanks.. I'll work on that.

I'm glad to hear you enjoy them. I try to reply with at least a❤ to all those that comment something respectful.
You need a bigger sled 😂😂😂
I do, they make a bigger one....
you should ware gloves when in the shop working
Lol, I can't do it. I've tried.
You never wear gloves when running a drill press. Great way to get your hand wrapped around the drill bit
