    Glad to see the calf latch on to mom on her own,you gave the calf a good head start and it has to be rewarding knowing the calf is ok.I was not sure which one you gave the breath of life too.Glad all is well and i guess it was a special sigh of relief that you saved the calves life.Have a good nite and hope it goes well for u.😊

    We use to have old bed sheets to wrap the new calves and carry them to the barn if the were born outside the barn. Enjoyed the video!!

    Your cows seem so mellow. Guess they feel well taken care of and able to relax with trust.

      Oh, we get the odd angry cow, but we typically know which ones they are, and normally, they get that way for the first 24 hours after calving, then calm down.

    Calves are looking good Kendal. 124 lb calve nice. What brand camera do you use in the barn. Is it wireless?thanks Scott

      Hey Scott, we use precision camera from Allen Leigh. I have a "bridge" from the barn to the house. So no wires in between. If you know what a bridge is, you'll understand. I know they work but don't know how to describe it.

    Do you cull your herd aggressively? The herd is very uniform.

    • @TwinElmFarms
      @TwinElmFarms  ปีที่แล้ว

      On 150 cows we have been culling 10- 15.

    On the coldest days how warm does it get in the calving barn?

    • @TwinElmFarms
      @TwinElmFarms  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say it is roughly 5-10 degrees Celsius warmer in the barn

      You never wear gloves when running a drill press. Great way to get your hand wrapped around the drill bit
