Wow! This is a surprise! Thanks for featuring my video on your channel! I appreciate it! Apologies to the Chrysler fans and all viewers for calling out that Leyland P76 as a Chrysler. My English teacher back in high school had one and I did know this car. But I must admit, having been away from Australia for 20 years has jolted my memory with some model cars and for some reason, as I saw this car, I immediately thought Chrysler. Thankfully I have awesome viewers in the know with their great feedback that correct me and this helps me to get better at identifying. Tomorrow 29 December, at roughly 1.30pm Australian Eastern time, I'll be posting a walkaround video on my channel of these same cars and more cars Aus, US, Euro, JDM, Rotaries, etc, that were in the parking lot at Greenway, Wetherill Park. So for those interested you can get a closer look at them. Once again a massive thank you Ian (IWrocker) for featuring my video on your channel! I highly appreciate it buddy! Keep up the great work! All the best with the growth of your channel! And I wish you and all the viewers a Happy New Year!! Cheers, George.

I worked with an American motor head (petrol head) from Virginia and we spoke about cars often. He said that when he was younger and still in VA, he and his buddies (mates) honestly believed that the US was the only country in the world to have a car culture and more specifically, a muscle car industry. He met an Australian girl (sheila) in the US and they decided they'd live in Australia because of our wages and holidays. If they lived here, he could go home to see his family but if they lived in the US, she would never see her family. Anyway, when he arrived here he saw Falcons, Monaros, Toranas, Chargers, etc. and couldn't believe his eyes. He wrote to his friends at home, telling them that the US doesn't have a monopoly on muscle cars. As an aside, there are more hot rods in Australia per head of population than in the US.

You'd be pleasantly surprised that Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, the UK, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, and, surprisingly, Japan, all have muscle car fans as well. Also, South Africa, Germany, the UK, Argentina, Brazil, and Canada all have their own unique muscle car entries as well. Moreover, a lot of people do LS swaps on the Chevrolet (Brazil) Opala SS.

"Some sort of ute" at 5.40 is a 1966/67 HR Holden.
9:17 "cool color" is a 1959-1960 FB Holden,
9:20 is most definitely a US Dodge Charger. It wears about 50 square feet more sheet metal than our Aussie Charger.
The last one, white sedan turning left, was a 1976-77 CL Valiant. Almost identical to the last model Valiant built here, the CM built from 1978-81.

The ESP was the deluxe version of Dicks Greens Tuff XE Falcon, Scheel seats, fancy wheels, not the ones in the video, two tone paint, sports steering wheel, and I think they may have had a suspension upgrade as well. ESP was supposed to be modern equivalent of a GT but had no real performance mods, mainly just cosmetics.
Grey car with all the plastic spoiler bits was a Walkinshaw VL Commodore, he took over where Brock and HDT left off.
Blue Group A SS was a Peter Brock special.
Next blue car with the big gold wheels was an RX3.
Black car with the power was a Valiant Charger, that's why you liked it. lol.
Blue 2 Door Torana, just before the white 4 door.
    Yes, US Charger.
Yellow LC/LJ Torana, Brock won Bathurst in an XU1 version that had triple carbies on the straight 6.
Lime Green Leyland P76, 4.4L V8 and you could fit a 44/55 Gallon drum in the boot with a bail of hay.
HD/HR 65/66 Holden with the blower.
Was the beautiful car with the fins a Cadillac?
Either a Datsun Roadster as raced by the other Pete Brock in the US, or an MG which the datsun was copied from.
White Chrysler by Chrysler with L plates and no lights right at the end.

Another thing about the P76 at 11:45 is that while even now some people are still repeating the Lemon propaganda , it was so good that it led an international very testing marathon rally through Europe and North Africa . Some of the story here :
    th-cam.com/video/o04tHPPflvk/w-d-xo.html
Much more of an Australian design than the first Holden, Falcon or Valiant.
Even more recently a P76 won the Peking to Paris long distance Rally for classic cars several times to show it was not a fluke. Up against Porsches, Mercedes, BMW and numerous other more expensive cars. Some coverage :
    th-cam.com/video/RgyD-uTxiwo/w-d-xo.html
Not bad for an 87 year old driver. Most 87 year Olds struggle to keep driving let alone be part of a team winning a Peking to Paris rally several times in a so called lemon car.

From Australia. Hi, at 11:46 is a Leyland P76 (technically a Bristish company) which tried to get a foothold into the Australian motoring industry. Never sold very well or for very long, but their advertising made a (true) claim that you could fit what we in Australia call a 44 gallon drum in to the boot/trunk. I never send any links to avoid any possible virus/malware issues, but I think it's safe to Google with any key words you see fit. It sounds like the car in video is V8 version. Take care. Love your channel.

The Lotus Cortina is a Ford Cortina, but it is the performance version of it (actually called Ford Cortina Lotus) which had it’s engine developed and fitted to the rolling 2 door shell by Lotus Cars so that Ford could get the Cortina a Group 2 Homologation with the tuned engine that Lotus had developed. Loved this. Ian, you're totally a global citizen. "Do you say Mazda or Maazda? I say Maazda" Who else would be that sympathetic to other nations' ears? I agree that that Falcon was a show-stealer. Great to see mostly Aussie and American musclecars together. I like the 71-73 fastback Mustangs, but I sometimes think that the equivalent Falcon is better looking. I'm a GM fan first, then Chrysler, then Ford. Vauxhall in the UK also imported and sold the 2000s Monaro and then the HSV, the latter sold as the VXR8. I love that Vauxhall did that. They're already RHD, so just import them from its Aussie GM cousin, swap the lion badge for a griffin, and away we go!! V8 muscle on our narrow winding roads. Spirit of the Lotus Carlton. Unfortunately in my hometown, there's a Land Rover garage with several clean Vauxhall Monaros, VXR8s, a HSV a couple of Maloos and even a 4th gen Camaro, all having had their engines and drive trains ripped out to be implanted in some crusty, rickety old Defenders. Such a shame. My heart sinks whenever I drive by. Over here, I'd love one day to own a Vauxhall HP Firenza. Only a 4-cylinder, but they really made it look special. There was a famous Repco Holden V8 powered racing car Firenza called Baby Bertha, and the South Africans turned the standard Firenza into a Can-Am V8 special which they christened Little Chev. As you can imagine, the Firenza was a pint-sized musclecar-looking machine, but perfectly in proportion.

The G8 is a Holden Commodore SS equivalent. The G8 GXP is an VE HSV GTS/R8 equivalent, they are based on the Opel Omega chassis (EU) which is also from the VY/etc Holdens of the 90s. It's hilarious seeing Holden doors and body on cars in the middle of rural Germany where many were used (Opel). The GM Alpha platform (Camaro Gen 5) is based off the VE/Opel Omega evolution. I have completely dismantled a later HSV GTS and have the Opel Omega/VE service manual (covers US and AU variations), lot of the parts in the HSVs are (as you'd expect) are stock Commodore parts but with added upholstery insert or different cloth or plastic coatings. You can see the original Commodore part numbers on them with HSV part # stickers added often. If they make enough of them it has an HSV part in the plastic mold.
Also you'll see the VE HSVs have different rear lights to the Commodores, it's the one part the guys who change body kits don't copy, because they are 1-2k just for the lights and at that point they may as well just look at buying a damn HSV lol.
