Thank you for this video! That dipstick has been in my cart for a while now. Now that I have seen your input, I’m getting it. Thank you for your service! I am currently in the Army, 8 years now. 12 more years to go! 💪
160 plus tax for a plastic and magnetic dipstick is ridiculous. It’s called the Harley tax for the hell of it. I paid that for my ultracool oil filter. Love your videos. Keep up the good work.
I picked up one of the magnetic dipsticks on your recommendation. Thanks for the aftermarket tips! Keep em coming. Also, I found that if you can get your hands on the cap after installing the dipstick on the bike, you can pull off the cap and then reseat it without having to remember anything. ;-)
Thats how I clocked mine , on the bike..but it was easier to show everyone out on the clamp/...but yes you can...I should have mentioned that lol Thank you for checking it out...im loving the new dipsticks on both bikes.
I ordered 2 of these. One for my 23 Road Glide standard that was a 107 to a 129 S&S big bore kit. Then the other to my 22 Street Bob with the 114 with a stage 2. It will be interesting what I see. 😊
Hopefully you dont see anything lol clean running motor would be great I interested to see mine too...if the weather would let up and let us ride sometime soon
Just ordered my Figurati Designs magnetic dipstick for my '17 SGS with the 107 M8. Thanks for the video. I also ordered some of the Swingarm Covers with the thin blue line flag. My First Responder discount through GOVX helped reduce my out of pocket a bit as well.
Awesome video this will be the second item I have purchased from figurate because of this channel. As always a great video and I think I have done just about every mod upgrade on my 14 flhxs as you did. Great content and thank you for your service to us and to this beautiful country 🇺🇸!
Thats awesome Randy! This dipstick is pretty cool...imexcited to see if anything is going on inside my engine...hoping for nothing on that stick to be honest lol
I would like it to read the temperature also. Years ago on my 1993 Softail Custom I was changing the oil in the transmission and it was silver looking then I removed the dipstick so it would drain better and I found the lower plastic part of the dipstick was missing and the transmission chewed it up so I bought another factory type dipstick but then 🤔 I thought this might happen again so I just put the old one back in as a plug and saved the new one for checking the transmission oil. This bike has a hard mount on the engine which might be the reason it broke.
most of us know that harleys run hot...however most people shouldnt know how hot they really run lol..they are made to run hot, always have been...most people would freak out if they knew how hot they get
I run a Feuling vented dipstick. I wonder if I can change that dipstick insert with the Figurati one without losing the vent feature ... 🤔 An option might be to switch the dipsticks every 2500 miles for a 1 hour ride to filter any potential metal scrap out. What do you think?
Ive never ran a vented dipstick but if it that top comes off like this one you should be able to ...however I think the second idea is probably much easier...a good ride will filter out most of the particles.
What's the difference between buying a magnetic dipstick and putting an inexpensive powerful magnet on the side of your oil filter so these metal shavings stay in the filter? This would be a great value if it also was a vented dipstick.
@brianfreeman3827 Fueling is the only one that has them and they're not cheap. The only thing I didn't like about it was the set screw was an Allen bolt that was perhaps a 1/64 or some ridiculously small size that almost nobody keeps an Allen wrench that small in their toolbox
Great video Steve seem like very solid products! On board for three items for sure swing arm & axle covers, plus, the dipstick just seems like a no-brainer preventive item! BTW, your videos aren't just informative they're actually fun to watch. You seem like a really cool guy. @@sikbaggers I got the sound stream head unit on my which monitors all that stuff right to your radio 2018 road glide and that thing will run 320 motor temperature
