2021 Volkswagen ID.4 1st Edition | In-Depth Review

The 2021 Volkswagen ID.4 1st Edition is a new electric $40,000 crossover

Lauren, that's the most detail on the ID.4 infotainment system that I have found so far. Great job! The lower console dividers can be swapped with the removeable cupholders. The AWD version with 'normal' black or dark grey steering wheel should be the one to buy.

We picked up the Mustang Mach-E because of the style. Ford really has stepped up in build quality with the Mach-E. I still have my Audi Q7 for long road trips. ID.4 with the AWD will have a lot more power and be a better competitor to the Mach-E. Great review!

1:47 No frunk. No nose-heavy extra weight ahead of the front axle makes it more of a RWD-like neutral handling vehicle.
2:34 No 1-pedal driving - Coasting and Creep mode applies Newton's 1st law to the fullest. It's more efficient, and it takes less energy to accelerate a vehicle in motion than at rest. Driver involves bringing the vehicle to a stop by applying the brakes. Thus put the brakes and the foot to work. No rusty steel brakes.

The white interior was exclusive to the First edition model, which is sold out so fixating on it seems short sighted.
The single set of window switches sounds great for those of us that accidentally open rear windows.

This doesn’t compete with the Model Y or Mach E exactly. They are all electric but in different classes. It’s misleading to compare them or hold them to the same standard. The interior color combinations aren’t for everyone.

A certified electrician has to install the charger, the lowest price I've seen is $500 plus the install fee.

You didn’t do a very good job of explaining charging options including level 2 home charging using a 240 volt outlet. That’s how most people will do most of their charging. The ID.4 will fully recharge overnight on a level 2 charger at home.
