EDIT: "That's where babies come from" so funny story about that...
I was laughing at the "that's where babies come from" banter and then i was reminded how the nier timeline came to be. Everything got started because a dragon had a rap battle with a giant, gray pregnant lady.
Now I want a new NieR entry where they take the rhythm battle to the next level it is quite literally, a dragon vs goddess utilizng Parappa the Rapper style rhythm games. I want the rap battle in all its true glory.
Even though I still shudder in XIV when I hear those 4 note chimes. I. HEAR. A. SOUND. T-T
Fun fact: The boss duo on the elevator: Xun-Zi and Meng-Zi are both Confucianism philosophers, following the trend in Nier Automata that characters are named after famous philosophers.
Xun-Zi is famous for the theory that humans are inherently evil, while Meng-Zi is famous for the theory that humans are inherently good
… *takes a breath to start talking… stops* Well… *pauses* no, trying to explain yoko taros logic only makes people more confused (he did write and plan this raid… with the raid dev team being our friends and not allowing him to DELETE OUR ACCOUNTS)
Most of this part of the raid is Nier 1, but the endboss brings it even further back into Drakengaard. That boss has Queen Beast/Final Flower written all over it and emerges from something that looks like the Bone Cascet or Seed of Destruction and even got the music bands from the Drakengaard 1 and 3 rythom game ends.
"Oh god oh shit" - the motto for that raid, honestly
My personal fav of the 3 the bosses, the music the LORE implications. Hell yeah
And since this trio of raids is confirmed to be *canon* in NieR & Drakengard lore, that also means that if we get another game that includes 2B and/or 9S, they may actually make a reference to these raids, such as them possibly wondering if the raid team that helped them were the "humans" who used to exist in their own world. :)
Fun note: Those weird lines of numbers that have letters mixed in are actually words written in Hexadecimal.
For instance, the subtitle for the final boss is shown as '41626572726174696F6E' and if you translate that from Hexadecimal to text, it reads as 'Aberration'.
Even the first two bosses of this raid are talking in Hexadecimal, though the blacked out parts in their 'text' makes it very difficult to translate what they're saying.
I may never have played drakenguard but those damned chimes still manage to unsettle me during the final fight.
They are ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING to those who know Drakengard lore
@@craigfunk3453 there are two kinds of people. People who hear the bells and go "That's a weird musical choice" and people who hear the bells and have a deep visceral reaction of "OH GOD OH NO NO PLEASE GOD NO"
This is my favourite instanced area in all of FFXIV. The entire Set of Neir raids are the the best and this is the top one. The music, the visuals, the fights are all top notch.

Congratulations! You just completed the Shadowbringers 24 main raid series! You just triggered all the events in the Drakenguard series! Which in turn triggers the events of the Nier series! Which in turn triggers the events of the Shadowbringers 24 man raid series!
But if we didn't go into this raid series, then we wouldn't have caused Drakengard, which means the events of Nier never happen, which means the raid would never have existed, so we couldn't have gone in in the first place, and why do I smell copper?

It's always fun to watch people doing this raid for the first time. People complain about this raid being too long, but the fights are fun enough that I feel like it offsets the length.
Looking back at the older raids always makes me appreciate how creative the creators can get with the game mechanics

This one is definitely my favorite alliance raid. It's full of interesting mechanics and the music and overall atmosphere is top notch.
Orbonne Monastery is probably still my overall favorite (though FFT nostalgia is probably a big factor there, especially with Agrias' presence, as Agrias saved my butt so many times in my first ever playthrough of Tactics, most notably when I fought Queklain/Cuchulainn, as if I didn't have Agrias with me, I very likely would have lost that particular fight).
Gotta love that the final boss 2nd phase THROWS the SE HQ building at you

For Hansel and Gretel, the lower HP one will put up the shields, and that tank should pull him away and turn him around so jobs like dancer wont kill themselves with their dances hitting a parry shield
I do love this raid, but its a bit long, but hey. The up coming moogle event is going to include this raid, so ive you want more reasons to farm it.

I love the musical tour this raid series goes through, specially the original pieces. That last one is so beautiful I was almost crying during the goddamn bossfight.
All Nier raids are treat - its especially fun if you run them with a bunch of post-ShB players who havent farmed this when it was current: the corpses are piling up to the roof tops XD XD XD
Dont get me wrong, the EW alli raids are something else (if you dont cry during the boss battle music, Imma make you cry - mark my words... :P ), but in the Nier raids the mechnics are something else ^.^
Yeah I went into the EW raids blind, and while a couple things tripped me up, it wasn't that hard to pick it up mid run, and by the second run I had it down. Not to say they're easy, they are challenging. I just think it's a great balance of testing you but also readability. Also the music is peak.

Like I said during the stream, this one is EXHAUSTING for me. I feel drained every time I run it.
I love running it, particularly so I can poke fun at the fact that Her Inflorescence literally *throws SquareEnix HQ at us* as one of her attacks! I tend to keep a line like: *"HEY! Throwing SquareEnix HQ at us is cheating!"* ready for that exact moment.

10/10 would recommend getting yeeted by a building
I always cry a little when the tank doesnt point the unshielded end inwards during H&G
Best Easter Egg in this fight..... the Square Enix building gets thrown at you.
There's two proximity marks in the middle and the people doesn't go to the borders....... My anxiety 😂😂

i imagine if y’all liked Nier Automata y’all will also enjoy the original Nier (Nier: Replicant). it recently got a remaster/remake, with bonus content. and helps set the stage for Nier Automata.
This last raid was The first original NieR and Drakengard references
Nier raids remain the most spectacular 24man raids... (EW's are nice, but imo not on the scale as the Nier raids..)
You're much kinds er to your retainers than I. I have Holdmyshyte and Comehereyou. Then again I have chocobos named Elevenherbs, Extracrispy, and Arrozconpollo.

You guys should really limit effects on skills of other players, it can be dangerous especially if you do raids or trials first time
