Thank you so much for the video! I am used to newer models with easily accessible filters so I was terrified of breaking this machine. But you included all the necessary details and showed all the steps in a succinct manner. Pretty much saved from getting a new one, so thank you again!
Wow. Thank you this video. Used it to take mine apart after it started smelling a bit funky. Boy, was it filthy! So much better now after scrubbing with brushes, soaking in vinegar, and wet vacuuming the scum out. Much appreciated.
Any tips on how to clean that back area where the water collects once the screens are off? Mine was clogged with a lot of slimy debris and i don't have a shop vac. Thanks
I tried a cleaner/descaler on mine several times, changing soap, loading it differently, had maintenance increased water temp, and my dishes still came out dirty. Trying this as a last ditch effort but it’s proving harder than it seemed. I got the arms off and one nut but I can’t seem to pull the tab enough to lift the assembly. Shouldn’t have tried this coming off a cold I guess
@@becausestuffbreaksyeah the previous maintenance said it was a cheapo model. Got the circular part under the wash arms off but there’s like hair and debris in it that I can’t really get cleaned out well. A frustrating piece of equipment for sure
Is it normal for this model to end the cycle with a small puddle of water at the bottom ? Covers the filter, maybe 1-2" deep ? Or should the base be completely free of water at the end of the cycle. ?
No clue. Let me know if you figure it out. I assume there's nothing to clean under there. I believe it's just covering the electrical connections for the heating element.
My first time after 5 years. I was expecting to find a mess. The only thing that had something was the screen down in the hole that I wiped with a rag. Just felt like a slimy layer over it but not much else.
@@becausestuffbreaks we had a slimy layer, too. I hope wiping it off makes a difference. Your video was very helpful. I have a different model (GE GSD2300R20WW), but it looks similar, and the steps are the same. With the last step, if you use the flathead to pry the clip in the other direction, it's easier (i.e., use the flathead on the other side from where you used it.) Thanks!
@@JBBstrategy let me know if it helped after wiping off the slime. So far, it has seemed to be getting everything clean after this. We were having problems with stuff not getting clean, especially if it was greasy.
How stupid to make a filter so difficult to clean! All that work you did and nothing was blocking the filters. I rent so I’m not bothering with this dumb dishwasher
Good video sir what happens if the tab in the back breaks?
I think it jams the whole spinning assembly against the rack and keeps it from spinning
@@becausestuffbreaks I put mine back together broke tab and make sure you put the Screw back in the front . Mine works fine with the broken tab.
@@scottreid4698 awesome info! Multiple people have commented with the same problem. Thanks for reporting back.
@@becausestuffbreaks Defiantly a great video. That piece is the hardest thing to get off.

Glad I could help. Thanks for watching!

Man, I rent a space with a dishwasher like this and I was so lost on how to get the spinner off! Thank you for the video

Shop vac would probably work best to suck out water and debris. Use a rag on the slime.
Use baking soda, salt, vinegar method.

I broke off the little tab, now what?
New dishwasher?
@@ritaberaro3282 hey Did you figure out the Tab issue. I broke mine too?

Yep just broke my tab too!
I put it back together wit the tab broke and everything still works fine ,Just make sure you put the screw back in the front.
👍👍👍👍 thanks. Really helped. But idk if it fixed my problem with my water not draining
That sucks. Thanks for watching!
Clean both ends of your hoses, especially the one that goes to the garbage disposal.
Super helpful thank you

Is there a way to clean it without taking it apart is there a special cleaner for it
Here's a cleaner and descaler amzn.to/3OzutUk
Thank you for starting with Biblical TRUTH!🥰🙌🏽
My issue is the back screen can’t come off😫😮💨I think my bolts are stripped
That's not good. Can you pull on the screen while trying to unscrew it?
@ I was able to just use pliers instead of the hex tool and they came right off! Praise the Lord!

My base is completely empty
It probably does that because you have heat dry setting on, so it may use the steam generated from the "puddle" of water
This is a 1/4 hex right?
Right
Is there a way to get it to drain after cleaning it? Mine was gross and I can’t get the sludge stuff to come out. Do I just run it with nothing in it?
Yes. Just run it
Ty I seen so many videos n not one but here did they say the bolt size!

So that tab holding the tube in broke, is that bad ?
That's bad. I assume the water pressure will pop out the spinning sprayer.
@@becausestuffbreaksany way to fix or replace it?
I don't know. I assume there is, but I've never done it
I am going to try a screw or bolt to go thru the thing that holds the filter on. Maybe it will hold the spray arm down
@thelucas6194 did you find a solution? I have the same problem
I have the same dishwasher but after you went through all of that trouble it wasn't even dirty. How long has it been since you checked it? 🤔
