    I got the Minimalist and I love it. I added the striker/blade, ranger bands, and FAT packs, all for a few buck more. Then I added two split shots rapped in foil for fish attraction and two screw in rings to make a fishing pole. Now that's awesome! Get one you'll love it. What if you go to take a pee and get chased by a bear 1/4 mile from camp, at night,

    I like the fact that all of that is in a simple bracelet that you'll probably wear everyday and basically take for granted until you need it.

    I worked with Dustin on getting a new cover for my compass. I bought it new off Ebay and he sent me a new cover and upheld a warranty on my bracelet. Really nice guy and great customer service. Love the product. Some times you have to pay for quality and it was worth it this time, thanks Dustin!

    for all of you complaining about cost they sell all the base components on their site as well and for what i can tell there reasonably priced and of course you can use your own gear. so you can make one yourself for $60 or less depending on if you want certain parts. the buckle, fat packs, ranger bands, and striker blade would be about $26 W/O para cord(only if your adding your own gear does this make it cheaper). and if you don't want a compass simply don't add a compass. personally ill give them the credit and pay them the $77 for the version i like.

    As an urbanite that rarely travels outside the city, I would see little use in getting one, but I think everyone should have one of these on their wrists for emergencies. Whenever I think of survival situations, I keep going back to movies like Cast away and The Grey where you're plunged into a world with nothing to protect you. If ever something like that happened, having one of these could save your life and it takes up nothing.

    It's one of the few I trust…I bought 2 (one for my son). Gladly I have not felt in a situation forcing me to use it…but I know it's in my wrist when I need it. Pricey…? You get what you pay for! Would you rather spend the money in half a dozen beers just to vomit them afterwards? Would id be well spent money!Thanks Wazoo, keep the good work, the best quality stuff and you'll keep the trust of your customers long after the others are dead!

    Thanks a lot for your questions, comments, and compliments! We're a small company trying to make big changes in the survival industry. Most of our products and components are completely original designs that we put A LOT of RnD into before manufacturing and making them publicly available (We don't produce anything that we wouldn't stake our own lives on). We really appreciate your feedback and value your opinions, so always feel free to email us. ~ Dustin

    The compass is a luxury item which isn't much use without a map and very few people would be able to take advantage of it anyway. You can get a reasonable firesteel and ferro rod really cheap and cut it in 2 then stick it into the buckle. That 'Retro Reflector' will only be good for up to 50 meters max and that's over clear ground, you can shout that far. The only thing you can't easily make yourself is the really small whistle but I'm sure I have seen small ones in Christmas crackers that would do the job if they are re-inforced with super glue or resin. If you have some DIY skills and a couple of basic tools you could make yourself a pretty good survival bracelet for peanuts that would be just as useful, you could even add some Exacto blades if you thought about it.

    • @ian-c.01
      @ian-c.01 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you know which direction you want to go then you don't need a compass, if you don't know which way then a compass is useless. The only time a compass would be useful is in a very dense forest but even then it can get you more lost if you are not fully trained how to use them. That is why I think this kit is stupid and overpriced, it is centred around the compass but in my opinion tht is the least likely item to be helpful. I am a diving instructor and I (try to) teach underwater navigation, It requires a lot of patience and time for most people to learn how to use compasses and they forget very quickly if they don't use them for a time. Very few people that I have taught remember to refresh these skills and every one makes the same mistakes. A compass is only useful if you have proper training and know which way to go and you train with it regularly to refresh your skills and then you will see how useless that stupid little compass is, you can't rely on that toy in a life or death situation.

    • @Wazoo
      @Wazoo 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      ***** It does have a blade. Forgot to mention it on the video. Ian Clarke Sorry buddy, but your quips about compass navigation are at odds with conventional wisdom and the product. Although, we can agree that a tool is only as useful as the person using it. Send me an email and I'll be happy to explain more. By the way, I'm a recreational DiveMaster and professional Public Safety Diver, too.
      ~ Dustin

    • @mikeyduke10
      @mikeyduke10 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      personally i don't agree, but thats probably because i live in england and its a lot smaller than USA if i was to get lost i would likely know (if not more in depth) at least which side of the country i was on.. then i could use the compass to find the nearest coastline (you're only ever about 75 miles from the coast at the most in the UK) thats only a 3 day hike or so and the chances of me walking the whole 75 miles without coming across a town or city would be very very slim to none. but you are probably right in the USA or inside of a large forest or national park they would be useless and unless you was very committed to the long hike to civilization the prospect of walking that far wouldn't be a very fun thought

    • @ian-c.01
      @ian-c.01 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wazoo Survival Gear LLC
      I am a Dive Instructor, I teach compass navigation and have seen many difficulties on many occasions and see many problems with this type of compass. I am more than qualified to discuss the benefits and disadvantages of compass navigation and at best, this compass offers false hope and in the wrong hands can lead an inexperienced user into great difficulties. If you know about compass navigation you will know what I am talking about, if not then you won't be able to use it anyway.

    • @superhashi
      @superhashi 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ian Clarke you are better off relying on the sun or the north star to determine your orientation than to rely on a compass... you will always have this information in your head. it won't be affected by a magnet or a piece of metal around you.

      Yeah it does look like an awesome piece of gear! As gear junkies these items are some of our (at least my) favorites!
      The fero rode was ingenues, a lot of thought went into this survival bracelet, if not it would have been done a long time ago. I mean I've put stuff in mine while making them but never sealed in water tight tubing, awesome again! Curious about the ranger bands though, how did he get such small ones (they look small) and if they are normal size tubes how did he get them in there? Most the bands I've made was with like 2.125".....

    • @robertchristian4473

      No I haven't. But now I will, that's a good idea. I bet I would have a good chance of finding a softer rubber at a local hardware store or ACE......

      If it's the one I'm thinking of though. It's got other stuff in the paracord than the normal 7 inner strains. Like Fishing Line. And other stuff. So it's probably a lot more costly to produce that kind of cord. But I'm with you. That's pretty high...

    i think this is the best bracelet ive seen. i would pay 50$. but 89$ is a little unattractive as others have said. i rather build one myself for half the price and double wide with more paracord. but this is truly the best survival bracelet ive seen. alot of thought was put into this. especially the liquid compass. most compasses are CRAP.

      50$ As much as I respect wazoo's ingenuity, 50 is about as much as Im willing to pay for a paracord bracelet.

    For $85, I'm going to hire a survival instructor to follow me into the woods. He will be responsible for carrying all gear including my pack.

    I just recently bought the Friendly Swede paracord bracelet... I thought this seemed nicer, especially with the whistle.... but $85?!? Price is very unattractive. You'd get more sales if you take a risk in reducing your prices.

    I don't know. It's hard to get all this stuff into such a tiny package without getting into the territory of gimmicky novelty. Great idea, but I'd really appreciate a genuine-use review of it.

    i like the one i made much better just from watching youtube videos and useing amazon mines a quick release braid, whistle clasp, fishing kit wrapped in foi, mini magnifier, ferorod, small blade, compass,and a large amount of tinder and a chard wic wrapped in plastic wrap and its the same size as the one in the video. i dont think people should buy kits like this but make there own so its the items that you know that you have practiced with so if you need it you dont need to try and figure out how do again but thats just my thought

    $15 would be appropriate for the extras with $20 being top of the market.
