I'm glad Bulova is continuing to make nice timepieces and upping their game. A brand with such heritage deserves to be respected. I think they are on the right path. I, myself, have a couple of Bulova watches, along with my Seikos, Orient Star, Tissot, Longines, Breitling and Ulysse Nardin. This GMT might be next on my list.
Might have to purchase online. I live in Hawaii and there was only one delivered to all of the islands from what I could gather, seem to be a dime a dozen online though. Since I'm not rich this is my most expensive watch (got it on sale for $650) but I will say it is by far my favorite. Fits great, looks good, and a leather strap with a butterfly clasp is always a plus. At least in my opinion.
I which you think is better for first proper watch
Bulova , hamilton, tissot , seiko or orient
Under 500 dollars
@2062 Arnav Kathuria For under 500 it depends on what you are looking for. Tissot has nice quartz watches at like 350 (prx) you can find the powermatics on sale some times for 550. Seiko have good automatic watches from around the 350 range. As for Hamilton you in the 500 range you would be down to just the khaki. Bulova has some watches in that range just not usually in my personal taste. I do have this watch and love it as well as a skeleton. Orient I don't own one but I know they have a few options in this rage and seem to get a decent amount of praise so just depends on what you are looking for.
@@ArnavKathuriapersonal Exactly as Gamelockbreaks mentioned: Depends on what you want. In my opinion: If you want mechanical watches For me, Orient is the way to start. Then move to an automatic Tissot (or Longines/Hamilton if they are your style) for a classic style or to a Seiko (especially if looking for sports/diver/GMT). If the movement does not matter, I will go hands down on Citizen Eco-Drive watches, since they quartz but powered by any source of light and are supposed to last for decades.
My first dress watch is an Orient (USD 190). My first diver watch is a Citizen Promaster (USD 270). My punchbag is a Timex Ironman (USD 70). I love all of them!!
Bulova does it again. Smart, refined looking GMT at a great price. (Only wish the 30m water resistance was improved upon for practical reasons. I've done too many preflights in the rain, and watches get wet.) But for the traveler sitting snugly inside the aircraft cabin hopping time zones, great GMT choice.
This is a gorgeous watch. Thank you Teddy for featuring it and bringing it to our attention. While many of Bulova's design are beautiful, very often their watches are too large for guys with small wrists, such as myself. I am glad to see that this watch is relatively sleek and compact, given the complex function of the caliber it houses.
I would say most Bulovas look like absolute shit minus this one and a few others
My wife bought me the white and gold bezel today for my birthday. I love it its a very nice looking watch.
My wife got me the blue dial variant. I love it, fits on my wrist very well since I have slightly wider wrists than the average person. I also prefer the butterfly clasp, they are so much easier to work with than a regular pin buckle. It is by far my favorite in my collection currently. My wife bought it for me, I think she got it on sale at Macy's for $650.
May I know the size of your wrist? Mine is 17 cm but not sure if this will be too large.
Bulova was my first watch ever definitely has a soft spot in my heart and this new GMT is a pretty big step up love the colors and design might have to pick this one up. Well done Bulova
I have Bulova's Lunar Pilot and I absolutely love it. I will def check this one out
Just picked one up for under $400 USD, can't wait to take delivery!
Great video. I would buy this watch in a second if there were a 38mm or 40mm version.
Interesting watch. I think it would be improved aesthetically with Baton markers rather than Roman numerals. And what's the point of a display back with a movement that looks that industrial?
Agreed! I could live with the uninteresting movement, but the Roman numerals are hard to overlook. Just looks cluttered to my eye.
I like the Roman Numerals but I definitely understand Batons wouldve been better
Got this watch last year and in my opinion for the price you can't beat it. Out of all the more expensive "true GMT's" I think it is one of the sexiest.
What does "true GMT" mean?
its when the second hour hand can move independently to track another time zone so you got the normal hour hand for your local time the minute hand works for all time zones including your local time now you got a true gmt all the hands moving. @@CamelJockey562
@@CamelJockey562 True GMT vs.
office GMT models. Although both variations are GMT watches, the “true GMT” name typically refers to timepieces where the 12-hour hand can be adjusted independently, while the “office GMT” moniker describes those with an independently adjustable 24-hour hand.
Man you sold me on this watch thank you. Love your videos.
Glad to hear it!
@@TeddyBaldassarreReviews too be honest I heard bad reviews on the website I was going to buy it on. So I decided to go with the Frederique Constant Classic Moonphase FC-712MS4h4. But still thank you for all your reviews wish I could work for you one day.
I would be all over this if they release it in 38-39mm! In both color ways.
Usual stuff
I’m waiting for the Seiko 5 gmt movement to come to a 38mm form
And with 100 m water resistance.
Made in China
I bought one in Walmart for 20 bucks looks just as good
I have this watch and love it. Bulova makes great watches for reasonable price.
The blue one looks great!
I don't know why Bulova gets so much crap. They make great timepieces. I recently bought the Surveyor with black dial and it's a gorgeous watch.
My guess is how much they’re sold on malls. Which I never understood why some people look down on that
Breitling is sold on a lot of malls, that doesn’t make the Navitimer any less of a watch
Ithis I 1 watch I am definitely looking to get. The size is perfect for my wrist. The only thing I find strange is the 4 o'clock hour. The Roma numeral 4 is usual IV not IIII
I'm just getting into the hobby, and I decided to make this my first watch. I picked it up yesterday, and I love it! I have a compass/clock/tuning fork tattoo, and this watch goes with it beautifully. What I'm trying to figure out now, is how to dress casually while wearing a nice watch. Usually I'm just a tshirt and shorts guy, but I feel like that's not going to cut it. Thanks for the video!!
Swap the strap out for something a little more casual. The stock strap on this one makes it look very formal
the watch to make you get a whole new wardrobe lol
Excited about the movement, for sure. Not interested in a dress GMT, though. I’m looking forward to some sports models with this movement.
👀
Love that blue dial design, and it would be a watch I would buy… but… unfortunately I have a smaller wrist so personally it rules that out for me.
I hope they do/can release a small diameter variant, it would 100% make it into the collection!
The blue is very attractive! Unfortunately finding attractive GMTs for smaller wrists is indeed a challenge. I'm interested in the new Seiko GMT with its short lug to lug. Also the Lorier Hyperion.
Now I understand why this watch are sold out everywhere. I am shocked how accurate this watch is. I have a lot of automatic watches but no one is accurate like this one is. This watch has deviation less than +1 second per day. How it is possible to construct such accurate automatic watch? This watch are watch revolution
Calm down, it is a matter of luck. This movement is not ''very accurate''. You can have a good precision of the box, but it doesnt mean that the watch is accurate be carefull.
Finnaly something nice to see from Bulova...yes it's big and have only 30m water resistance...but still great looking watch...
Thanks for a great overview of this good looking watch.
Everything is great about the watch, it is awesome. But why is there an “ IIII “ instead of “ IV “???
"When Roman numerals were in use by the Roman Empire, the name of the Romans' supreme deity, Jupiter, was spelled as IVPPITER in Latin. There was a feeling that using the start of Jupiter's name on a clock dial, and it being upside down where it fell, would be disrespectful to the deity, so IIII was introduced instead."
Now I have a question. Teddy talks about being a "Full Authorized Dealer". What does "Full" mean. Is there such a thing as a partially authorized dealer?
Thank you!! I purchased one today… now we are just waiting for the delivery. You always do an amazing job!
The blue dial looks great; however if the caseback didn't tell you how easily this could've been a 40.5mm, the unfortunate position of the date window hammers that home.
That dial is super sexy, but I’m currently saving up for the new Longines GMT, so this one will have to wait.
Crybabies in here whining about the size of the watch when it’s not even that big. No one told you to have a girlie wrist size, then the other half crying about the watch only being 30 M water resistant. If my math serves me correctly that’s 105 ft worth of water, when is anybody ever going to be in those types of depths? And if you are diving, going to the pool etc why the HELL would you wear this watch in the first place? It’s a dress watch for Pete sake, SMFH. Good job Bulova, there’s always room for improvement but this is a solid piece at a great price point.
Wow...smart functional and amazing value thanks for the top quality review as always!
I am not typically a Bulova fan, but this particular watch is quite beautiful. I only wish they offered it in a smaller size, a 39 - 40mm size would be perfect and I think fit many most wrists a bit more comfortably. Thank you for another outstanding review and photography.
Most attainable true gmt is tissot chemin (
I don’t understand why 100m water resistance is not a standard feature these days. Perhaps I’m missing something, but it doesn’t seem like it should be that difficult to have a screw-down crown and threaded case back with 100m rating on any watch, especially when Pagani Design are doing it on watches under $100.
That’s fair. However I wouldn’t swim with a fairly dressy watch on a leather strap anyway. I have cheap quartz divers for pool/beach/lakeside duty.
there are 10 bar watches without screw-down crowns
I like it a lot. But why is Bulova obsessed with making such huge watches?
Teddy, what are your thoughts on the Bulova Precisionist X?
I like the look of the watch and the movement. But 30m water resistance? Why Bulova?
Such beautiful watches. Wish they make the exact model in smaller frame with 262khz
Comparable to the Frederick Constant Yacht Timer GMT also owned by Citizen.
FC YT is basically double the price even on the Grey Market…
Is there a stainless steel bracelet option? 43mm is a bit big. Wished they made one at 39mm.
This one is a really nice watch! It presents a great value for price and I am sure they will be able to sell a lot of those timepieces. But I wonder whether Orient might release a GMT-watch, after Seiko and Bulova offer those. Especially as the Kamasu is a rival to the Seiko SKX/5-series....
Check out the Zelos Mako GMT 40mm. It is a micro brand gmt. $630 or $730 depending on
What do u think of the Bulova Curv?
What watch are you wearing in this video?
If they release a model with a metal bracelet, I'll buy it for sure.
We may be working on what you're looking for 👀
@@JackMasonbrand really?
39mm and 10atm and I'm in else it is Seiko as vostoks is out of picture for the moment .. i work in 2-3diffrent time zones and the simple GMT is good enough for me
The only thing about this that interests me is that 9075 movement, not this watch, i’m just excited to see what Microbrands will do with this new movement.
Can you review the jack mason with this movement it looks fantastic
Beautiful watch! I really want it! However, it is definitely large for my wrist.
Hi Teddy, love your channel! I have a vintage Bulova Accutron that needs servicing but my local service centre doesn’t have parts because it’s so old. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Throw it in the garage
Can't wait for the movement to start getting picked up by micros
What are your thoughts on the Certina DS Action GMT?
I wish Certina were sold in the U.S. they’ve got some great watches that are hard to find here.
I wonder why they used "IIII" for 4 and not "IV"?
just picked this up for $529.50...it's a lot of watch for the price....and I love the size....not a fan of the lady sized watch trend...but they should have just put a decorated caseback on...the movement is uninteresting to say the least....keep up the great content...
Bulova is so frustrating. Their watches are either too big or Invicta-level gaudy. It’s like they have a designer whose job is to throw a monkey wrench in all designs. I wish they didn’t own the Precisionist movement so that it could be put in some nice looking watches.
The 'Accutron II' line of watches were beautiful, they used that wonderful movement. But they have long since been discontinued.
Exactly. They have some nice designs but just screw it up somehow. The Lunar Pilot is a nice chrono with real history, but why on earth is it 45 mm??
@@TheInsicor YES! The Lunar Pilot in particular is so annoying. The Omega Moon Watch is so expensive and there is Bulova’s chance to have a legit Moon watch alternative with a much more reasonable price and what do we get? 45mm.
I think they bias towards catering to the general consumer. It's frustrating to the enthusiast, but I think they do well overall. The average consumer wants a larger watch, for what it's worth. I didn't quite get it until I was at a Macy's not too long ago. In that setting, 38mm watches in the case seemed like ladies watches. Once they are on your wrist you love it, but I think they don't even catch the eye to the average consumer and they never get tried on.
I'm curious what the size of the original lunar pilot prototype was. It's not impossible that was also 45mm.
This 100,000%. I've been looking for a beatup precisionist watch just so I can recase it in something that doesn't look like a mall special. C'mon Bulova, give us something with some class!
What are your thoughts on fossil watches ⌚️?
Is this unidirectional spinning like the 9000 series with the noise?
The Dial!
Beautiful watch.
Nobody ever talks about the Burberry bu7505 looks almost like this one! It’s a really nice pice. It’s the South Pole edition see if you can find one. Thanks
????…It’s a Quartz compared to Bulova Miyota 9075 automatic movement..not in the same league…
What about the Seiko sharp edged gmt?
Nice video
can you put a bracelet on this watch?
This movement in an Archive reissue of the Astronaut GMT please Bulova
When the movement is unattractive or uninteresting just slap a caseback on it. It doesn't need to be displayed and unnecessarily adds to the thickness of the watch.
Those are some damn nice looking watches. I Really like the design and finishing for the price. But yeah as you said, the size kills it for me which is a shame.
Make it 39mm and I'm sold
Can you review the SSK001?
Gorgeous watch but arrrrgh! Why 30m water resistant???
The Tissot Mens Chemin des Tourelles GMT is the most affordable "true" GMT on the market. You can get a new one right now for $379
not sure where
Teddy, with all due respect, I think a louder background music makes your videos so much better. I don't know if it's a new idea of yours or something else but you've been making great videos from day one and I'm a big fan of your channel so I just wanted to tell you my opinion. Keep up the good work and good luck.
This at 39-40 would be classy
Looks nice
Anyone can help me: I just got this watch for my dad bd, he loves it, but not sure how to start it. What we need to be extra careful? Please. Thank you
Shake it
Exciting watch! Case size (for a dress-look) and Roman numerals are deal breakers for me. I'll be watching what Citizen/Bulova releases.
The dial design is a little on-the-nose, but it works. And the rotor could use a little bit of decoration. I mean, give me ...something, if that's all I have to look at.
I'm dumb. The caseback has sample written on it. I'm 99% sure the retail rotor will, at least, be signed.
There’s a black version exclusive to Europe
Why is everyone forgetting the MIDO Ocena Star GMT? Swiss Made diver true GMT for only 200-300 more. Would've been impressed if it was at the 400-500 USD price point but at almost 900 it's not an extraordinary "true" GTM offering
It’s definitely a cool looking watch. I hope to see more deployments of this movement. A 24 hour rotating bezel to add a third time zone would be perfect
Looks like they borrowed the dial from the Frederique Constant world timer
Tq. Are you going to review the most attainable office gmt too? ;)
Bamford’s GMT is at a similar price point w great finishing and is more wearable across different wrist sizes. It has also been subject to some interesting collaborations. Bamford is renowned for customization prowess.
Bamfords is not a travelers GMT
@@spslayback thx for letting me know, not well versed on GMT complications. what’s the diff?
So the Seiko 5 Gmt isn’t a true GMT?
Nope
I have a large enough wrist but for that style I think
I watched this vid and had to buy it 😂
What is true or not true about a GMT?
Yes it would have been useful for him to explain this
And that, people, is what a horological home run looks like.
Do we think Bulova will do a GMT Master 2 style watch, with a bidirectional bezel?
Why buy a Seiko 5 GMT when you can have this for the same kinds money? 💸
Does this mean we may FINALLY get a lunar pilot with a sub 50 lug to lug
just got one for $600 !!!
43mm is perfect
Absolutely no
$525 👉🏾Jared
I like it
Make it smaller!
Only 30 meters of water resistance. I’ll pass.
That's a 7.5 inch wrist wearing it like a regular watch, with my 6 3/4 wrist this would dwarf my hands
Shouldnt the 4 o clock numeral be IV and not IIII?
That stylized Roman 4 is common
They call that a clockmaker or watchmakers 4.
Looks terrific! Far too large for my wrist.
Amazing. Good value. Not perfect but this is their first hack at it.
Why are watches so damn big now.
Since when is IIII the Roman numeral for four? I see a few lower end watch companies doing this. Why? Why not do IV?
That’s known as a clockmakers 4. It’s done for symmetry on the dial.
Buckley Dial Rolex does it...I wouldn't classify them as lower end...
the blue dial is impressive but 43mm is a bit too large for me. 40 or 41mm would be perfect. Where is Bulova's made these days?
A very nice piece. The industry obsession with shiny croc skin leather is tasteless though.....
