Thank You Leonard Nimoy

The Museum was deeply saddened to learn of Leonard Nimoy’s passing. From a child that grew up just blocks from the Museum’s current location, to a career on television and in films that inspired so many people to explore and instill a passion for science, he was a natural choice for the voice of the preshow of our Omnimax theater. Since we first presented the preshow in 1988, Nimoy has helped welcome more than 15 million visitors over 27 years to the Mugar Omni Theater, inspiring generations of future scientists. He was, and always will be, the Museum’s friend.

This intro was always an awesome build up of the excitement for the featured science film. It was like, "hey that's the Science Officer talking!" And, his voice projected superbly and demonstrated the surround sound's impressive capability. Shear brilliance to get Mr. Spoke to do it. Retrospectively, it appears "logical, quite logical." RIP...

I used to go there all the time. n=then came the pandemic. wwhat is that place even like anymore? is it open at all? what aboiut the animal exhibit or the lightning theater
