I can't be the only one who wants more trailers or scenes from the new Kelvin timeline Star Trek films with Deepfakes of William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and DeForest Kelley, can I? :P
@@sobgray , i was referring to the clarity of the deepfake. DF learning algorithms work best with high quality source material. And the best high-quality material of Leonard nimoy at that age would be the HD remasters of TOS.
Kenny, I suspect that bleed through is probably due to a fairly limited range of young Leonard nimoy's facial point of view. If the HD TOS is the main source of data for the algorithm and Nimoy didn't particularly turn his head a certain way, or was never filmed with his face at a certain angle, the deep fake can't interpret something that isn't there. At least not well.
Most deepfakes I've seen seem to have one thing in common, that being the difficulty to render profiles, and forget about a camera shot wrapping around someone's face. it's just not there yet. That being said, this is good stuff.
Nice, i would LOVE to see you take the effort of COMPLETELY replacing the ENTIRE CAST with it's ORIGINAL CAST through deepfaking. Yes, asking for voiceover is too much to ask, but i think it would be curious to see the original cast like this. That said, there's still the obvious 'problem' and that is that Zachary Quinto (though i believe portrayed a great Spock), does not behave like Leonard Nimoy's Spock. The (subtle) movements, brow movements, etc. were (purposefully) different and that would only play into the hand that something would feel off in a full rendition. THAT SAID, i think this was a fantastic deepfake.
It was still off for me. It looked like neither actor, but a blend, like you get when combining a mother's and father's face to see what a kid might look like.
You know what? Zach Quinto has an eerie and remarkable physical resemblance to a young Leonard Nimoy! He could actually have been his son who was adopted by someone else!,
