James Heller didn't get mercers abilities because Alex failed to consume him. At the start of prototype 2, Alex Mercer watches as Heller (a regular human) single-handedly kills a brawler with a hunting knife and outruns a 6-story tall Goliath. Alex saw potential in Heller, so he decided to recruit him into his army of evolved. It was only much later when Alex actually failed to consume James after realising James wasn't going to happily take over the world with Alex and his small army. I agree that not every or possibly even any primers will be consumable or infectable, but I doubt any of them would get mercers abilities. Very specific conditions must be met in order to turn someone into an evolved being, and it's kind of only Alex that can really do it. Either way, I really don't see him winning since there's nothing Alex can do to completely wipe out the primers. There MIGHT be an argument towards Alex using his already genius-level bio-engineering skills, combined with the 1000's of years worth of scientific knowledge and experience he's amassed from eating hundreds for scientists, to concoct a new weaponised virus to wipe out the primers... but unfortunately, the people who write prototype never actually acknowledge Alex's intelligence and instead have him bumbling around, often asking other scientists to solve his problems for him, while he's off trying to see if he can elbow drop onto some random fucking soldiers cranium from the empire state building or some shit.
One thing I feel like you're ignoring about Dante is he absolutely LOVES guns, and unlike Vergil he isn't exactly picky about what he wants to pick up and master, so while he goes into the EDF universe with his DMC 5 loadout (Yamato included as you placed) it stands to reason he'd probably be gearing up with more weapons and gear as he's there, probably wouldn't be too far out there to picture him wielding fencer weapons while flying around through the air in his DT state like a wing-diver at bare minimum. Also in the 'Visions of V' Novelization of the 5th game (Really good book honestly, should read) it DOES say Urizen and Dante's clash shook the earth, as in their blows from the top of the qlipoth were creating earthquakes on the other side of the planet, and I think it says they'd been fighting for an entire day before Nero even arrived as well... So while it's not exactly the 'multiversal' power scaling people make out Dante to be, it is an actual in canon feat that doesn't need interpretation. I do understand and sympathize with the frustrations of power scalers though, especially with DMC since its all so vague, interpretative and bound to it's own gameplay mechanics, even if they WERE multiversal destroyer beings you can't really... Translate that to observable reality in the games, Devil Sword Dante and all he's still just doing fairly rudimentary sword and gun combat, stylishly of course. (But his SDT form CAN just casually create a black hole and crush it, that kills any non-boss demon instantly so even if we're limited to gameplay feats, black hole ain't nothin to look over.) the video brings up great points about everyone and their actual weaknesses, but as a guy who played Prototype as much as you played DMC, i have to correct some mistakes you made regarding information from those games or i will loose my mind. First, the company is named GENTECH, the virus is named BLACKLIGHT. Next up, the reason Alex could not consume Heller was because the virus he gave Heller evolved to a point that it rejected Mercer, as you said, thanks to his DNA being so resiliant. if he consumed Heller BEFORE infecting him with the virus and allowing it to adapt to Heller, he could have done so. Before you say something about why he couldn't consume Heller's kid Amaya, he just decided not to. There are two probable reasons for this, first being that his Ego got in the way, thinking he could win against Heller and damage him enough to consume him when the virus was too weak to fight back. The second reason is the more probable one. Through out the story of Prototype 2, if you pay attention carefully to the dialog between characters and take Alex's past actions into acount, you will see that the second outbreak was Alex's attempt at aither making a better world, OR cultevating someone, someone like Heller, who could and would destroy both Blackwatch and the Blacklight virus. My main evidence for this is during the final Boss Fight with Alex. every time you make a mistake that Alex counters, he berates you for making the mistake and tells you become better, faster, use a different weapon, evlove, he is telling you as the player/Heller how to kill him and others like him, the other runners that Blackwatch have stored away, like Greens son. He has been training Heller to kill thing like himself, thats why when Heller consumes him in the end he simply said 'Welcome to the top of the food chain.' Sorry for the rant but seriously, look into the lore and actions Alex takes, the 'mistakes' he makes and all that stuff and you tell me he isnt trying to make the ultimate Blacklight/Runner and Blackwatch/Evil govermant corporation destroyer by the end of the game.
Now to the thing you mentioned about Alex consuming the Primers. This is all being said with the stupid 'Grab a stronger version from another timeline and hope for the best' stuff the aliens like to do. If it wasent for that then Alex and the others would have more of a chance at winning this, but like you mentioned during Alex's segment the power to just grab a stronger enemy or enemies is too overpowered. You Yourself mentioned that Alex gains the abilities/skills of whoever he consumes. Yes their will be Primers that aren't compatable with him,. but if even one is compatable that is enough for him to survive much longer then you might think. if Alex manages to consume even ONE Primer, then he gains their ability to rappedly evolve much faster then humans, and considering that in just a few weeks he evolved into something that can solo his world with JUST human DNA, what would the Primers DNA do for his already crazy levels of evolutionary posebilities? Alex's greatest actual skill is that when he wants to survive he will do his damndest to do just that. hell he might even join the Primers if he thinks thats the best way to survive to be perfectly honest, if you don't mention his sister Dana that is, but thats another can of worms I aint opening.
Weekly reminder Dante can stop time, be it using gheryon's power in 3 or the bangle of time from 1. Which he would still have since gheryon wasn't a physical devil arm he's just not using it, and the bangle of time was his MOTHER'S bracelet. He'd never sell that.
@rougarabid Your argument was poor. You start going on a tangent about definitions while ignoring physical evidence. He froze time while on Earth, it doesn't really matter if time works differently in the demon realm when he didn't use it there. That's only one of many gripes over the entire video. My end point as a player of all these games is that you overrepresent EDF several times and underrepresent everything else several times. A running theme with these videos hence why I won't be watching anymore.
@@storkusmaximus3573 You are welcome to join the stream Saturday and present your arguments if you’d like. I always offer that option and no one has ever accepted.
@@storkusmaximus3573 Funny thing, he gets his mother's bracelet in the demon realm via secret mission, and the gheryon fight is way before you visit hell in 3. Time stop can be used there and it works the exact same.
Bugs with exoskeletons do not have muscles, they would work entirely different than regular animals or mammals, their movement and strength are a function of the fluid mechanics of hemolymph flowing through the exoskeleton structure like hydraulics, I'm not sure the exact physics involved but I would assume the differences would lead to a very different set of rules for getting bigger and the strength/weight increase.
Some not all. That’s definitely the way it works for spiders but the law stays the same either way. They would not be strong enough to lift their own body weight if they were the size of a building. Nothing would.
The only thing id say is Mercer gains the abilities and knowledge of things he consumes so who's to say consuming a primer, assuming he can at all, wouldn't change how he cab manipulate the virus and his body
The only issue I have with this entire video is that Rick requires just blood to heal, that's wrong to a certain extent. He does have a passive healing factor such as regenerating lost limbs. Such as when that one enemy with the long limb decided to grab him near the beginning of the game and throw him down the stairs. Rick regenerated his entire arm without the blood of said enemy. Does blood enhance his healing factor? Yes but he doesn't solely need it to heal on his own. It just enhances and quickens his healing factor. Everything else though is a solid ten out of ten my friend, great job and love the content!
My boys Rick Taylor and Alex Mercer got to be in a video. I’m so happy. Mercer might get shafted by time shenanigans, but Rick’s blood absorption is a serious pain in the a$$ 😂
Seems like the only way for anyone to win this is to have time manipulation powers or tech, and cause a paradox with the enemy so time itself to brings to two warring factions together to figure this shit out in a final showdown. Surprise, those without time travel powers can't win. Goku, The Hulk, even flippin Superman couldn't win in this scenario (wait, nevermind he has time travel powers again), the best anyone could do is just stalemate eternally. This is an awesome scenario idea to debate, but I think it needs more guardrails. Maybe more debate on whether they can take on Nameless, or survive an enter Earth Defense Force campaign if you replace the team Storm 1 with them, working for the EDF.
Uhm, about the non multiverse thing, there actually is multiple universes since in the dmc 2 novel there is actually an alternate version of mundus from an alternate timeline, which can count as an alternate universe, that that mundus aka Void mundus, absorbed the endless underworld and dante no diffed him, the orignal dmc 1 mundus created a universe and rn dante is leagues above, So dante rn baseline 1 shots universal charcters with no effort
Here's a video idea settings versus settings and in that video you could have Doom versus the Earth Defense Force universe and as you said before time travel doesn't really work against demons but they're not using time travel on the demons they're using it on themselves to get more soldiers to fight so that might be the one way time travel can actually work against the demons if you're not using it against them but on yourself to enhance yourself against the demons
In the case of Alex Mercer I think the whole thing with James Heller was a very specific thing with him and not something that could ever happen to an alien species. Also Heller got the powers because Mercer tried to turn him into one of his evolved, it's not something that happens when he tries to consume someone, so as long as he doesn't try to evolve the primers they shouldn't be able to get his powers.
@@rougarabid He couldn't consume him because of his blood but he only got powers because Alex tried to infect him. If he had tried to consume him without infecting him it's just as likely that he would have been like "huh that's weird" and then just killed him. Heller's daughter didn't get any powers after all. It doesn't really affect the result because the nameless could just wipe him out though.
@@falsetitle6940 some people theorize that Alex wanted to be consumed because he didn't wanna deal with people anymore, he IS the black light virus he isnt exactly dead.

My mum also once told me that Hell itself couldn't contain the amount of bulls*** my dad lies about. Going by statements in lore, my dad can basically destroy the barriers of realities and realms by telling my mum that the dress looks great. Sounds multiversal to me
I have to disagree with you about the dragon sword only killing evil people, because it cuts through things like machines like its butter. And also there are plenty of times where Ryu just commits a war crime by killing people who basically gave up, not to mention there is a times where the sword was being used for EVIL! For context in one of the games we see the sword being fused with a girl and went on a murder spree. Technically it was a Goddess rampaging through the city, destroying buildings with the Dragon Sword, while unleashing blasts of energy that created crystal constructs that unleashed artificial Fiends upon the populace. But still, it's very unlikely that the sword can't harm those who aren't evil.
Not the Dragon Sword. The True Dragon Sword. It’s stated directly that it can only be used to kill evil. It’s also stated that it kills evil in 1 strike. Neither is shown to be the case in gameplay.
Maybe they can’t take the howle world on along but what if they just took the place our playable character and the rest of the earth defend forces had there back
You like using lore version of doomguy but don't use the lore version of the devil may cry characters which is very weird I think you should go to the guy who actually knows more about the DMC universe than probably you do and that's not me I'll just put the link down below so you can debate with him or whatever because you are severely down playing devil May cry characters and I haven't even played The game again in years.
I found the guy and the video. m.th-cam.com/video/fREE7voVuiM/w-d-xo.html Though I don't know if the link will work so just type in digital t in the TH-cam search bar and you will probably see his videos on devil May cry characters.
he's likely just downplaying them in whatever way possible to make this more of a discussion or to ilicit a response. in the case of doomslayer there is no way to downplay the mf save for using gameplay literal feats. so unless a feat is shown and repeatedly shoved down our gullets with direct statements and irefutable proof. he ain't using it.
The hell does Doomguy’s power have to do with Dante? Doomguy has the actual feats in lore. Dante doesn’t. I literally made a 17 minute section in this video explaining how. Doomguy straight up has statements like a character “Created infinite universes passively”. There is no equivalent statement in DMC. Nothing even close.
Would love to see metal beast fight the primers. A werewolf with metal skin grafts. Silver bullets don’t hurt him. It took, specifically, a silver tipped rocket, fired from a rocket launcher, to finally kill him. Even if the Primers bring other copies of himself from across time, wouldn’t do them any good unless they find out silver can harm him.
The lovecraftian entity you're describing I feel like has more of a passive reality manipulating or warping ability After all it's stating that it's his dream that forms the universe so if he wakes up everything that exists ceases to exist because it's all a fabrication of his subconscious mind and what he is dreaming of If these beings are like that the corrupted from the abyss from the splatterhouse series then this power doesn't translate to their waking selves or at least it shouldn't
I don't know if you think it would be dumb, but maybe a survival challenge in the We Happy Few universe would be cool. See if character like Sherlock Holmes could figure out he was on joy and if he could eacape the island and get free.
I would like to see you make a survival video using any of the type moon property if you’re aware of them. Idk something like “could these [insert video characters] survive Babylonia”.
What if all these monsters are really big and strong BUT LIGHT. For example, made of light but very strong materials. But at the same time, because of their light weight, they can be easily lifted. For example, a giant ant can be lifted by, for example, a helicopter grabbing it by the back. And because of that, the ant cannot touch its back with either its limbs or its head, it becomes helpless?
Asura from Asura's Wrath might be able to survive; especially considering he seems to reach new power levels the angrier he gets, like the Hulk...ending in god-tier, throwing planets around powerful
Who's saying there are characters that want to destroy the demon world? I've played the games and seen the anime and can't recall any mention of it. I remember in a video where you talked about Dante before that Argosax and Mundas were stated to be strong enough to destroy the universe/demon world and that Mudas has had plenty of time to do it but hasn't and wanted to. Why would he want to destroy the place he lives in? He wanted to rule over both the human and demon world. This should be backed by the opening cutscene of dmc1 where there was a war, but if you can destroy a place then you'd just do it rather than fighting a war to do it. I don't know if you have since touched upon this since but that's something that I've been confused about. I don't see anything anywhere about the demon world being infinite in size, just that the world was born from unending darkness, which I do agree with you on your statement about it not meaning infinite. I also agree with your thoughts on demon power influencing the abilities of the characters and their weapons as you explained why Yamato couldn't cut Lady's bazooka, which may not actually be a normal bazooka when looking at what Nico says about it in the DMC5 files. And Nico seems to specialize in making arms capable of killing demons. As for the healing factor, Dante has a pretty good one but not as good as Vergil seeing as how Vergil was actually shown to be cut in half and instantly regenerated from that. You can clearly see Dante's sword go right through Vergil's body. Speaking of Dante's sword, I think the only possible reason why Yamato couldn't cut through it is because it's said that Yamato, Rebellion and Sparda (the sword) was created when Sparda (the demon) split his power into three pieces. These swords are part of his power, so when Yamato and Rebellion clash, its two of the same energies hitting each other. That would make sense, I think.
Would these demon hunters (Guts, Dante, Tanjiro, Ichigo and Denji) survive Diablo? Would these Isekai protagonists (Subaru, Kazuma, Kirito, Naofumi and Seiya) survive World of Warcraft?
I think 1 vs an entire army is heavily one-sided, especially if the army has a reality warper god. Would have been a more interesting analysis to replace the EDF player character and or any EDF squad thats fighting, with the other characters then go from there. It also creates the more interesting possibilities of how the characters would interact with the EDF.
Ok not gonna lie. I always thought Dante was at most like City Block to maybe City Level with Sin Devil Trigger. If Dante was Universal mowing through Demons would be even easier than it already is. He'd literally just dance through hordes making them pop like balloons with finger flicks and pokes. Admittedly that would be hilarious to see but he can't. Also I miss playing Splatterhouse. That game was so fun.
Isnt the entire point of dmcs gameplay that dante is styling on his enemies. I can understand not liking multiversal dante but hes not that weak either
@@MILDMONSTER1234 Yeah he kicks a lot of ass. I'm just saying I've never seen him do anything that equates to above city level. If he has I've either forgot or never saw/read it. Either way he's still badass.
"The Earth can, should, must, and will nuke Mars." ~ EDF, probably. Edit: also there is a stupid ass gun in one of the EDF games, and I love it. It has low damage, and a 1 in 60 chance of having a single bullet that does 1,000 times damage and explodes. And it also has a 60 round magazine. That means if you mag dump the entire rifle on one enemy, you are guaranteed to kill it. And there are enemies that rockets alone cannot take out. It's basically a gacha rifle, and is one of the strongest early game rifles you can get. Early game weapons you can get, in fact. And it's my favorite rifle.

He has been training Heller to kill thing like himself, thats why when Heller consumes him in the end he simply said 'Welcome to the top of the food chain.'
Sorry for the rant but seriously, look into the lore and actions Alex takes, the 'mistakes' he makes and all that stuff and you tell me he isnt trying to make the ultimate Blacklight/Runner and Blackwatch/Evil govermant corporation destroyer by the end of the game.
Suggestion: Would these horror villains survive a Diddy freak-off?
(The characters in question being Chucky, Ghostface, Freddy Krueger and Pinhead)
Not really sure what kind of survival challenge he’d fit, but it would be cool to see Vash the Stampede in one
This would've been an easy W for Ben 10, but Splatterhouse was a nice surprise
Weekly reminder Dante can stop time, be it using gheryon's power in 3 or the bangle of time from 1. Which he would still have since gheryon wasn't a physical devil arm he's just not using it, and the bangle of time was his MOTHER'S bracelet. He'd never sell that.
You didn’t watch the video.
@@rougarabidwhich I think is for the best for your mental health
The dragon blade would in fact consider them evil, you have to actively be good or pure of heart and character for the blade to not damage you.
Love your stuff man
3:15 I think your talking about the square cube law
Commenting for the sake of this dude’s algorithm!!
Oh you choose violence with DMC
Man I want to see more EDF match-ups, my bro please
Ryu isnt just a melee character he has nimpo and can use fire, wind and like dark ki shit.
I said he has long range attacks in the video. Just not many and none that can be greatly relied on.
@@rougarabidSay that to his face.
So earth vs primers is the game version of daleks vs time lords aka the time war
Can't remember how accurate this is but pretty sure in Dmc3 the Beowulf weapon has something in it's description about having the power of a supernova
Never thought i would hear "rape van" used as a unit of measurement 😂😂
How would Ryu use the dark dragon blade? He broke the thing at the end of the first game
adding this to my lists of videos to play for me when im in a coma
My boys Rick Taylor and Alex Mercer got to be in a video. I’m so happy. Mercer might get shafted by time shenanigans, but Rick’s blood absorption is a serious pain in the a$$ 😂
3:22 I believe you’re talking about the conservation of energy & the volume to mass index
Thought it was the cube square law
I don’t really scale Dante but in devil may cry peak of combat every soul has nine dimensional form
Which is low complex multi
DMC cosmology scales higher than that. The guy that made the video can't scale for shit.
Toad people?? But they have two arms, two legs, eyes and a mouth... They look just like humans!
DMC cosmology scales to Outer lowballed. The guy that made this video can't scale for shit fr.
Rouga!!
This was a good one.
I liked it.
We love you Ruger
You should do a challenge regarding prototype series
My favorite TH-camr strikes again
In the case of Alex Mercer I think the whole thing with James Heller was a very specific thing with him and not something that could ever happen to an alien species. Also Heller got the powers because Mercer tried to turn him into one of his evolved, it's not something that happens when he tries to consume someone, so as long as he doesn't try to evolve the primers they shouldn't be able to get his powers.
It’s specifically stated in the game he couldn’t consume Heller because of his genetics and the same happens with his daughter.
@@rougarabid Also TBH it just feels bad to have him lose even worse than he otherwise would because of Prototype 2's trash story.
@@falsetitle6940 some people theorize that Alex wanted to be consumed because he didn't wanna deal with people anymore, he IS the black light virus he isnt exactly dead.
32:30 - Scalers' logic: Every New Year, I become at least a universal being. I have no concept of time or space when I power up with alcohol and therefore they are of no consequence to me. My mum also once told me that Hell itself couldn't contain the amount of bulls*** my dad lies about. Going by statements in lore, my dad can basically destroy the barriers of realities and realms by telling my mum that the dress looks great. Sounds multiversal to me
I WANT PROTOTYPE 3 RIGHT NOW
I have to disagree with you about the dragon sword only killing evil people, because it cuts through things like machines like its butter.
Do you have a video with Spawn?
Imagine if Rick Taylor learned his universe is just one of those bastards' dream 😭
If your DM has you fighting basement rats as first encounter they are some kinda sadist. Dnd rats are like dishonored rats, horrifyingly op.
Maybe they can’t take the howle world on along but what if they just took the place our playable character and the rest of the earth defend forces had there back
1:27 destroy the world giant KIara. Destroy us all!.
What about if we throw rick Taylor in mortal kombat
You like using lore version of doomguy but don't use the lore version of the devil may cry characters which is very weird I think you should go to the guy who actually knows more about the DMC universe than probably you do and that's not me I'll just put the link down below so you can debate with him or whatever because you are severely down playing devil May cry characters and I haven't even played The game again in years.
I found the guy and the video.
m.th-cam.com/video/fREE7voVuiM/w-d-xo.html
Though I don't know if the link will work so just type in digital t in the TH-cam search bar and you will probably see his videos on devil May cry characters.
he's likely just downplaying them in whatever way possible to make this more of a discussion or to ilicit a response. in the case of doomslayer there is no way to downplay the mf save for using gameplay literal feats. so unless a feat is shown and repeatedly shoved down our gullets with direct statements and irefutable proof. he ain't using it.
Rabid is a feat> statments kinda guy
The hell does Doomguy’s power have to do with Dante? Doomguy has the actual feats in lore. Dante doesn’t. I literally made a 17 minute section in this video explaining how. Doomguy straight up has statements like a character “Created infinite universes passively”. There is no equivalent statement in DMC. Nothing even close.
@@rougarabid oh that's sounds fair
Would love to see metal beast fight the primers. A werewolf with metal skin grafts. Silver bullets don’t hurt him. It took, specifically, a silver tipped rocket, fired from a rocket launcher, to finally kill him. Even if the Primers bring other copies of himself from across time, wouldn’t do them any good unless they find out silver can harm him.
The lovecraftian entity you're describing I feel like has more of a passive reality manipulating or warping ability
After all it's stating that it's his dream that forms the universe so if he wakes up everything that exists ceases to exist because it's all a fabrication of his subconscious mind and what he is dreaming of
If these beings are like that the corrupted from the abyss from the splatterhouse series then this power doesn't translate to their waking selves or at least it shouldn't
THE EDF DEFEATED TIME GODS WITH A M16 No contest
I don't know if you think it would be dumb, but maybe a survival challenge in the We Happy Few universe would be cool. See if character like Sherlock Holmes could figure out he was on joy and if he could eacape the island and get free.
1:24 TF is Kiara doing here?!?! 😂
I mean ants hatch from egs irl they just hatch as larvae instead of a full ant and the larvae eventually becomes a pupa which then becomes an ant
I wonder how Blood Rayne would do?
I would like to see you make a survival video using any of the type moon property if you’re aware of them.
Idk something like “could these [insert video characters] survive Babylonia”.
Now please please put Raiden in a helldiver's video
Pls make a video with Brock Samson
Neuro has regenerated an arm
what if darth sidious found the worm gods ( from destiny)
And scaling between game play ,cutscenes ,lore , movies and Comic it all different
I scrolled down a bit, not goin further. But didn’t see a reply:
3:14 square-cube law
What if all these monsters are really big and strong BUT LIGHT. For example, made of light but very strong materials. But at the same time, because of their light weight, they can be easily lifted. For example, a giant ant can be lifted by, for example, a helicopter grabbing it by the back. And because of that, the ant cannot touch its back with either its limbs or its head, it becomes helpless?
ALEX MERCER MENTIONED
Ichigo in diablo would be unfair 😂
Would these dinosaurs survive Peter Jackson Skull Island
The indominus Rex
Would the Men in Black Defeat These Aliens? Xenomorphs, Predators, The Thing, The Covenant, Species, Resident Alien and ET for goofs
Would these serial killer survive Vlad and Cassie (Hack/Slash)?
Would these hack and slash heroes survive Mortal Kombat
I think 1 vs an entire army is heavily one-sided, especially if the army has a reality warper god. Would have been a more interesting analysis to replace the EDF player character and or any EDF squad thats fighting, with the other characters then go from there. It also creates the more interesting possibilities of how the characters would interact with the EDF.
No because then they’d just use EDF weapons and it wouldn’t be the characters and their arsenal anymore.
How about can Over watch survive the Earth defense force?
How would Eve from Stellar Blade do?

I love EDF. I wish I could play the new one. 😅
I am the nameless.
Cole Macgrath when?
Thank you for mentioning me rouga, i appreciate it
you know what would be really funny? if you add sonic the hedgehog into the next video of this challenge , you can technically categorize sonic as a hack and slash hero (only thanks to unleashed) i just think the mental image of sonic the f***ing hedgehog destroying the edf universe is just funny to me
