I love how basically every EDF game goes from "Okay, we're gonna defend Earth" to "We're doomed, this is the last days of humanity" to Storm 1 misunderstanding the meaning of the "last stand" and who is supposed to die at the end of it, and basically winning the final level of Halo: Reach.

EDF games literally have the exact same plot curve of Getter Robo Armageddon, “we must fight back,” “we are so incredibly screwed 99.9% are already gone there is no hope,” “we WILL kill god anyways”

It curves multiple times in EDF 6, you time travel and shit. In the end 30 percent on humanity is lost with a decent amount of the infrastructure as opposed of EDF 5's 70 percent (i forgor somewhere around that number or higher) without anything standing but parts of the EDF.

For those who don't know, the game is Japanese, and because of ww2 treaties, Japan can't have an "army" only a group that can act if they're invaded, called the Self Defence Force (SDF), so because the game is Japanese, they made the Earth Defence Force

Fun fact: In an interview with GameInformer, the creative director of EDF addressed that a lot of people have a phobia of insects. He said he understands why, but that he sees EDF as a way to temper that fear. Because if you don’t like bugs, you can blow them up by the thousands with giant guns and orbital lasers in EDF.

Assault rifles: Has a line of longer-ranged, higher power variants.
Sniper rifles: Has a line of rapid fire variants.
Missiles: Probably better for crowd control with 30 TARGET LOCK-ON.
Shotguns probably don't have a *specific* long-ranged variant/variant line, but they're not point-blank only. That's reserved for flamethrowers and acid guns. I saw someone use this one Sparrow Shot that had a pretty good range, like on par or even longer range than some of the assault rifles.
Fun fact: The developers of EDF, Sandlot, made another game for the Wii called Zangeki no Reginleiv (Blades of Reginleiv) that's basically EDF based in Norse mythology. And there's dismemberment out the wazoo.

Yup, my favorite fencer GOTTA GO FAST combo is the javelin catapult paired with pretty much any melee weapon of your choice for that horizontal thrust option (my choice is the twin blast spears for even MORE THRUST) because the javelin shot cancels the thrust reset frame so when you time the shot and the thrust you can just GLIDE all over the battlefield. You can literally zoom from edge-to-edge on a map with fencer within like a minute or two and it's the funniest thing ever
