My requestion: how to think with a clear mind or how to overcome indecisiveness. Like Nate decided to put all focus on making videos for 2 years and succeeded but some of us has hard time deciding what to choose from 8 things or ideas and even find it harder to stick to that idea for more than few weeks let alone 2 years. In the end, we know well what caused our failure but we keep on repeating same mistake and never get anywhere. Pardon my long explanation but I will appreciate Nate's making a video on the request.

Sum up : HOW to keep motivation (for those who don't have 8 min to watch)
1 : You need to SEE YOUR PROGRESS (make it accountable) but first make sure that you work SMARTER than Harder
2 : Set REALISTIC GOALS not too big not too small (those you really think and feel that is possible to achieve)
3 : Find your LEVERAGE, What DRIVES you ? It need to be bigger than just you and your personal disire.
I would like to personally add that finding a MENTOR, someone who represent for you a SOURCE OF MOTIVATION is so helpful.
When I feel lost or demotivated I just watch or read Contend made by persons who inspire me. As soon as I hear their voice my motivation instantly get back ! For me it's Tony Robbins, Nick Santonastasso, John Lynskey and Nate of curse !!

There's a fella named Chris Do who has some sage words on this topic (though he talks more towards the creative crowd). He says that if a plumber were to come into work and say, "I don't feel inspired to fix your toilet today," or, "I just don't seem to have the motivation to seal your leaky sink", he'd be out of a job. He wouldn't be much of a plumber, would he? In the same way, creative people gotta find ways to work through dry spells, not wait for the drought to end. That's my two cents for today! Love what you're about, Nate. We 'preciate you :)

Hello! I am watching this in 2022, yet, this is sososososososo helpful and applicable. I am a sophomore in high school who had a strong desire to do well in school to get into an Ivy League. However, it seems as if I have lost my ambition/drive these last couple of months. I’ve realized it’s because I don’t have a clear purpose, and my goals are extremely unrealistic. I have to take a deep breath, take things easy, and focus on the journey- not the result.
I’m going to track my mood/progress in these next couple of weeks. It may feel extremely easy to give up, but I’m not going to; I know this is going to make me a stronger, more insightful, and practical person. Using your words here, I will create simple tasks to carry out each day so I don’t intimidate myself. Thank you so much for giving me the motivation to complete my workout right now (I’ve stopped to take a break and had no motivation to continue due to the subconscious lack of belief I’ve had in attaining my goals.) :))

Slow progress is still progress but we tend to forget that. Not everything can happen instantaneously.

I just kept looking at you and thinking "Nice haircut"! Anyway, I think you presented some excellent points and I agree with them. I'm constantly surprised by how many people don't actually have a strategy in place. You might need to adjust it but at least try to have some sort of plan so you don't waste time on things that won't help you get to your goal. I would also add that you need to constantly remind yourself of your goals. Many times people lose motivation as a result of getting distracted and forgetting why they were doing something in the first place. Write down your goals and your "why" and reread regularly to remind yourself.
