I've always felt that you should start your journey to your next goal from the moment you realize you should... Don't wait for a new year, or a new months, or etc. Nike was right. Just do it. Just start. Your future self will thank you. Always play the long game... Get rich slowly. Life is a marathon, and anything good won't come quick (an ex gfriend told me that, but I'm not sure what she was talking about).

    Quick Summary.
Plan your life starting backwards. Ask yourself where you wanna be in the future. Think long term, stop focusing only on short term.
Keep notes of your thoughts, ideas and future plans. Its important so you dont forget what you were thinking.(new year goals for example)
Everything starts with a simple idea.
Break down your goals to smaller milestones. If you wanna be somewhere in 10 years think what you can do in the next 1 year to be 1 step closer to final goal.
    Set measurable goals.
Set consequences if you don't finish a certain goal

Your goals are beautiful Nate. I adore that goal to own a farm...😌🙌 It’s funny, because while I was listening to you, it occurred to me 🤔...I’ve never thought about the odds of not achieving a core life goal. To be fair, I wouldn’t actually know the odds of achieving my ultimate life goal. Only because I’ve never actually heard of it being done before. Still-I’ve never doubted the odds might be against me. 🤔 Apparently I’m Han Solo now-“Never tell me the odds!” 😂 (Sorry, I know-no Star Wars-I just couldn’t resist) Anyway, I thought it was pretty odd because I actually do consider failure with non-related, smaller goals. Somehow though, those “life purpose” goals seem undeniably achievable-no matter what the perceived hindrances might be.💯 As always Nate, thank you for sharing. Your thoughts are always appreciated. 🙏 I hope you leave a little room in your plans for the unexpected. Life is definitely full of surprises! You never know when you might run into a unique life changer.😌🙌💯Stay open to life my friend. It’s always looking to give you what you asked for. 💯✨🙏

Such great advice! I am planning my next five years right now and I needed to hear this for affirmation ☺️ it’s kind of making me nervous because my dreams of becoming a doctor are so close! S.M.A.R.T. goal-planning is something I use daily and for these long term goals

You dont even have to set a consequence for yourself for the last point, just be mindful of the natural consequences: if you dont work out you might not be able to move in a couple of decades never mind win the marathon! but im glad you brought it up dont feel bad about that. The thing about you is you got the right habits down from a young age, i remember thinking about this stuff when i was 17 but i didnt have the discipline to pull through with it, now at 27 and suffering greatly i'm naturally looking for ways to change my situation

I like your idea about planning your goals backwards. It is an interesting mind exercise. I also like the idea of taking small sustainable steps along the way. I think it is important to set goals that are balanced. Our lives are not one dimensional in the sense that we are flesh, spirit and mind creatures. I personally try to set at least one physical, one spiritual and one creative/learning goal to be a well rounded human. The physical could be as simple as drinking more water daily, then moving on to the next small physical goal. Same with the other two areas which could be reading a different Bible tranlation every day or learning a foreign language, but I have to say I found your approach interesting. I really enjoy your channel.
