I got to meet Jeremy in this era as he frequented my local Chinese takeaway...a genuine and hard working entertainer who clearly loved what he did, and his part in the happy memories many have of the past is awesome
Great, I've finally got something decent to watch on tv tonight. I've just acquired the first two series of Beadle's About. Yippie, they just don't make telly like they used to.
The bed shop prank was the very first episode of Beadle About I remember watching. I was only 4 years old in 1989 when it first aired, but I can remember it so well. Poor lad with the "Golightly Family" in that shop. Looked like they ate the whole menu of Greggs.

I lived in Orpington for 30 years and remember the bed prank episode very well because I'm the guy with the bald patch walking away in the background @7:16. :>) Beadle spent his childhood nearby in St Paul's Cray.
