This show is much ,much more FUNNIER and GENUINE than The REALITY TV of Today.REALITY TV is FAKE and the REACTIONS are NOT REAL Because they KNOW THEYRE ON TV and the CAMERA is WATCHING,
"Oh it's that c**t Beadle." Haha. Amazing set up and the perfect guy. Thanks so much for this. My favorite ones are the characters like this and the workmen actors who wind them up.
That first prank, something about the footage has a vibe that it was recorded years before it aired. I have a hunch that it was something shelved from a much earlier series, then aired as a filler in the 1990 run. Which seems to be backed up by the fact that the guy "couldn't be there". Something I've always remembered about Beadle's About, is a 1980's newspaper expose of underhand techniques which the show deployed. One of which, was that if the victim "Sadly, couldn't be here tonight", it was often because they'd refused to sign to release form to allow the footage to air, but the producers exploited loopholes to go against their wishes and still show it despite their objection.
At least everything is real and it is that which makes it funnier than any of the crap today or even those things that came after. I mean take Balls of steel for example, everyone raged about how funny that was, neg stranger rodeo etc, but I debunked and proved it was all totally fake with actors and it was actually Neg stranger rodeo (everyones favourite) that I used to prove it was all totally faked with actors, sadly as if it was not it would have been funny but to me, if its fake, there is nothing funny and no point. Balls of steel was, and many others were God I would give anything to go back to the 80s and grow up through them and into the early 90s, everything was the best!
Martin Reeves what a legend . Andy Thomson the good old days

The Vauxhall Astra is still on the DVLA database. First registered in October 1988. Tax expired in November 2001. Never made it to its first MoT.
I meant Vauxhall Cavalier. Won't let me edit it.
