  • This is an unboxing of the UV coated version of the Tornado V3 Pioneer cube. There's not a great difference in look or feel from the non UV coated version that I have had for several months, apart from the core has been updated since and it has a slightly glossier finish, but not by much. It does seem a little looser as well and of course it needs time to break in being it's a new cube. I think the Moyu V9 has an ever so slightly glossier finish to my eye but that could be down to having used it more, or It could be that Moyu's UV coating is a micron thicker...
Both the Moyu V9 and the Tornado V3 cubes are top cubes and either one would great to have. The Moyu V9 has better corner cutting than the Tornado V3, but the Tornado does have adjustable magnets and is a little quieter.
Thanks for watching! Feel free to leave your questions and comment below.

I already have wrm v9 and planning to buy tv3 uv. Do you think tv3 is better than v9? What are the difference and what is your settings in v9?

The Moyu feels a bit more smoother and rounded off on all the pieces. The Tornado more angular sharper look and feel to the pieces and the cube. The Moyu's UV seems glossier and thicker. The Tornado has a more floating bouncier feel while turning like the pieces are slightly hovering, the Moyu pieces seem to rub together more while turning, this effects the sound as well as the feel. The Tornado has a softer sound with lower noise, while the Moyu has a more scratchy sound and is slightly louder. The Tornado has adjustable magnets, while the Moyu has core edge magnets and also has blue internals.
They are very close in actual performance so I would be happy with either. You quickly adjust to the feel of the cubes but some may prefer one over the other, mainly because they are used to a particular feel. I have the setting on the Moyu set to 8 clicks but might drop it back down to 7 to make it slightly looser but it depends on lube I'm using at the time and how much I use. I would say if you can afford to get the Tornado go for it, once set up lubed, broken in a bit, it feels great and you may prefer it over the Moyu but it usually comes down to individual preferences. If you do get one, let me know how you get on with it. Good luck 👍
Edited: Also the Tornado is ever so slightly bigger in size than the Moyu maybe by around 0.5mm.

Nice. Hows the feel of the UV coated version ? Seems like corner-cut is not so great .

It looks and feels good but only slightly glossier than the previous Pioneer version so I wouldn't suggest upgrading if you already have the previous version. The corner cutting is fine but not as good as the Moyu V9 which is crazy good. After setting it up and breaking in a bit this isn't a issue during normal solves. The overall performance is great on both cubes. It is a little looser than my previous Pioneer so I may have to adjust the tensioning up to 4 or so.
I think most people would be happy with any of these cubes as they are all great. The Tornado is a fraction bigger, a little quieter and has adjustable magnets. The magnets on the Moyu are stronger though so it auto-aligns well even with a more aggressive turning style. If you can try both out beforehand you may prefer one over the other but it's too close to call for me now.
Edited: Hope this helps 🙂 👍

Do you prefer this one or the wrm v9?

They are very close but I would have to give the Tornado the slight edge although the V9 corner cuts better. If you get a chance to try both out it will help you decide as people turn slightly differently and prefer a different feel. So one model may suit you over another.
I have a non UV coated Tornado Pioneer which I prefer over the UV coated, not because of the coating but because it just turns smoother and tensioning was spot on out of the box. I'm not sure why if it's variation in manufacturing or updated parts, changes made... The UV coated was too loose and needed the tensioning adjusted. It needs a lot of breaking in and lube to slow it down a bit. Hope this helps.

Ah nice! It should be a good step up from using the RS3M although that's a great cube as well, especially for the price. How are you finding the Tornado adjustment settings and the UV coating?

@@Feverstockphoto its weird because i have sweaty hands and i find uv coated is slippery hahaha
And coming form rs3m 2020 which is 4 grams heavier, i feel the tv3 is so lightweight and airy to cube. Its so fast and its more enjoyable to turn
What settings would you recommend on tv3?

    • @Feverstockphoto
      @Feverstockphoto  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@mipad4491 Yeah I had sweaty hands today on the video trying to get the pieces out which was a bit more tricky because of the sweat. I've noticed that the Moyu V9 seams a bit more slippery with sweaty hands than the Tornado. I have the settings with spring tension on 4, axis distance default 3, magnets at max 5. Using a few drops of Cosmos and a little Traxxas 50K. It's more stable now and turning really well. Glad you like it, happy cubing! 🙂👍
Edited: I don't recommend the Traxxas 50K, it's a bit too gummy, sticky, I'm just using it up 👍

@@Feverstockphoto yeah but when my hands are dry its grippy
I only have 2 lubes here gan 2 and gan 3 (only i can afford) but it gets the job done slowing the cube and smoothing
Im still learning CFOP by the way heheh
