- After my review of the £1 burger, I moved my review to the oldest Burger bar on Blackpool promenade Greasy Joes.
Having not visited in over 30+ years, this was a nostalgic walk down memory lane. Did it still have the taste I remembered or was it not what it once was. This was a place that held fond memories, so much so, if you had a barbecue back in the day and you managed to get hold of some Greasy Joes from his supplier you were on to a winner.

I am from blackpool worked in Funland and Purple penny as a bingo caller greasy joes was the first to put a fried egg and cheese on a burger tasted fucking gorgeous in the late seventys after ten pints on the way home was legend.
Am I wrong for were they better quality back then. The one I tried killed my memories of a burger after the pubs and clubs.

I’m so glad I’ve seen this … I went Greasy Joe’s just after the covid lockdown & I tell people about this Greasy Joe’s. It was the vilest food / burger I’ve ever tasted ! I took one bite & threw it in the bin ! Absolutely shocking & shouldn’t be allowed to sell that shite ! Thanks for the upload 👍🏽

1970's After coming out of the disco"Time and Place" at 3 pm full of beer, drunk as a skunk, greasy joes burger tasted ok. I am 74 years old.
Blackpool is a great place and I always used to have a wimpy when i was kid ...

I saw one of the shops on the pier that predominantly sold chips, get delivered pre-made frozen chips. I have fond memories of B'pool as a kid, but its just a commercial, scamming cesspit today.
I’m hoping things change, there are a few places popping up so hopefully they will rub off on others
I was standing outside a chip shop in Blackpool, August bank holiday 2017. All of a sudden, this white Audi screeches up outside. Driver gets out, opens the boot, takes out 2 recycling bags full of frozen chips and walks in to the shop!
That greasy joes outlet has been going for around 40 yrs or more ,and back in the day when most places were closed by 3 am ,we d go greasys still be open at 4 am whoever was owner ,back then was a grafter for sure and as for the quality ,of burgers way back in time didnt matter to pissed up hungry people .
He is still working according to the guy who served me.
You are probably right ref: if you have a skin full of beer, you just want any food.

Im from London and had to live in Blackpool for 3 years it's a dump and a hellhole porest place in the uk
I went to Blackpool in the late 80s, we went to a pub near the railway station, what a dump, behind the bar was a dirty mop bucket, a couple of brooms, and 2 choices of beer. The bar man had his feet on the bar smoking a cig, and he told us to p -off he was just enjoying his pint on the race horses page in the Sun he moaned.
Does anyone remember Tomlins or Tomlinsons, going back yrs ago, it was in that area victorian building, ??
I have to be honest I've never had decent food in Blackpool from fish and chips to burgers I think they just buy in cheep ingredients and through it together great video though great to see Blackpool again 👍

So did I, this is why I was so shocked at what I was served. A massive letdown

A lot of those seasonal takeaway places along the front and just round the back etc are serving up low grade food for maximum profit. 99% of the customers they get in summer are not bothered about the quality. Families with not much money and drunk lads and lasses. They will eat anything.
I think the drunk lads and lasses have kept some in business for years. I was no doubt one of those on my youth.

Jesus Christ. It’s a kiosk on Blackpool prom. The bloke is trying to earn a living. It’s not fucking Gordon Ramsay. Doesn’t need reviewing and doesn’t need slating. It is what it is. It’s a Blackpool kiosk burger.
That looks delicious but it could benefit from some brown sauce. Quite economical too. This has made me start to feel really hungry but it's gone midnight and I'm off to be. By the way , I was right in that area just over 3 weeks ago staying at Seafront 417 I think it is called, only 50 yards from Greasy Joe's. We came over from Leeds for a few days.
