    I guess it makes sense you can fit a larger laptop or tablet in it, when they decided on making it an 11" design they probably accounted for older screens which normally had a bit bigger bezels. Modern laptops often can fit a 12" or 13" screen in the same space we used to get 11" models because of thinner bezels.

    Love this video. It’s great to see reviews beyond the usual big name bags, especially when showing how much space they hold. That you could fit a medium format in the larger one is very good to know.

    I've been using a Hadley small for years now, but the fact you can fit a 13inch laptop in the boulevard 11 is very interesting. Nice review Max

    I am absolutely a fan of this channel. I absolutely love how you present the equipment and always find the interesting nuance or anecdote about whatever it is that you are presenting. I wonder (because these videos are otherwise so well done) why the sound in your opening monologue always sounds distant and echoey like you're using either the camera's built-in mic or a mic that is just too far away from the person speaking. A lavalier mic or boom mic would solve this problem right away. I hope you accept my observation in the spirit in which it is given because like I mentioned, I absolutely love your content. Thanks!

      Film Photography Channel Thanks so much for your feedback. I am actually using a lavalier mic but probably put it a bit too far away in this case. I’m using the same one for almost two years by now. The problem here is the rather empty room that actually echoes a bit. 😅

      @@AnalogInsights Oh, I see. I'm no expert, but I'm sure if the mic were closer to your mouth, you could turn down the gain which should eliminate the echo (unless it's an omni directional mic maybe). In any case, love your video as usual and thanks for replying. Also I'd be honored if you stop by my channel. I just posted a video making the case as to why I prefer my Leica (M6) to ANY SLR. As you can imagine, it sparked quite the discussion from SLR die-hards! Cheers!

    I discovered analog insights just a few months ago and I really appreciate the content. I like the very peaceful and casual atmosphere of your videos. When I saw there is a video about camera bags, I straight thought it's going to be about a great product.
    BTW, Hodinkee Magazine... watch enthusiasts too?
    Gruss aus Berlin!

      And yes, I got into watches over the past several months. :)

    Good review of both bags. Pricy but quality costs and that discount helps to buy a film or two !

    I'm interested Boulevard Tablet bag that seems a smaller version yours. Respect Freiburg and Harry & Sally seems to have much smaller padding. It does seem as protective, am I wrong? Thanks

    Hello, nice comparison video. I`m currently looking for a new camera bag. Do you think the Leica SL with APO Summicron 50mm will fit into the George?

    Man... That Freiburg, what a beauty. I was just one step away of buying one. Almost pulled the trigger.... Maybe one day. It's a one way street. Unparalleled quality.
    Do you think I could fit an X-t3 inside? For me it looks quite tight for it :(

      @AnalogInsights  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      JuanReasonToSmile Thanks for your comment. If you’re interested in the Oberwerth Freiburg, feel free to take a look at my respective review video here on the channel. The XT-3 should actually fit in there. Maybe you can give it a try. And if you do make a purchase, don’t forget to use the discount code. It does make a difference with these prices. :)

      @@AnalogInsights I will definitely use the 10% discount, haha. About the bag, I'll see if I can get my hand on a Freiburg sometime soon and check how it fits.
      On other topic, would you recommend me a 35mm film camera? I'm just looking for a camera with light meter. I saw your om4 review and got me interested. Which one would you recommend?

    I like my Boulevard Tablet bag better than Billingham Hadley Pro Small, it has roomier interior and forgiving loading slightly larger gear. The only complain is have to buy the optional handle and not as easy to grab as the top handle on Billingham. The tablet slot is a bit tight for me iPad Pro 11” with cover.

    Do you think the George would hold 2 x Plaubel Makina 670/67W? I’m looking for a bag to hold my two collapsible 6x7 cameras - a normal and a wide combo. Any help appreciated.

    I think to use it for a laptop the sleeve really needs to be in the centre of the bag. And now with 15 to 17 inch laptops, probably need to be bigger.

    I wish they weren't leather. The leather industry is an absolute horror show from the way they treat animals to the chemicals they tan leather with.

    I spent ages surveying measuring checking reviews about this bag, and I'm afraid I fell for the hype, yes the bag is well made to a degree but to me it has many flaws for a start you have only got to breathe on the leather and it marks badly I thought ok use some quality Polish but all to no avail, the rear zip pocket would never hold an iPad it's so tight, a piece of paper might just do it, once you put a camera in bag it is impossible to get to the inner two pockets, the huge fold-over flap to close the bag it's way too big and totally gets in the way when trying to remove the camera, the locks are fiddly and annoying one lock would have been sufficient, I cannot return it because I have polished it, so it's now up on eBay I regret so much having anything to do with this awful bag, and it has cost me time and inconvenience and loss of money, I strongly do not recommend this bag.

    Come on now... Camera bags? Have you turned into a designer wannabe executive nonsense channel? I don't mind the books - though it would be better if we could imagine they'd be propped up on the corn flakes packet at the breakfast table and not handled so much with white gloves - but camera bags? I refuse to watch this one.
    Please get back to your roots!

    • @AnalogInsights
      @AnalogInsights  5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Thanks for your honest feedback which I really appreciate. Yes, this channel also covers camera bags - as one of the most important accessories and something that commentators keep asking us about (s. Leica IIIf video for example). This is also part of this channel's roots - there has been an earlier review of such a camera bag. Furthermore, I am personally very much interested in good design as becomes particularly apparent in the video about the Agfa Optima for instance. So there's no turn here but just some variety in the content we provide. If you prefer gear, film & book reviews, I can accept that. But claiming we are turning into a wannabe nonsense channel is simply not true.
      And, by the way, the white gloves make perfect sense when handling expensive limited edition books created with special printing technologies. It is obviously not something we are wearing all the time when holding a book. :)
      If you're interested in my breakfast table, you can actually see it quite a bit in this video. But for the sake of my own OCD and avoiding comments in the other direction, I removed the corn flakes packet prior to filming.
      Cheers,
      Max

      Hi Max. It is to your credit that you defend your editorial decisions, and thank you for the reply. I felt I ought to, at least, watch the video since you clearly stand by it, but, well, let's agree to disagree about this small matter. I suppose I find it unnerving to see new products so clearly given an aspirational commercial slant, but the channel is yours to steer the way you want to go of course, and I concede that film itself, albeit not overtly a "designer" product, might be said to fall into this category so this is clearly a grey area. I wonder if you have thought about the consequences of clearing away the breakfast things before recording and missing out on a lifetime's supply of cornflakes?
      I shall, of course, continue to enjoy the reviews of items that interest me and, since you're there, would like to thank you for the work you do which is always produced to a very high standard. You choose your words carefully (especially impressive in English) and articulate your thoughts in a way that is very listenable.
      Cheers,
      Jim.
