I appreciate the support my friend. I’m definitely still finding the style that works but as long as I can get the truth out there on knives and try to make sure that my recommendation for what goes in your pocket is valid then I’ve done what I set out to do. It’s important to keep the good knives in the pockets of hard working People
I think the complaint about soft steel comes from people who really liked the xhp versions but don’t necessarily understand why those blades were so special. Cold Steel does a great job on heat treatment across the board (one of the best production ht in my opinion), but their xhp blades were particularly excellent from what I’ve owned/sharpened.
I personally like their S35VN, it sharpens well, holds the edge, is tough as nails, is just overall good to go. Their xhp was great as well but it doesn’t sharpen as easy as s35vn but it just held a slightly better edge
@@cheaperthanyouthink don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the s35vn blades. I just think the xhp is a particularly well done offering of one of my favorite steels. I really enjoy sharpening and most of my equipment is diamond (stones and compounds for my strops) so the little bit of added time isn’t an issue, especially compared to how well it seems to like taking a mirror edge. Though now that I think about it, the bit of added corrosion resistance would tip the big picture towards s35vn for the vast majority of buyers. We’re really splitting hairs at this point though, I’ve yet to be disappointed by the heat treatment on any Cold Steel folder.
I got a clip point code 4 , carry it occasionally, it's a great knife , good video 👍.

Oh - this might be my favorite design for when I’m wearing thicker gloves. It really is tremendous as a work knife.
