What's wrong with ordering knives of Amazon?
@@bigboss4993 alright certain brands and knife companies are A okay to order off Amazon, it’s the $100+ market that might have some scammers and people who will sell clones but running back ground checks on the business or person selling it is the best way to avoid that
@@cheaperthanyouthink ok thanks good to know, I had an issue like that before with eBay but I already had an original so I could tell it was fake and got a refund. So far I haven't had an issue like that from Amazon but we'll see, I'm expecting 2 knives tomorrow.
@@bigboss4993 you and me both honestly
In 2011, I lucked into a Benchmade Presidio for like $40. IIRC there weren't aftermarket parts for it other than pocket clips, and it was huge. One day I finally did something dumb enough to break it, which kinda freed me to release my wallet at something roughly as nice, or at least as expensive. It took me a while before I settled in, though. The first was a 20CV Benchmade Mini Crooked River that I then dropped on a concrete floor, which had snapped a piece of the crappy OEM scale. This was after like a week of ownership. The 2nd was a 20CV Hogue Mini RSK, with a custom clip that I got at the same time, but otherwise haven't upgraded since. After that, I went back and got some addons for the Mini Crooked River - brass scales, brass-colored-TI pivot collar & thumb studs, and steel barrel spacers instead of the OEM backspacer. I still want to engrave the 'facing' scale, and find some brass or brass-tone barrel spacers, but I don't baby this knife any more, so it'll be a while. My current daily driver is the wharnie Hogue Deka, with satin Flytanium scales, Lynch clip, and extra long black TI thumb studs. Oh, and a good amount of paracord lanyard with a tritium bead, 'cause I'm terrified of losing this thing. Right now it's kind of bare metal with black accents, but eventually I'm going to send it out to Way of Knife, & have them do a McNasty ano on the scales & stud, then tumble all the other black hardware so it's plain metal, instead. I have to stop carrying it to do that, though, which has proven harder than I'd originally planned. Also, just going to throw it out there that Bugout-havers are incredibly spoiled when it comes to aftermarket options. Screws, studs, lock bars, spacers, and of course scales, are available in every conceivable material and color option. I'm quite envious, even though I still prefer the Deka as a platform, mainly due to Magnacut being the snob's choice of blade steel. The Deka itself is kind of a poster child for this sort of thing, as well. Like, the OEM scales are so obviously terrible, but it's got a relatively low sticker price, so it basically BEGS you to upgrade it as soon as you get it. At this point, I basically look at knives as platforms for becoming what I see them as, rather than single objects in & of themselves
As a Bugout-haver, I fully agree. It served me well as a great platform to learn personal preferences with when I started getting further into the hobby. Instead of having to try a new knife in a different size and shape to see how I feel about different scale materials, I was able to isolate factors one at a time to see what I thought. Different scale shapes and materials, wave opening vs thumb studs, different clips, different balances - even internals like over-sized washers vs bearings. Also it is comforting knowing that you can buy basically any part if a replacement is needed and you don't want to send it in for warranty.
Holy moly man! I’m definitely trying to get some of my knives to that place eventually. All in time I figure but I do have a couple small pieces coming in after I made this video and got some inspiration
I’ve been wanting to get a smock to mod - but I’m worried that the aftermarket scales only cater to the smaller pivot.
@@traxor I can definitely see that will be the case, honestly give it a couple months and I can all but guarantee they’ll have some options

I guarantee that the black isn't going to show wear unless you drop it or impact it. In and out of pocket use won't wear type 3 anodization (handles)
@@skycapt01 I will say, although I don’t disagree I will also say there is a million and 1 different things that can happen, such as bumping into something abrasive or accidentally putting keys in the knife pocket. Regardless, daily things happen and I have scratched my handles and countless other coated aluminum handles. It’ll always be a con even if they do look super cool lol
@cheaperthanyouthink2646 that's impact, my friend. I have this same 5205, it's super tough. I've dropped mine and you can only see wear in the impact spots. The clip will get scratched up, though I haven't gotten any to get shiny lol

New sub! I need one to show off on my channel. Have a good one!
I got a Bailout 2 weeks ago from SMKW, when they ran a promo with a free hat and a multitool. People hate on the 3v Bailout, but since they upped the hardness, it became my most carried knife, it managed to dethrone both Kershaw Livewire OTF and the Spyderco Shaman as my favourites. I just wish they made the pommel out of steel or titanium, so I could use it as a light-duty pry tool, but overall great knife!
Just picked one up. This knife rules
I love the bailout. I have the green aluminum M4 for past couple years. Fantastic knife, I just bought this 3v version as well, got it on sale so that made it sweeter!
@@plynch113 that M4 bailout is a blade I’ve wanted to pick up since I got the 3v one but it (just like most Benchmade knives) I just way too much cost for materials in my mind so I’ve been waiting for it to go on sale
No way would I get a compound grind blade in a super steel. Eek.
@@BeepTalford-nu8mm honestly in this one it’s so subtle it may as well not even be considered one, even when I use the full length of the edge it never interferes
Great video. Okay, are my eyes playing tricks on me or is the 15v version you have much bigger than the S110V LW!? Tha scales and even the blade look larger on the 15V, but maybe it's the camera angle. Based on the stats from Blade HQ and the Spyderco website these two versions are supposed to be very similar in physical dimensions.
@@dengised321 it’s the angle absolutely! They are the same size overall!
Yeah, That's the problem with Amazon. The Golden, Colorado U.S.A. Earth is so bad on that. Also, the jimping is trash.
I love the carBONE 😂 Bought the No.8 now ( in carBONE) and love it. Bang for the money for sure!
They're not different, it's all ther same crap. Spyderco's motto is "A sucker is born with every sprint run" Also shuuuuuuuuuuut up about the "Different tasks in my life" It's a knife. You're justification for getting the same thing over again is poor. Just say you want to collect them and quit being dense about it.

Is the Omega Springs what make the able lock have a detent? Just got mine and it has a bad detent or non at all. Like if I shake it hard enough downwards the blade shoots out. Any ways of fixing this?
