It's worth mentioning that Rapha do a good repair service for free. Brought a pair of the core tights and managed to come off on their second outing resulting in a couple of nice holes on the leg. Sent them back and they were repaired within a fortnight so are still in use. Also have a pair of the brevet bib tights which are possibly now discontinued but they were brought in a sale one year, so their stuff can be had less than retail.
On the second outing they were torn, and they didn’t send you a new pair? Lol thats ridiculous they should’ve sent you a brand new pair when they received them.
A lot of ppl moaning about his being an ‘ad’.. well nobody is asking you to watch let alone buy the products. These channels can’t produce videos for free, if you have an issue why don’t you start funding the channel.
Thank you. Great video that explains what their website doesn't. Based on this I bought the classic tights for temperatures in the 32-50 F range (0-10 C) and they are perfect. Chalk up one sale based on your video. Their tights just fit so well they make you want to go ride.
I own several Rapha cycling gear but it is hard to gather all the information based on their various lines so I appreciate this review. I searched Google to compare various lines of Rapha’s winter bibs and this video review saved me from going to several websites. As mentioned previously if you do not have any interest, you do not need to watch.
I’ve got the core tights and use for commutes, city rides and find them really good. Looked at other brands and price wise they compared well or were cheaper than some other brands. I got the winter cargo (waited for a sale) tights and the features they’ve added are amazing. I’ve done rides up to 200km in them and found them comfortable, kept me warm, legs dry and reflective elements gave peace of mind for the ride.
Yep, spendy. Gifted some, thankful. Logo came off after one wash. Contacted support. Got told it’s my fault for washing them incorrectly washing them. Did not get asked how I washed them. Back to Casatelli. Buyer beware. -S.
Good and quite thorough walk-through, with one exception. You didn’t explain the thermal properties of the Cargo tights, as you had done with the others - you focused instead on their durability, pocket design and reflectivity. So I am left wondering how the Cargo would compare in winter conditions (in both warmth and water resistance) to the classic and pro models?
I ride the core tights to well below 0C and they keep nice and warm. I wouldn’t spend the extra money for reflectors and tights that can stand up to pedalling, shouldn’t they all do that?
Mark Lagan inc. your delusional if you think selling mags and TH-cam ad revenue keeps these guys afloat. Believe it your not this video will have been useful for some cyclists.
I tried both (I mean assos, they are expensive as well) and I feel exactly 100 times better in the expensive ones, so the price is okay for both bibs. Though I would not want to use the AliExpress ones any more because they don't fit as good and they feel scratchy.
So basically for the price of 3 pairs of tights (which I find to be the bare minimum number assuming regular riding) you could get a Campagnolo Zonda wheelset. Thanks, but no thanks, the pricing is borderline retarded. I'll stick to PlanetX and Decathlon offerings, they're more than fine for 10h+ long rides.
Rapha stuff is expensive but I’ve had my Rapha stuff about ten years done thousands of miles in all weather and it is still in excellent condition despite lots of washing. It’s decent quality stuff.
Now why can't Rapha have a clear product comparison on their site just like this? Perl Izumi does it as well with their various elite/pro/etc lines. We don't ask a lot, just show the difference in your product lines clearly dammit!
Worth it, not worth it, functional, not functional, what actually IS "Italian material" etc etc.. sure, it's a debate to be had. But damn they LOOK good. I'm not above a little fashion crossing with my passions ;-)
Why don’t you mention that the more expensive are made in Italy or Portugal & not China, so it’s not only the material it’s the quality from production.
Please note do not wear dark clothing such as black tights on your bike.Biologically drivers cant see you as a cyclist passess through the fovia of the eye.A spate of cyclist accidents has prompted propsals to ban the wearing of dark clours on bikes in favour of those brighter colours on the contient. It makes real sense, be seen, dont blame the motorists they really did not see you ...be safe.
Yes maybe so but they use slave labour and throw some COVID-19 in for good measure..... Rapha and all the other brands shouldn’t use Chinese labour full stop

Mr Stanhope stoked it worked for you. My experience was the opposite.

I bought the core and I’m excited $140 already seems expensive to me lol not spending $300 on a cycling bib
No comment on the pads on item 1 and 2? Surely that’s one of the key requirements
Mate, can you make suggest what's the difference in the chamois between all these models?
I am particularly looking at classic II vs Pro team?
Cheers
Great presentation, simple but with key infos...
BRAVO!!!! 👌👌👌
Assos bibs and Castelli tops for me.
Haha me too :-D Best mix ever
Nice detailed review on these products, including sizing would be helpful.

It would have been nice that the women's bibs were also included. Cycling isn't just about men.
Just a commercial
Ye but they have no polyester .Wow
Lutz Schumacher Well, why don’t you pay them for content so they don’t need to take ad money.
@@haroon420 they already get paid by TH-cam and by selling magazines
Mark Lagan inc. your delusional if you think selling mags and TH-cam ad revenue keeps these guys afloat. Believe it your not this video will have been useful for some cyclists.
Didn't answer many questions Rupert, you said what you were sitting in, but not what you were sitting on, probably the most important aspect!
I’ve got a pair of Rapha core tights but I managed to get a small hole in them next to the Chamois.
Rapha offers free repair service
Who actually has that question?
How to generate some extra income?
Well I was wondering. If you you weren't, why are you here?
Good job Logan.
Product placement for Rapha video
Any review on bibs is not complete without discussing and showing the pad.
Thank You! Very helpful ^-^
I found them really uncomfortable behind the knee compared to Assos and so sent them back (pro team model)
Brilliant...well explained
What about the best planet x bib shorts? Or decathlon?
Lidl winter bike gear (Crivit) is fantastic. Alternatively go to AliExpress for top quality at a tenth of those Rapha prices. Don't be fools people.
All the haters. Obviously they never tried Rapha. Great clothing super comfortable. Worth every penny.
:D who'd like to pay 240£ for tights? naah I'll get 2.40 ones from ali express
I tried both (I mean assos, they are expensive as well) and I feel exactly 100 times better in the expensive ones, so the price is okay for both bibs. Though I would not want to use the AliExpress ones any more because they don't fit as good and they feel scratchy.
£110 "value" tights 😂

Rapha stuff is expensive but I’ve had my Rapha stuff about ten years done thousands of miles in all weather and it is still in excellent condition despite lots of washing. It’s decent quality stuff.
Be sure to click that like and subscribe so you never miss another Rapha advert.

What jersey you wearing?
£200 for a pair of bibs. Do you also get a sticker for your forehead that says MUG?

Italian fabric? So it was made by Italians in Italy?

Thank god for Amazon.
Why not compare them to other tights. Tights that are half the price and give you the exact same benefits?
Why can't they makes bibs that don't look like you took a deuce in them? Only 7mesh does this.
Reflective are a lot of money lol yeah I mean can buy a hi vis vest for £2.50 but anyway.
The Chinese bib tights manufacturers can put as many pockets or reflective panels as you like on a pair of tights. All for £30!
Yes maybe so but they use slave labour and throw some COVID-19 in for good measure..... Rapha and all the other brands shouldn’t use Chinese labour full stop
This is a commercial, come on cycling weekly your better than that. 200 quid for a pair of bib tights!
Nothing new here... you get what u pay for.
Rapha is made is China , dont forget that
When a paid ad is masked as "review".
Useless video, specs dont matter, whichever one has the largest logo and matches my CerVeL0, it's all going on my dentist company card anyway.
Rapha seem to by worn by people who get dropped first.
A shamwaah? WTF is that?
Technical construction? You mean stitching?
Tim Butler wet myself when he said shamwaah, rewatched that bit several times 😂 I
Paid commercial!!!! I wont be back
