Mecha design kinda outdated already, gundam 00 released on 2007 have better consistency on mecha design

Despite not having so much encounters, the Guren and Lancelot had such a heavy rivalry.
Because of the rivalries between Suzaku and Kallen. Especially in the second season.
They had enough encounters tbh.

The rivalry stretched further than the two machines. Suzakus stubbornness to his side and kallens stubbornness to hers and Lloyd and rakshatas rivalry as geniuses. Love it.

I love the fact that the Geass “Live” command constantly puts Suzaku in the zone increasing all his abilities to their upper limit.
The increase was so significant that he can actaully force a stalemate with Kallen despite her superior Knightmare frame
Suzaku basically got the ability to survive everything thanks to lelouch. Which makes me wonder if old age is going to kill him?
It also allowed him to murder us when we didn’t even know he was our enemy initially. How convenient so no attention is taken from the insufferable assholes.
@@thephoenix4093 Probably, since Shirley was fatally shot and bleeding out, and even a Geass command couldn’t save her. Suzaku’s body will have to be irreversibly breaking down to the point that the “live” command can’t function.
Also ironic in how Lelouch saved the life of his best friend, who killed his own dad to save Lelouch and Nunnally.

あと、強い意志を持って戦う女の子がほんっっっとにかっこよくて大好物なので、カレンめちゃくちゃ推し……。小清水さんの綺麗かつ凛々しい声も相まって最高です。

どんどんスペックアップしていって化け物みたいな性能になったのにラストバトルがスラッシュハーケンメインの肉弾戦なのが本当にアツい。アニメ史上最高のラストバトル。
あついのは本当だけどなぜ他のすべてのアニメ作品をこれより下の最終戦だと下げる方向で誉めてしまうのか。

正直いいバトルだと思うけどバトルの内容よりもコードギアスの最初から通して立場と仲間がまるっきり逆転した上で機体性能も逆転してギアスを使われた側から使う側に回るスザクとギアス使われて拒否した側とすべてを逆転してる立場の作り方は面白いなとおもうがバトル描写はまぁまぁ程度だと思うなー正直今までの流れからのこの流れだからエモいのはあってもバトル自体には特別感なくね？
TV放送してるシリーズで言うならガンダム００の前期と後期ラストバトルの一連の方が良いラストバトルだと思う、良くも悪くもコードギアスのラストバトルは決着ではなかった所も印象大きいよその後の方が大事な事だったしね。

@@kagami.. 単純な操縦練度は同等。マシンスペックの差をギアスの呪いによる反応速度の上乗せで捌いてるのがスザク。
(実質負けてる)は少し違くて、ランスロットは動力を潰されて爆発→スザクは身体能力＋ギアスの呪いによるブーストで無理やり脱出したから負け
(「届いているよ」の時点でギアスの呪いが反応してるのでこのままだと死ぬことが分かる)
ジノがいなかったらカレンは海に落ちて死ぬので負け。つまり両者とも通常なら死んでるので引き分け
ランスロットと紅蓮はすべての戦いでどちらかが若干旧式という状況なので作劇的にも設定的にもどちらが明確に上手(うわて)なのかは描写されてない
そもそもの話スザクの戦闘スペックにおいてR2以降ギアスの呪いブーストを差し引くのはおかしい(スザク自身呪いを利用する形で戦っている)ので
どちらも最強格で基本負けない、が正しい。なおギアスの歴史で最強のパイロットは設定上マリアンヌ。

この戦争のスタート地点は二人とも同じイレブンだった みたいな？
身分もやり方も思想も違う二人だけど二人とも同じ理想を抱くイレブンという立場で争わなきゃいけないという虚しさの強調だと思ってる

This is awesome. Seeing every battle that Suzaku and Kallen had in the entire series.
They definitely had a very interesting rivalry. Ironically, Suzaku was Lelouch and Kallen's biggest obstacle and greatest rival. The only difference was that Suzaku's confrontation with Kallen was mostly physical combat and with Lelouch, it was wits and cunning.
最終戦でずっと敵だったスザクが味方に、カレンが敵になってるのが面白いよなあ
スザクとカレンの戦闘はどれも良い。特に最終戦 6:02 の描写は、今見ても感嘆する。
後、カレンとの戦いでC.C.が吐露する心情も、大好き。
ラクシャータさんの「ベストポジションじゃな〜い」からの紅蓮可翔式起動、「敵がどれだけいようとも！」の流れが大好き。
毎回戦う時にどちらかが性能アップしててどっちが勝つのとかわかんなくて好き
最終決戦はカレンがスペックはこっちの方が上なはずなのにってスザクのつよさに驚いてるよ

@@lemon1650あの世界ってマシンスペックがかなり重要だから普通にカレンのほうが弱いと思うわ。ギアスよりもマシンスペックのほうが重要なのはスザクvsナイトオブワンではっきりしてる。
How did this miss the first encounter they had? That was one of the most pivotal moments in the first season. Had the Lancelot not stopped the Guren, Cornelia would have been killed.

6:00 Energy Beams and flying are okay, but I really appreciate them going back to the basics.
Nothing can match the solid smash and bash of a good ol' Giant Robot Kung Fu fight.
And mind you, Suzaku has superhuman reflexes and was Geassed into pushing himself to his absolute limits and Kallen *still* kept pace with him and won. Girl is a straight beast.

唯一もったいないと思ったのは

放送当時から何度も見てるけど毎回気分が上がるわ
あんだけ生を達観しているc2が機体性能もパイロットとしても逆立ちしても勝てないカレンに、勝ちに行こうと意地を見せるのと、その意地と真意をを知りつつ実力のままに捻り潰すカレンという構図がエモいんですよ
可翔式の戦闘シーンだけじゃなくて換装シーンから入ってるの分かってるなぁ

最後にはスザクとカレンの敵対構図が逆になってるのがまた良い

for me it really reminds me of the Amuro and Char rivalry, especially with the Red vs White color scheme and idealogical debates
当時小清水亜美さんは若干20歳だったが、エウレカセブンのアネモネの流れで既に若手声優の中でも群を抜いた存在感をだしていたのは言うまでもない。
あまり知られていませんがこの年の声優アワードは福山潤さん、小清水亜美さんが受賞理由はコードギアスの熱演だったと関係者の発言されていました。
特にカレンが主役の1期9話『リフレイン』この回の小清水さんの最期の泣きのシーンは何度見ても感動を呼ぶ場面なのでオススメしたい。
なお、ギアスの監督から「小清水さんは櫻井さんになんかやったの？」って聞かれるぐらい櫻井が小清水を殺しにかかる演技をしてたと関係者が語ってる。
この二人のおかげでスパロボ出れたと言っても過言ではない
これ仕事というより好きで編集してそうなレベル
so i’ll say a good 40% of the reason why i rewatch Code Geass or just the clips at least, is Kallen’s english voice actor Karen Strassman. She’s amazing and with her lines against Yuri Lowenthall it’s just so amazing to listen to.
it’s one of the few anime I prefer to watch to in dub.

コードギアス→IQが高過ぎる主人公が、チェスの駒という体裁の兵を使い不利な戦局でも戦略的に勝つ為の作戦を練り戦う
アルドノア・ゼロ→IQが高過ぎる主人公が、圧倒的スペックと敵国の機体それぞれ個別で持っている初見殺しも良いところのチート能力を、戦闘時に分析しつつ対策して戦う(コードギアスと違い、ブリタニアに該当する敵国が持つ戦力はラウンズしか居ないような感じで、王族から領主に与えられた専用機体が数十機居る程度。つまるところ人型量産機が存在しない)
こんな感じの差異でどちらも面白いです。
正直な所、こっちのが面白いとか比べられない様なベクトルの違う知能を使った戦闘していて
どちらも推している身としては両方とも神作品として扱って頂きたいですね。
何度見ても面白い。
コードギアスは戦闘がスタイリッシュだけどそれ以外にも外交の駆け引きとかあって好きだった。

The arms race in this anime is INSANE. From the first episode to the last
So many cool details in the final encounter between Kallen and Suzaku. Despite knowing how much is on the line, Suzaku is at no point trying to kill her. He is constantly going for a disarm knockout, whereas Kallen is showing her tenacity by being able to react to Suzaku's speed and surprising him with her counters. It really speaks well to the way they've always maintained their rivalry.
I really like the detail of Suzaku sequentially removing her options for fighting by first attack her wings, which then cost him his own wings, draining her surge waver energy at the cost of his own shield, and going for her arm and leg to successfully knock her out but it cost him the fight. A really cool blink and you'll miss is the way Suzaku destroys both of her harkens so he can create an opening for his final attack. I love the details on this fight!

I rewatched this anime like 6-7 times in way back in high school. So freaking good anime...
Character Devlopment is perfect, with a COOL OST with "Nightmare ", "Zero ", "Grand Fleet ", "Black Knights " as my favorite of the ost
The battles are perfect with a HELL GOOD HISTORY and unic character designs like Zero.

@@minousjay-rme9303 It depends on your personal tastes, really. I used to like AoT a lot but then the story and characters became a bit bland and predictable to me. Eren is a much more simple-minded protagonist than Lelouch and couldn't hold my interest for long. His relationship with Mikasa doesn't seem to evolve all that much compared to Lelouch and CC. But that's just my opinion.

ランスロットアルビオンの方が後に作られて、ナイトオブラウンズビスマルク含めて４機全く無傷で勝利したけど、「セシル、ロイド、ラクシャータ」の3人が結果的に生み出した聖天八極式が機体として最強だったのは、ギアスの呪いをプラスにできるスザク相手に超絶いいバランスで、バトル構成の仕方神だなと思った。

I like the fights between these two. This clip alone shows the difference between battle strength of Kallen and Suzaku. Their Ideals and beliefs. The upgrades in there Units. I like Suzaku. But I always prefer Kallen. Her strength to side with her enemy and takes orders.
Kallen and Suzaku definitely have an interesting rivalry, I'll give them that. At first, Kallen protects Lelouch from Suzaku in R1 and then their roles are reversed in R2 where Suzaku is the one protecting Lelouch from Kallen.

紅蓮可翔式の換装シークエンスめちゃ好き
どっちの機体も異常レベルのスペックで、変態たちがやりすぎた為にオーパーツクラスの能力を誇り、乗りこなせるのは二人だけっていう、出鱈目な機体同士の一騎打ち。
こういう展開が王道だけど、こういうのが好きなのよ、燃える展開が好きなのよ。
強力な武装をお互いに使い果たして、最後には最初から装備しているアンカーと機動力、パイロット能力のみでの戦闘とか、たまんねぇ。
グレンラガンみたいに超絶怒涛バトルからのマトリョーシカ的に小型かしていき、最後の一撃がドリルコアのみと同じレベルで大好きですｗ

You miss the entire point of their last fight. Suzaku completed everything he was trying to. He meant to lose so that it would seem like he was dead. That way he could be the new zero. Did you not pay attention to the actual plot?

She was superior in that last battle, and she's always trying to kill him. so his live order always demands he goes all out because that's what Kallen does. He has too. It's just that when he knows he lost, his live order gave him a chance to escape. Yes, it's according to plan, but he can't try to lose with Kallen. She always wanted him dead in the nightmare fights particularly, and he had to treat each fight as such. Suzaku knows Kallen is the superior nightmare fighter. Yes Suzaku is a boss at it too, but Kallen is slightly more. Plus without his live order he gave up so many times in the show.

Code geass's mecha is like a mix between Seed and 00, with those jet like backpack and light close combat style design
Music is the true treasure of this anime
Even when Guren SEITEN being the most advanced Knightmare Frame by the end of R2 and technologically surpasses Lancelot Albion in defense, offense, and mobility, Suzaku still managed to drag the duel into literal mecha fistfight. Kudos to Suzaku for lasting this long.

確かに、、、
神虎(星刻)との短い戦闘かつエナジー切れでの負けは物足りなさ半端なかった。
ヴィンセント(ギルフォード)の撃破、トリスタン(ジノ)とモルドレッド(アーニャ)をまとめて一時活動停止させるほどの実力を見せただけに、もったいないこの上無かった。
活躍させると物語が破綻しかねないとも言えるけど。
流れてるbgmもいいよね〜
聖天八極式の登場した時のエナジーウィング展開も良いし、ランスロットの発艦のポーズも好き。
R2 25話のランスロットと紅蓮の戦い、最終的にロボット同士の拳と拳の殴り合いになるのめっちゃ熱いよね...

I was never into mecha anime, but CG's knightmares are an exception. Specially Guren, from a make shift unit with a giant arm good with close quarters, eventually upgrading to its strongest version.

@@wallyspencer3253 not it’s not, lelouch’s geass can’t give power ups to people, it simple gives a command that the person must obey with the best of their abilities, everything Suzaku does when the live command is active is simply him going all out
Two of the best pilots in the series. Kallen pushing a draw when suzaku was using the effects of geass is insane.
