Saturn 2 is just sooooo easy to reach for, it's straight candy for me. My go-to bass chain is similar. I'll have a clean, distortion, and fx track that I blend together. Then, some light saturation on the group as a final touch.
Hey everyone! First off, I LOVE Saturn 2 - and I hope that shows in this video! Fabfilter makes great stuff! But I do want to encourage you to try and create these effects with whatever saturation tools you have! If you don't have a saturation plugin that can do multi band processing, try just duplicating your bass guitar track and using an EQ to create the different low or high pass filters you need and then distort to taste. There is always another way to get there! Happy mixing, and have fun! (PS - let me know what your favourite saturation plugin is! Always stoked to find new ones!)💥
Great question, and good eye! I use it to correct any intonation issues that were tracked during the recording of the bass guitar. I try to do this before recording guitars when possible as it really helps you lock in your guitar intonation while tracking too. I find that no how careful you are during bass tracking there is some irregularities with each instrument that still benefit from a light touch. Melodyne gives me the best results as far as bass is concerned. Bonus tip: melodyne will also let you control the note by note dynamics in a really transparent way too! Love it!

Agreed, perfect tool for this instrument (and many others it seems haha)
Desde Montevideo Uruguay, excelente consejo. Muchas gracias
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

It's a very good saturation. the way multiband works however is pretty confusing, have you been one to check the manual before? I haven't
Is there something in particular with the multi band processing that you're finding confusing? I'll do my best to help!
What’s Melodyne doing on the bass?
