Tears have become an expected part of listening to Angelina. I gave up trying to understand why or explain the tears. Her voice reaches in and wraps around my heart with a big hug and the tears flow, as they are now. I can't count how many times I've heard this, but the effect is still intense. I'm pretty sure the scenery in this video was in Southern California.
A lot of her covers are just her and her guitarist sitting at home, so I think you will be happy with them. I'm so glad you're enjoying listening to these songs! To answer your first question, there are two 'Got Talent' shows she was in. The first, where she started out at age 7, was Norway's Got Talent. She auditioned with Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday, then I'm A Fool To Want You (a cappella), Bang Bang, and finally Summertime. The other talent show was America's Got Talent which she entered when she was 13. She sang Bohemian Rhapsody, Yellow Brick Road and Someone You Loved. I don't think there's anywhere in particular to start. Maybe Bohemian Rhapsody and then Gloomy Sunday. Or just pick a song you like - or don't like - from her catalogue and give it a go. They are all amazing. As for that word to describe her voice - it hasn't been invented yet. We've all tried, believe me, but it's a quality that just eludes language.
She owns this song. You could study AJ through her career just by seeing all the interpretations she has done of this song alone. From her performance on The View, to Quincy Jones 85th birthday to her beautiful samba version last summer in her Norway concerts.
Great reaction! Angelina puts essentially everything she does "in the books". She sets a high bar over and over. As a strategy going forward, either of the talent shows is a good place but you could also websearch her name along with an artist or song (only big ones, she rarely sings unknown tracks) that you like; determine that she covered it (after all she has 160-170 such performances); listen; be amazed (again); and repeat! Whichever course you take, be prepared for more goosebumps and maybe even the shedding of a few tears!

She has perfect pitch. Her musical training is on piano, violin, flute and guitar. Oh and lessons how to protect her voice. Her parents were advised against vocal coaching that might interfere with her unique natural technique and vibrato.

There are two more versions of this song that you should react to. The first is when she was a couple of years younger and had just won Norway's got talent at age 8. It is on the American show The View and is her first performance in the US. The other performances at age 12 or 13 at the Quincy Jones 85th birthday concert. It is with full orchestra and it is the real Frank Sinatra version of this song. Phenomenal.

Her semi final performance in Norways Got Talent of BANG BANG " he was 5 and I was six" the perfect voice and an image of a tiny little girl with white flowers in her hair. It ended up being the definitive version of the song. Have been following Angelina for about 6 years now, have listened to several hundred reactors in that time with Angelina but you already have shown me that your knowledge of music and what this young girl can do with her voice is excellent, I appreciate that very much and have subbed the channel. I am very picky on what reactors, there are so so many with Angelina and love the honest, sincere comments. Her millions of fans already know who this young lady is and always enjoy reactions from those that understand the immeasurable talent of Angelina. Her vocal abilities in the short amount of time from 7-8 years old in that competition is remarkable to say the least. Angelina was invited by Quincey Jones to open his 85th birthday concert when she was 12. He called her the most talented singer since Michael Jackson ( I think she is better). Look up the rehearsal video for his 85th bd concert. This was the arrangement he did for the Count Basie Band andFrank Sinatra.
The acapella version of "I'm A Fool To Want You" at Norway's Got Talent, just 8 years old, really shows, who Angelina is. Her personality (grownups mostly underestimate children), her understanding of music, her awareness. She always was brilliant, in using the tools she has/had, and the ones of a child are not as strong, as develoved, as a more grown person has. So I would say, in her essence she always had the same brilliance, from 7 to now. Her personality is the same. She obviously found her middle very early. She just has more tools, few more voices, more developed technics, plays more instruments... Maybe we all can learn, to more respect and be aware of children as persons. For Angelina this always was very important, as she said "I very much care about children" and she did that in a humble and friendly way. She was lucky, to have a Grandma and Mother, who obviously were and are aware of that all, who supported and inspired her.

Tears have become an expected part of listening to Angelina. I gave up trying to understand why or explain the tears. Her voice reaches in and wraps around my heart with a big hug and the tears flow, as they are now. I can't count how many times I've heard this, but the effect is still intense.

A lot of her covers are just her and her guitarist sitting at home, so I think you will be happy with them. I'm so glad you're enjoying listening to these songs! To answer your first question, there are two 'Got Talent' shows she was in. The first, where she started out at age 7, was Norway's Got Talent. She auditioned with Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday, then I'm A Fool To Want You (a cappella), Bang Bang, and finally Summertime. The other talent show was America's Got Talent which she entered when she was 13. She sang Bohemian Rhapsody, Yellow Brick Road and Someone You Loved. I don't think there's anywhere in particular to start. Maybe Bohemian Rhapsody and then Gloomy Sunday. Or just pick a song you like - or don't like - from her catalogue and give it a go. They are all amazing. As for that word to describe her voice - it hasn't been invented yet. We've all tried, believe me, but it's a quality that just eludes language.
Angelina also performed on the show Little Big Shots, both in Germany and the US.

She owns this song. You could study AJ through her career just by seeing all the interpretations she has done of this song alone. From her performance on The View, to Quincy Jones 85th birthday to her beautiful samba version last summer in her Norway concerts.
Great reaction! Angelina puts essentially everything she does "in the books". She sets a high bar over and over. As a strategy going forward, either of the talent shows is a good place but you could also websearch her name along with an artist or song (only big ones, she rarely sings unknown tracks) that you like; determine that she covered it (after all she has 160-170 such performances); listen; be amazed (again); and repeat! Whichever course you take, be prepared for more goosebumps and maybe even the shedding of a few tears!

Great reaction! She has made us all cry at some time or another! A good place to start would be her performances on Norway’s got Talent aged 7 and 8. At 13 she was invited to America’s got Talent, The Champions, which would be a good follow up. However, there are so many to see, just dive in, you might as well, you are already hooked!

She has perfect pitch. Her musical training is on piano, violin, flute and guitar. Oh and lessons how to protect her voice. Her parents were advised against vocal coaching that might interfere with her unique natural technique and vibrato.
She started by winning Norway"s Got Talent and won at 8 years old. Her first audition was when she was 7 single ng Billie Holiday"s Gloomy Sunday. The judges were left speechless. AGT was The Champions and Queen was so impressed with her version of Bohemian Rhapsody that they gave her a copyright to that version.

The judges comments are almost foretelling the future course in Angelinas. I know it sounds crazy but they are so captivated each and every song AJ does for them they become fans after the 1st note.

Yeah, it really is an x-factor with AJ. It's an authenticity that just exudes from her -- and it's multiplied by her age. She's just absolutely genuine in everything she does, as you'll see over and over again. Her Norway's Got Talent performance of Summertime and the AGT performance of Bohemian Rhapsody are among the most astonishing performances I've ever seen. Your point about AJ never allowing herself to be over-produced is so insightful -- and exactly right. She respects the way music was produced before digital enhancements -- not to say that she doesn't adapt. Eventually, check out her studio version of "Mercy" for a motion picture, and then her live performance of "Mercy" in Norway. Also, you'll want to listen to her perform Fly Me for Quincy Jones (she opened the gala for his 85th birthday celebration at O2).

It is on the American show The View and is her first performance in the US. The other performances at age 12 or 13 at the Quincy Jones 85th birthday concert. It is with full orchestra and it is the real Frank Sinatra version of this song. Phenomenal.

There are songs where her age definitely make a difference because the lyrics and image create a perfect unrepeatable whole. Her semi final performance in Norways Got Talent of BANG BANG " he was 5 and I was six" the perfect voice and an image of a tiny little girl with white flowers in her hair. It ended up being the definitive version of the song. Or her Lana Del Rey cover song YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL " will you still love me when I'm not young and beautiful" " when I'm nothing but the ache in this song" sung by the preteen Angelina who captures all the haunting questioning of the origional.

Have been following Angelina for about 6 years now, have listened to several hundred reactors in that time with Angelina but you already have shown me that your knowledge of music and what this young girl can do with her voice is excellent, I appreciate that very much and have subbed the channel. I am very picky on what reactors, there are so so many with Angelina and love the honest, sincere comments. The acapella version of "I'm A Fool To Want You" at Norway's Got Talent, just 8 years old, really shows, who Angelina is. Her personality (grownups mostly underestimate children), her understanding of music, her awareness. She always was brilliant, in using the tools she has/had, and the ones of a child are not as strong, as develoved, as a more grown person has. So I would say, in her essence she always had the same brilliance, from 7 to now. Her personality is the same. She obviously found her middle very early. She just has more tools, few more voices, more developed technics, plays more instruments... Maybe we all can learn, to more respect and be aware of children as persons. For Angelina this always was very important, as she said "I very much care about children" and she did that in a humble and friendly way. She was lucky, to have a Grandma and Mother, who obviously were and are aware of that all, who supported and inspired her.
From AGT, chose "Bohemian Rhapsody" (13 years old) (skip her other AGT-songs for the time being), After that the compilation of all four songs from "Norway´s got Talent" (Norske Talenter) (7-8 years old), then "I'm Still Holding out for You" ( Fan made video) (10 years old). Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of another masterful performance by Angelina. I agree that even at this young age she has a very captivating voice. But - IMHO - what really differentiates her from other singers (at any age) is her innate GOD given ability to also emote the essence of each song she sings directly to our hearts & souls allowing us to also deeply FEEL her music as it flows through her. Looking forward to more of your Angelina reactions. I still highly recommend her NGT audition singing Gloomy Sunday - at age 7. The judges comments in Norwegian (with English subtitles) are priceless. Another gem while she was still quite young is What A Difference A Day Makes which she sang at a Norwegian outdoor music festival.Thank you. It became very apparent in your first reaction, ad even more apparent now, that you really understand what you're hearing and witnessing. And I LOVE that.
